Wow...bloodwork

I got the results from my bloodwork back:

Blood Sugar-80
A1C-4.9
Cholesterol-98 (!!!)
Triglycerides-60
good HDL/TC ratio

They've never been awful...but I'm diabetic...and these numbers are ridiculously good.

Cholesterol 98? That doesn't sound good.

It's good...my HDL is high enough and my triglycerides are good. It's the ratio that's most important and it's good. My total cholesterol has always been lowish (the highest it's ever been is 121).

Mine is low at 160 and was told by my doctor that anything under that is cause for concern.

My total cholesterol has never been above 130. The doctor has never had any concern about that.

me either, Pattie. It's not a problem unless your HDL is below 41. My TC will go back up a little bit when I get off P2, because I'll have some fat. They used to think that below 160 was responsible for higher rates of certain sorts of disease processes and episodes...but that turned out to be poor data in a flawed study. Currently, the only concern for low cholesterol numbers has to do with too little HDL or some people with depression or anxiety. Which only seems to be an issue with people who exhibit symptoms of...depression or anxiety. Haven't had any issues, so there are no concerns.

Check out that A1C...it's "normal"

I'm pretty tickled...my Dr was bubbly on the phone. He called, not the nurse! No more Metformin...yee haw. In fact...other than Benadryl, when I stop taking HCG...I won't be taking anything!

thanks, ladies! We will enjoy the lower pharmacy costs...will give me more $$ to use on better food. I'm not going back to hormone fed meat. I found a really good meat market, all free-range, wonderful people...happy to wrap larger purchases in single meal packs for me. I'm actually considering getting a 1/4 beef from them before it gets cold out. We are a little bit out in the country and our weather is not nice in the winter time. It makes it tougher to shop.

I feel really amazed...especially about the A1C. I expect it will go up some too eventually, but maybe not until P4 since P3 is VLC. I've been amazed at how good my sugar levels have been through this whole diet. I thought I might have problems since prior to my controlling with Metformin, I had some scary episodes of low blood sugar while working out. But it's been even Stephen the whole time. Weird! But lovely! And maybe...well, wishful thinking maybe, but maybe that steadiness has something to do with the reduced level of inflammation I've been enjoying and maybe, just maybe, that's not all going to come to a screeching hault when I stop the drops! (pleeeeeze Lord...I feel soooo good!)

I work with diabetic labs for my job and I was shocked that you have diabetes with that low of an A1C. Its the lowest Ive personally seen in a diabetic. Amazing job.

Congratulations Deb!!
One of the reasons I did HCG was my cholesterol that was always 145, suddenly went to 175. I'm looking forward to getting new blood work after I'm solidly into P3.

that is so very awesome!!

they ordered my tests a few months ago and my results were also ridiculously good. They said they were concerned mostly about one of my glucose tests several years ago that was on the high side of normal (I tried to tell them it was because I had chewed gum that day...whatever) and this time it was like 80...and my lipid panel has never looked as good. When I did atkins, my numbers were never this good...now...wow...thank goodness for hhcg I am lighter and healthier than ever...not bad for a 40-something broad!

That is fabulous!!! My DD was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and know that A1C is THE marker we all strive to get normal. That is a great number. DD's continues to go down and we are thrilled with each of those visits too. Good on ya

I am SO jealous of your A1C! Mine went from 8.4 to 6.5 so I am trending in the right direction. I am looking forward to my next blood draw since that was 2 months ago and I KNOW I am doing even better now!

Congrats to you!

thank you so much, all of you. I feel terrific...and it's been a couple of years since I could say that. Lilac...your A1C has really responded!!! You know it will be a ton better next time around. Mine will probably creep back up, since I'm still in P2 at this point. But at least it has plenty of creeping room now!

Beachagain...I'm 54...so...tons older than you! Good for you getting all this in order now, you young thang!

im curious now as i remember and old post by lilac stating that the hcg diet can actually *reset* for diabetics? i may not have my wording right and im not an expert on diabetes but i would think that would be an impressive effect.

my cholesterol has always been high, since i was a teenager. i am hoping for some amazing health benefit from this diet as the only time i have been able to control it on my own was when i was a strict strict vegan...its impossible to do this where i currently live and would like to have a little bit of flex in my diet while still maintaining my health.

time will tell, congrats again.

Thanks again, Layla. I don't think I saw what Lilac said about diabetes and HCG...but I'd like to. I wish I could "tag" her in this post, like on Facebook, to make sure she sees and can tell us.

When can you have a new lipid panel done? I will be very interested to hear how that goes when it happens!
