Is there somewhere I can positively find thickening agent?

We don't have the Bob's Red Mills products here (NY). Or Publix, etc. We only have Path Mark, Stop N Shop, Key Foods, etc.

We do have Trader Joe's, but Whole Foods is not close enough. Vitamin Shoppe didn't have these either.

Anywhere I can positively find any of the thickening agents (low carb) for stews?

Vitamin Shoppe has the glucomannan powder, I just got it there and it's a good thickening agent. I had to ask, but it's there!

Guar gum and Xanthan gums are two more that you can usually find at Vitamin Shoppe...

LOL! omg. I went there last week and asked for xantham gum. They said "here is the only gum we have." I should have just looked myself. Where would I find it?

I am fond of saying "Head, wall---bangbangbang" so I found that ^^^ amusing!

They usually have this stuff in the natural food section of vitamin stores. Many times near the sweeteners, if they have them.
