oh you know what? I remember my doctor saying something about insulin and the diet when referencing one of his other diabetic patients during the visit where I got the info and prescription. I will PM Lilac!

Hi there!

I don't remember WHO started the original thread, but there was some small study done in the UK with people who had been diagnosed with Type II for 4 years or shorter, 8 weeks of 600 calories seemed to "reverse" diabetes in quite a few of them. Not much other info, but I took it and ran with it just on the chance there was some truth to it!

Very Low-Calorie Diet May Reverse Diabetes

YOU KNOW WHAT???? I just had a thought...what if...HCG helps that process even more by causing your body to focus on releasing "abnormal" fat? Surely fat in the pancreas is "abnormal" since it creates disease. I wonder if that is what my Dr referred to (that I didn't listen to very well!)

Diva, I wanted to say that I have some of the same issues as you and had noticed about the hcg being somewhat of an anti-inflammatory all on its own as Pounds and Inches discusses. We had talked about that previously that on another thread.

I just wanted to update you - since I've been trying to follow a low-inflammatory diet on P4, I do believe I am doing somewhat better still. I have had to quit wheat and corn and almost all grains - and several different fruits and veggies that are higher on the inflammatory scale such as eggplant, tomatoes, oranges, PNB etc and also almost all dairy. Not sure why that has made a difference for me, and I'm not perfect at implementing it. For instance, I have been eating blueberries more, strawberries less, and the jury's out on whether switching this set of good foods for another set of good foods will continue to help. But the achyness is less at this point.

thank you Shelby, and C'Marie...I thank you for that update! I discussed food/inflammation with my doctor at my last visit. He said he thought yeah...that especially I needed to be careful with wheat (since I've had other symptoms of wheat sensitivity in the past) So intend to be really careful in Ps 3 and 4 reintroducing stuff I have done really well without in P2.

I tell you what...if it is the HCG and not the VLCD that causes these amazing health benefits, someone really needs to be exploring that for therapeutic purposes.
