Well, I never counted calories before, but since I am concerned about stabilizing in P3 this time, I decided to count today, my first day of P3.

If I am only allowed 1500 calories based upon my present sedentary lifestyle, I have already had

1 cup Fage yogurt 310
1/2 cup frozen raspberries 20
6 Tbsp heavy cream in coffee 300

Aaaacckkkk!!! I've eaten almost half of my calories for the day at breakfast!

I plan a chef salad for lunch (was going to use Marie's blue cheese dressing, but I think I'll stick with oil and vinegar to lower the calories), and Linda's Low Carb Spinach Lasagna for dinner.

I'm going to be way over.

Have any of you had problems with eating way over your supposed "allowed" caloric intake?

Not at all! Don’t start with the worrying. You will be 100% fine. Calories are good, and you can go over as long as you’re doing strict P3. It’s fun! And that sounds like a great menu so far.

Oh you are so right that I shouldn't start with worrying! Thanks! All I can do now is just see how it goes.

Good morning, everyone! I ended up taking an impromptu road trip with some girlfriends to go shopping... I had a great time, except the fast food along the way. TOM is here and I am up. I cannot do a CD till Thursday (family birthday party tonight, dinner at friends tomorrow). I will try and eat as cleanly as I can (lower cals too), and deal with it when I can. 20 days till my next P2. Part of me wants to just get to it, but I'm prepping for a CLEAN round! I'm warming up to the idea of P2... always a good step.

Lilac~ Your Vegas pictures are beautiful. I love your style!

DBunny~ I sometimes go a little nutty before I start another round. Just try and rein it in till your loading days.

Garnet~ I wouldn't worry about it. Stick to P3 foods and you will be safe

Millenia~ Don't forget, you can add berries to your GYCD. You can eat more than 32 oz if you are struggling. I wait till noon or so to start eating it, though, which helps.

Julie~ Post pics when you can! Comparison shots are my favorite!

While I am not an expert on P3 and stabilizing, I DO remember eating low carb (20g of carbs or less - Induction level) and WAY over my BMR (sometimes 2 or 3 times over) and still lost. I do think that if you are sacrificing carbs, you can have lots more fat, even though it may translate into higher calories.

I have been more or less mindful of calories since starting P3 but not a stickler. What I HAVE been a stickler on is the low-carb, and I find that I have stabilized well so far.

Thanks for this information I have some left from my last P4 and I wasn't sure if I should throw it out or not.

Lilac, I hope this works out for me this time, because I had difficulty stabilizing in P3 my last two rounds despite eating mostly protein and fat.
I don't know if it was a food intolerance, or my thyroid/adrenals not yet under control, but I'm hoping things are different this round. That's great that you have stabilized!

GY CD with a smaller steak tonight~ worked good last time I did it That should net me some good numbers. On a positive note.. I have been to piddling like crazy today. Next round I am going to stay in P3 for longer.. I don't trust myself in P4 so much. Thanks for letting me whine!

For me, it usually does cause a gain (anywhere from .6 to 2 pounds) if I eat 200-500 calories over my amount.

That *sounds* bad, but a CD brings it right down. AND, even when the CD is still at 100% of my BMR.

So if your number is bad tomorrow, take heart, CDs bring it right down and are part of the process. I don't quite understand how it all works, but it does work. Finding the CD you love and respond best to is part of the fun.

FYI, my improvised egg, cheese, and hamburger day worked fine - lost 1.6 and am back in range.

Thanks! I like your hamburger/cheese/egg day idea.

I do believe I am going to be one of those people who will have to watch the calories. I struggled so hard in P3 for rounds 2 and 3, and I just realized I was eating the same amount I had in round 1, when I stabilized really well, but I was much heavier.

I'll see what the scale has in store for me tomorrow!

As an update, I'm almost through my work day with 14oz of GY (2 individual containers), and some strawberries.

I'm feeling pretty good. I'll have another around 5p and one or two more for dinner. This is not bad, and I thought it would be VERY bad

Millenia, I actually LOVE the Greek yogurt correction days (and I certainly had many of them on my last round!) Prior to that, I was unaware of this correction day, and was really sick of eating eggs all day, or doing the chicken thigh thing. And I never did well with the steak day (couldn't miss breakfast, although now I would try eating some steak for breakfast as well).

I hope you have success with this CD!

Thank you! I'll be curious to see the results tomorrow. Also, this is 2% Fage. That's all they have at NYC delis near my office. Hope it works. If not, well at least it kept me satisfied through the day.

I feel nice and lighter than I did this morning. My wedding rings were even snug today. I hate waking up like that.

Hi all. After a day of weight training, eating WAAAY too much around the house yesterday, alcohol the previous night, and Bernice issues, I am up 2.7 pounds. But this is par for the course for me. Any time I do ANYTHING out of the ordinary--UP 2-3 pounds. It is what it is. I am still within my window but made an executive decision (thanks Millenia! ) to do a CD today since I will be away from home until late and I already had chicken thighs prepared. I've also got yoga tonight, weights tomorrow morning again, a concert tomorrow night and a day at home on Thursday, so those things always spell trouble in the way of weight gain for me. Call it a "preventative CD" since this is actually the best day for me to do one this week!

