HALLELUJAH!!!

Today is a good day....my TOM has finally arrived and I have broken my stall...down one pound today!

Saw friend last night who told me that her doctor said she couldn't do hcg because cancer ran in her family. Anyone else ever hear that? Sounds like a load of bs to me, but I am not all that trusting of "your average doctor."

I told her she should just do the homeopathic hcg then. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Just realized, I think I will start another thread....

I SURVIVED!

Just got out of an office September birthday's celebration - carbs up the wazoo - they did have fruit so I picked out the strawberries and a few pieces of cantaloupe (my splurge) and that's it! I didn't have any of the various cakes (4 choices) or ice cream that was offered!

I did SQ injections in my first round and am doing hHCG this time and feel much better on the Intermountain homeopathic version. Weight loss for me is the same either way.

I found I had to eliminate table salt of all kinds and take additional potassium to minimize swelling, and don't seem to be experiencing that now. The additional homeopathic support in the Intermountain formula seems to be helping with my insulin resistance and insulin levels as my blood sugars are much better now, eating the exact same foods as I ate on P2 in round 1.

Insulin is the hormone that converts carbs to fat. If you are eating the grissini/melba toast, you could try eliminating those. Cutting out oranges and apples could also help, as both of those stimulate insulin release more than strawberries or grapefruit. You might want to experiment to see if any of that helps.
Thanks! I think I'm just pear-shaped, and I don't know why I thought my basic shape would change with dieting.

Down 0.8 lbs today and very happy! I have 10 more to go, but I just don't want to do longer than 23 days of hCG this round. I find the last two weeks of the 40 day round become very difficult for me, so I'm going to P3 next Friday, try to stabilize for a few weeks, then return to P2 again when I feel ready to lose those last 10 pounds (and hopefully by then, it will still be just 10!)

Do you need to stop taking the homeopathic drops during TOM. Mine arrived this morning. Does hcg effect TOM at all? Longer, shorter, heavier, lighter, no difference. Any pros or cons to continue taking hhcg or not taking hhcg during TOM?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Kendra, no, you dont need to stop them. If you were doing rx hcg, you might skip a day or two, but even then, you dont have to, just some people have slightly longer or heavier flows. Me, it was less frequent.. and normal flow...

Thank you thank you thank you.

I think mine is lighter but I use a menstrual cup and so until I check it again I won't know. I am surprised also that I am usually 2 days late but I started right on the 28th day and I do not have any of the cramping or aching I usually have but

Hi everybody!

Back from a hiatus caused by Hurricane Irene -- just now getting power back, getting kids back to school, able to cook again, in other words, REAL LIFE!

Just made the Biz P2 shake (OK, can I say "I'm drinking baby poop"? that is the possibly the worst looking food item I've ever seen in my life) and am ready to rock and roll! P2 (again) here I come!

Great job with your loss! And thanks for taking the time every week to start the new weekly threads.

Today is VLCD #4 and I'm down another 1.8 lbs and a total of 8 lbs so far. Did I mention I hcg?
I never thought of that, and I think you are doing great with how you are handling the cooking challenges. I eat the same thing every day and always weigh my food raw. I normally eat only ground beef and once a week eat some cod. I measure out the portions, freeze them, and grab them as I need to cook them. You are doing great all around, so KUTGW!

I am not going to look for the other thread (no time this morning), but I did a quick Google search under "HCG cancer" and apparently this risk is real, at least according to what I read on the first link I clicked on. It is a health forum, and from the posts there, many people have developed cancers after using HCG, both men and women, although it is not clear to me whether the cancer was there and undetected and HCG only furthered it or whether it arose from using the HCG. The cancers reported were everything from cervical cancer to prostate cancer, in people who had no history of it in the past.

The reason this caught my attention is that I have a number of growths (seborrheic keratoses) on my torso that are benign, usually attributed to aging, and nothing to worry about or do anything about. Because I took nude "before" and "after" photos on my first round, I had a record of what these growths looked like at the end of my first round, on June 30.

For no reason in particular, on Monday I decided to look at my back to see if my "love handles" had gotten any smaller and was shocked to see that all of these growths on my back had gone from light brown to black. I was examined on Thursday and the physician has ordered a biopsy on one of them to see if they have become malignant or not. The rest will be removed after the results from the first procedure are known. I am scheduled for the biopsy on September 13. I was not really worried about this until I read all of those reports about the link between HCG and cancer. In any event, I am taking care of it and will see what comes back from the test.

Apparently some tumors release HCG and if someone is NOT pregnant and not supplying HCG externally, it's a marker for the presence of the cancer. The immune system doesn't act against the cancer because it "thinks" the person is pregnant, even if the person is male.

I can't post the link to that forum because there are HCG ads on that page and it would be a violation of the TOS for this site. You can do the same Google search that I did and see what comes up for you.

My own doctor put me on HCG and I had to sign a waiver of liability regarding any outcome that might come from using it, but the only risks that I knew of were about gout and other consequences of a low-carb diet, so it never occurred to me that there could be OTHER risks that hadn't been mentioned. He may not know about them, and they certainly weren't mentioned in either P&I OR Kevin Trudeau's book. I have not heard of this before, so I am glad you brought this up!

