Good job on the loses. Don't stress about your eating. Things will happen. It isn't the end of the world. We get kind of stuck on losing as much as we can as quickly as we can but it is a process. We all lose differently on this plan. Some lose 10 pounds, some lose 30, and some lose 1. It's all good.

my first round I did strict protocol and did the no PLANT oil thing. Mineral oil is fine which baby oil is. Baby oil is the bomb. We still use it. It takes makeup off and is great as a body lotion. I get mine at the dollar store. They have the oil, creamy and gel. I like all of it.

I found Oil free conditioner and sunscreen at Wallmart. The also carry the organic lines Giovanni and Jason. My original source of drops gave me a list of products. If you need something specific let me know.

If you do protocol it is a short list of foods and you can't mix veggies.

thanks for mentioning the other shakes, Deb! I think my hubs is going to do this eventually, and he may have a hard time with his work schedule (and place...we own some Sonic Drive-Ins!!! talk about TORTURE) It would good to have some options for him.

Thx girls! I did see Jason at GNC and Giovanni at a pharmacy here. Lord how I wish I had a Walmart to go to in this country! Each time I fly home, I spend hundreds in there trying to make up for lost time and load up before flying back here. I am trying to stay strictly on protocol but just wasn't sure about veggies like I had tonight, Broccoli. But saw a U tube that stated if you eat broccoli, take it down to 1 cup.

My big dilemma... Splenda or no splenda ? I've seen many say they are still using it and many say don't at all. Since beginning hcg, i've been using splenda in my iced tea as I have never heard of Stevia until reading Dr. Simeon's protocol. So I began researching to find out just how toxic Splenda really is but is that just hype? I have used Splenda ever since it came out and was so proud that I no longer kept sugar in my home and even went to diet sodas. I will go ahead and switch to Stevia if it really is necessary. I am err well I already have modified my life 100%. I am just trying to find it available without having to pay the outrageous price GNC here is selling it for.

I've done well with both Splenda and Stevia. I am under a Dr's care/instruction for this diet, and broccoli is on my list of allowed vegetables. I have had it a couple of times, and cauliflower, for variety.

Ok so no broccoli

I had a feeling.... Something told me last night at bedtime that I wouldn't do as well today during the weigh in. I was right. While I am thankful I didn't gain, I only lost .2lb, not even .5. Was it the broccoli ? Was it seasoning the roast with too many salts? Before i start getting adventurous with meals, I better get back down to strict protocol and stick to what Dr. Simeon only wrote about. Also, It took me over 2 hours to go to sleep and I didn't sleep well at all. Got up 4 hours later. I simply could not sleep. I dont want to get discouraged this early in the game. I am still thrilled about 7lbs in 5 days. Today I begin day 6 and will make sure it counts by tomorrow.

It's all good ! I'm still in it to win it !

Hi JillSully and Wife of a Pilot,
Have been reading your posts and wish you both much luck with the hcg. Stay with it, you can do it. Don't compare your journey with others. All our bodies are different. We, each of us, react differently to certain foods. I'm on my last day of round 1, phase 3 today. I will do 3 weeks of P4 (per Dr. Simeons Pound and Inches Protocol). On Sept 25 I will begin Round 2. This is a journey and I have learned something about me and my body and my reaction to certain foods in each phase. I had a few days when I was hungry since July 3 when I started this journey. I was told to add a few additional drops if I was hungry. That worked. You may have to adjust your dosages based on your particular needs. For me, this experience has been about me and my control of my diet and eating. I wish you both much success with your program. Continue to post and read others experiences!! Read P&I. The Protocol works and has worked for thousands of people thru the years!!! I'll look forward to hearing about your successes!!!!

Best RX Yet!

Katiesmemaw,

10 minutes ago I just got off the scale (it is 8:30am here) and was nearly in tears. I immediately jumped on the forum to see what it is I am doing wrong. the .2 came back to me which puts me at 0 weight loss yesterday. Yesterday I was very strict, worked all day, I felt hungry most of the day but stuck to my guns. I showed property until nearly 8pm in very hot and humid temps so definitely sweated alot! So why on earth did i not lose and worse, put the .2 back on? Then I read your post...