In other news, I get to work with two of my favorite peeps this week. You know how it is when you think alike and everyone knows their stuff and you're all on the same page so everything gets done just THAT MUCH faster? Yeah, it's like that! Anyway, hope everyone is starting their week off well.

Woohoo! I met my calories, and I feel great. I didn't eat enough yesterday and I was sure I wouldn't be able to today either. It just seems like so much food, but I did it and it was sooooo good and I don't feel stuffed.

Well I had a great past two days and cheated some because I was with the most wonderful guy I had pizza and baked potato on Sunday. Yesterday morning we ate the leftover pizza I was almost afraid of the scale after not weighing yesterday at all. Well I was this morning. I was 159.8. Oh my goodness, in the ONE FIFTIES!!!!!! I have been here since the early 20's or so. My BMI has now hit the top of the healthy area. A solid 150 here I come. Slow and steady wins the races. The past two days prove to me that my metabolism and body is reset to accept the carbs again.

Way to everyone! I hope that all the CDs work for each of you that need to get back down.

I have gained back the entire amount (2.9 lbs) that I lost on my GY CD the day before yesterday plus some. In one stinking day.

I did not do a CD today.

I am so discouraged. I've tried eating at eating at both the adjusted for sedentary/light activity BMR and tried eating in the middle between the two. Yesterday I tried eating at RMR X1.2. Doesn't seem to matter, I gain.

I'm eating very P3 and most of the time make healthy choices.

I don't even know what else to try anymore. Any suggestions?

Jodarina, count me in as discouraged as well. I don't know how many days I was down to my ALIW, since I didn't weigh for a few days, but today I'm right back up from yesterday's weighin. I thought I was stable and did well until just recently. As far as being finished with Round 5, it appears I may not keep barely half of the loss from that round- although I have been eating almost all P3 and in reasonable amounts. Yesterday was no different - protein, veggies, fruit. So today when I got on the scale and saw a gain right back up almost 2 whole pounds, I just decided today to eat what I wanted. I didn't do too bad, but I guess I start P2++ yet again. I just need a break.

And yes, of course I had dairy. Chocolate frozen yogurt! a LOT.

I'm still at my ALDW today despite dinner at Denny's at 9pm. I just snacked all day instead of having meals earlier in the day ( mainly fruit and cheese or fruit and almond butter) Then had the most amazing "skillet" from denny's. sausage, bacon, onion, peppers, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes, homefries, and two cheesey scrambled eggs. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I ate everything, but left about half of the potatoes. We ended up stopping because dd's flight came in at 7:30 our time, which was only 3:30 on her body clock -- needed dinner I had a few bites of everyone elses pancakes and such ( the pancake puppies taste like funnel cakes) Time to get my dd adjusted back to real life -- quite a switch from Disneyland!

Sending some virtual hugs to both of you.

Looking at my P3 thus far...I spent 8 days above my window the first two weeks, 5 days the next two weeks, and just one day in the almost last two weeks. It is slowly but surely improving, hope it will for you two as well. And if not, could either of you be having TOM or water weight fluctuations?

Garnet Hope you got a good number today. I also ended up about 500 calories over BMR (darn those almonds!), and ended up dropping .4. Hope it happened to you too!

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

I'm up .4 this morning. But over all still below my LDW. To be stabilized I need to just stay in my window for three weeks or stay right at the same weight?

There really is something to this.
I am kicking around the age old question of to P4 or not to P4, lol. I would really like to go back into P2 after this P3, lose the rest of my weight and then do a P3 and P4. Has anyone here cycled like that? If so, what have your experiences been? I can do a P4 but I would rather start losing again and I really don't plan on eating much P4 food because I really believe in low carb and don't think our bodies are meant to eat that many carbs. Especially in the form of bread, cake, etc. So I would love to hear any experiences on skipping P4 until done losing and then doing it.
Have a great day!

Brandi,
Glad to hear your are stabilizing. I'm in D4 of P4 and I'm also stabilizing. I lost from LDW of 197 to 192 and I've been holding there for 3 days. I'm still not eating the number of calories my bmr says so I probably need to add calories. I am going to follow protocol and wait 3 weeks before going back into load and round 2. That's just my thinking since I've not ever done this protocol before and want to make sure that I follow it as closely as I can. My reasoning, for what it is worth, is that Lord knows I've tried every other method and although I can lose weight I have ALWAYS gained the weight back and I do NOT want to ever do that again!!! Good luck in whatever decision you make!!!

C'Marie- as a fellow wheat/gluten free hcg'er, I highly recommend the book Artisnal Gluten Free Cooking! Their recipes are amazing and the book as received rave reviews (as has their cupcake book!). The couple has a blog too that I have really enjoyed called No Gluten, No Problem.

Oh and meant to ask--I'm about to go into P3 and was wondering which calorie counting program you all have found the easiest to use. I am NOT looking forward to having to count cals again...brings back bad memories of Weight Watchers and never losing any weight LOL
