? about calories
I just began considering the HCG diet and had a question. I'm a newbie, so please excuse my lack of understanding.
I've been on a lc diet at 1200 calories a day. Will I still lose weight with HCG if I eat 1200 calories, or do I really need to eat only 500 calories? Just wondering. Thanks! |

You really need to eat only 500 calories. This program is not forgiving. It needs to be followed exactly as written. Also, be forewarned that any cheats could set you back 4-7 days. Best of luck to you. It works. There are tons of great information on this site. You also want to read Dr. Simeon's Pounds and Inches, pdf. for which this diet was designed. You may find it by googling that phrase. Some have been successful with the 750 calorie Omaha Weightloss Clinic program(google it).

I've done only one 23 day round so I'm not an expert or anything, but if you do the diet properly, which means eating TONS of high fat food for the two days before you start on the 500 calories a day, you probably won't feel hungry. You might feel kind of deprived, like, "I should eat something," but not actually hungry, because your body is burning stored fat.
The only day I felt kind of off was when we helped friends move - it was a huge job and I felt a bit faint a few times but I was really working hard all day. Other than that, I felt really good through the whole thing. But to answer your question, I personally wouldn't waste my time or money doing a round of HCG and eating 1200 calories a day. |