Checking in today with a 0.6 loss again, so maybe that water retention is leaving. I tend to lose slowly and steadily and the only gains I have had in this round had an identifiable cause (like drinking really salty fish juice! )

There are just too many of you doing great to respond to each of you one by one, so to all, Congratulations! We are a great group of losers! KUTGW!

When I did my 1st round in March, my TOM came early for 2 months,1st TOM heavier than usual, then next it was about the same - then I went back to my normal cycle. But hcg definitely changed what was going on w/TOM a bit - maybe hormones stored in fat were released, maybe the hcg itself.
~~~
Down .2 today - I'll take it!~ 12 lbs total this round and tomorrow is my LAST DAY! I decided not to go longer than a short cycle b/c I have a date w/my husband Monday (the first in months) and I want to have a nice steak dinner. Nom.
VLCD60, 189.8, +,2, BUT I totally expected it, I starved myself all day yesterday because I made DH's birthday dinner last nite and invited our families over, it was ALL completely homemade mexican food, man I LOVE to cook/eat mexican....I did NOT go overboard and I did not eat any beans or rice. So hopefully I don't experience the dreaded 2 day effect...wish me luck!!
I am down 1.6 this morning, .6 was what I gained when I had the road trip on Thurs. so I lost that plus another pound. I have one more day on P2 but may extend it a day or two as I want to get into the 130's this round.
Happy losing everyone and have a good weekend.
Incredibly, I lost a pound yesterday and another pound today. This has never happened to me before! I hope tomorrow there won't be a surprise gain. I'm 129.8 this am--I finished my last round at 127.4, so wherever I wind up in the next 3 days of hCG for this 23 day round, I'll be happy.
I'm not going to extend this round to lose those last 10 pounds, because I really, really want to end this round. I hope I stabilize in P3.
Continued good luck to all of you!
OMG!!! I thought the minimum course for hCG was 23 days, but it is only 20!!!! So that means this morning was my last dose of hCG, and on Tuesday I can start P3!!!!!! Yipeee!!!!
Great job on the loss! I too thought the minimum round was 23 days...21 of VLCD w/hhcg and 2 days VLCD without hhcg. Where did you see that it's only 20 days? I'm curious. Are you doing RX or homeopathic? Maybe that's the difference?
Today's food:
Grilled chicken breast, sliced tomato, grissini, orange
Top round london broil, asparagus, grissini, apple
Up early this morning feeling really good and down 2.2 lbs
I see why people don't understand this protocol unless they do it. I was a naysayer 6 months ago thinking my SIL and her friends and family were "messing with mother nature" and eating a dangerously inadequate diet. I did keep researching it over that time because they and then others were seeing such great results and were not wasting away and getting sick. Once I saw a reduction in her problem areas yet still a vibrant healthy (including weight) person I was sold.
The thing people forget to say about the 500 calorie diet is it does not include the stored fat (abnormal) that is being burned (consumed with all its nutrients and unwanted toxins, detox) that adds calories. I think it was estimated at 1500-2000 a day. I believe it now. The only people I mention this protocol to is the ones I know will do their own due diligence with a capacity to understand it completely.
Happy day and looking forward to driving by all those restaurants I used to think I wanted to stop and eat at
Have a great weekend everybody.
Good Morning! R2VLCD14 and I can't believe it! I'm also down .8. Most of Round 1 and so far all of Round 2, I've made oranges my two fruits per day. Today, I decided to have strawberries as my morning fruit. I don't know why I haven't ventured out. The last time I did apples, they made me gassy, but I may try them warmed with cinnamon.
Have a great day everyone!
Oh, you are right! I always thought it was 23 days, and then I read somewhere that the minimum course was 20 days, but unfortunately it IS 23 days! Well, I'll just have to deal with it (I'm doing sublingual rx hCG) because I am feeling very weak and tired, and I took my last sublingual dose yesterday am, so that I could start P3 on Tuesday (72 hours after the last dose).
Hopefully it will be okay. I didn't stabilize after my last two rounds, and that was with doing everything right! So maybe this time will be different.
Oddly enough, when I have just decided I've had enough of the VLCD, I lose TWO pounds from yesterday to today. WTH!!!!! Well I took my last sublingual hCG yesterday am, and will be moving into P3 on Tuesday, which I'm really looking forward to.
See you in P3!
You know Garnet - the same thing has happened to me on all 4 rounds. But I am always ready to quit after the 23 days that I can't keep going. Unfortunately - I'm on R5P2D16 and have lost a total of .2 in the last 3 days - can't wait for Friday. I'm a whopping 3 lbs. below my ldw from the last round. Hoping I can lose those last 6 lbs. in the next 5 days!
Tricialy, you never know! I lost 4 pounds in 3 days. Never happened before on any other round after the first week. I'm worried I'm going to gain them back rapidly, so I'm going to enter P3 much more slowly than before.
Good luck! My rapid weight loss happened after a 5 day stall, so you may be due for a big drop.
Sipping my coffee w/half and half as I type - off to P3, y'all!
I went from 170 (post-load) to 157.6 this a.m., and 7.4 was "new" fat. I know that's not as huge as many of your losses, but I'll take it! I'm going to do an extended P3 w/a little P4 action after the 1st 3 weeks then back on the saddle again half-way through October! That's what I'm *really* excited about!
Oh - and this past week, although I "only" lost 2.8 lbs, I dropped 8 inches!!! Ca-razy.