THANK YOU! I needed to read that

Bingo Wife!!!
The seasoning on the roast may, just may, have been the issue. In P3, I grilled some minute steaks on the grill. I used a "Chicago steak seasoning" I just purchased. It didn't contain sugar or any starches. I used it freely and found out it was salty as brine. We ate the meat but the next day I had actually gained 1.6 pounds. the next day I went down .4. It actually took a couple of days to lose all 1.6 and get below that weight. Sooooooo, just hang in there stay true to the protocol, don't panic and it WILL come off!!!
Today is my day 1 of P4. For the first time since the day I started hcg on July 3 I ate grits, a western omelette AND a piece of toast with a tsp of strawberry jam. I'm anxious to see the scale tomorrow to see just what effect this will have and whether I will be a true believer in the "resetting of the hypothamus!!" or not. I continue my journey!!!!

On HCG you tend to lose in whooshs. As the fat leaves the cells, the cells fill up with water, then you lose the water in a whoosh. This can be 2-3 days apart. Increasing your salt intake will increase the retention of water. Hang in there. In some ways weighing every day is not for everyone. It is helpful to weigh at least weekly and in P3 and P4 you have to weigh every day. If fluctuations freak you out try weighing every 3-4 days and don't forget to measure. We are not only losing fat but it may move around. Don't forget the inches part of pounds and inches!!

This is important information, very well put, so I'm quoting it

Remember that stress, even getting worked up and frustrated by what your scale says, or being nervous and apprehensive about what it might say, can cause hormone cascades that cause your body to act out like a spoiled child and try, desperately, to hang on to your fat stores...because it is panicking and thinks your behavior indicates you are trying to kill it Okay...that is a dramatization But it's pretty much exactly what happens. Your bod thinks it's just fine...and when you try to lose part of it forever, you can't expect that the parts of your genetics that are designed for your preservation to think that's such a great idea. One of the real keys to this thing, for me, has been staying very relaxed about the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. I've had really good luck with that. My doc told me that I could weigh as often as I could be relaxed about weighing. If that was everyday, fine. If it was once a week, fine. If that was freaking me out, to put my scale in the garage and come into the office to be weighed at the end of the month. I have found that I'm fine with weighing every day except the ones when I'm up way earlier than I normally weigh. That makes me unhappy (because it's higher than it would be in 3 hours), so I skip those days. I will change my scale habits when I go on to P3, but this is working nicely for P2

Thanks lbibclc and Privatediva,
Ya'll always have such insights and "steadfastness" about this journey. Privatediva, I SAW your lab work. They were absolutley wonderful. Congrats on leaving the Metformin behind!!! When all is said and done it is about living a longer and healthier life!!! Thanks again!!
Oh me oh my....I almost forgot to mention. My weight this morning after the cheesy omelette, grits, toast and strawberry jam yesterday was EXACTLY the same as the day before. I am becoming a complete believer in the resetting thing!!!! I love hcg!!!

Good morning ladies!!! I am finally back to post a bit. I have been working so much the last few days between territories that I've not had time to blog or anything. I have stuck to the protocol and the weight loss is slow, but its weight loss! I am sure that I am retaining water as i have been seasoning like crazy so that I don't cheat. This morning, no gain/no loss but yesterday I didn't even get lunch til 5pm! It was that kind of day. I am trying to sort out what types of food I can keep in the car when I'm gone all day showing villas. I'm moving into the development I'm managing so that will help alot. Any suggestions ? Jilly where are you ?

Celery sticks, cucumber with Walden farms dips or salad dressing. I always saved my melba for emergencies.

I found magnesium to be the most effective for calling "Bernice" I am never regular anyway but taking in a small amount of food makes it worse. Not much in, not much out. I think the veggies are really important.
