I know the feeling. My husband eats Ben & Jerry's, pizza, burritos, potato chips, everything in front of me. In fact, they're always in the house and I'm home alone with the stuff all day! I also bake for my husband every week, and I honestly thought the warm peach crisp over vanilla ice cream this week was going to be it for me, but I instead treated myself to a glass of diet cream soda and told myself it tasted like whipped cream! It is hard, but I don't mind it because the results are better than I have gotten doing anything else and I'm feeling good!Well, except for when my husband took the pic of me and the dog on the couch last night. I feel so good losing 23 pounds that I kind of forgot I was still fat and when he showed me the pic, I was in disbelief for a minute! Back to reality. I still have 40 pounds to lose and going back to my old habits is not going to get me there, or keep me there!I'm already worried about what I'm going to gain in September when we head to CT for a long weekend. Casinos, alcohol, italian food, and a certain little chocolatier in the mountains near a little Bed & Breakfast (w/ wonderful food) are planned. A round 2 will follow soon after. I'm also wondering if I should count that as loading and start as soon as I get back, or if I should do correction days to get back down before I start. It seems like I am just looking forward to the next time I can "eat", whether it's a vacation, loading days or holidays. I'm already planning them. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get to goal and won't have any more loading days to look forward to!

I keep saying to myself 14 more days until P3....14 more days...![]() Corey, I completely agree with what you said here: I still have 40 pounds to lose and going back to my old habits is not going to get me there, or keep me there! I'll have about 30 lbs to go when I'm done with this round, and my old habits aren't going to help me get them off. Thanks for the reality check. And your weekend in CT sounds blissful. I hope you have a great time!

You ladies with lots of food around you all the time...and lots of eating people...I admire your tenacity! I've been pretty lucky to have avoided completely all but a handful of times having to be in the middle of that. Especially now that there is light at the end of my tunnel vision about VLCD, it would be pretty hard for me to deal with. (and my potential to be grumpy about it is pretty high) I have a serious fear that my students are going to get a cake for my birthday on Saturday. We have a pre-audition vocal workshop that day and they all know I agreed to come in for it on my birthday and have made a big deal about thanking me for that...eeeek...nothing is quite as hard on my resolve as...frosting! I may play the "diabetes card" if I have to. At least being diabetic is good for something! I'm just too close to home plate to slip even once. If there's cake...I will think of you ladies and say "That's so nice of you...please, everyone, eat up!" and quietly RUN AWAY AS FAST AS I CAN
![]() I'm down another pound this morning. I'm starting to dig my BMI numbers. 23.3 today. I'd like an even 22 before I finish. Good morning, good Wednesday...I am getting my hair cut and nails done today as my pre-birthday treat to myself. Zero calories, but somehow very delicious. Corey...Diet Creme Soda DOES taste like whipped cream! It is a lovely diversion. ![]()

I'm down 1.4 this morning. Hooray mini-whoosh!
![]() ![]() And now, for a little perspective self-lecture: When I started this diet I just wanted to lose 20 lbs in 40 days. I figured that was .5 lb/day average, which is what my dr told me I could expect, so I thought ok, 185.4 would be a fantastic weight after 40 days. I'm now .8 away from it with 12 days left so I need to quit my whining. I'll probably hit closer to 180, a weight I haven't seen in probably 7 - 8 years! Yippee!! |

Corey - sorry you're struggling a bit!
It took me several days to solidify my hold on the 180s. I think my body knew somehow I was anxious to see it go down, down, down! Keep it up - it will keep going. ![]() Drew - AWESOME JOB!!! WOO HOO!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And change your stats, would you please? ![]() |

Good morning ladies. I'm up .6 today. I wasn't expecting much after 2 days of good losses, but up .6? Really? This down/down/up/up pattern is getting tiresome. And TOM seems to have started a week early today, but I didn't get my warning blinding headache as usual the day before. Weird.

My menu for yesterday. I'm thinking that if I start posting what I eat we can either figure out my problem or it will help keep me on the straight and narrow!
![]() B: Coffee w/ 2 T FF Half and Half L: Cheese, cottage, lowfat, 2% milkfat 4 oz w/ Strawberries, raw 4 oz. S: grissini 3 pcs D: Chicken, breast, roasted, broiled, or baked, skin not eaten 5 oz. Lettuce & Tomato salad w/ Walden Farms Sesame Ginger Dressing 4 liters of water Total Calories 432 Ok, now that I posted my menu, I can see the things that could be problems. I've eaten melba and grissini all along, but maybe I need to cut them now. The dressing and mixing vegetables have never bothered me before but I guess thats something else to look at. Maybe I need an apple day. ![]() |

![]() Maybe the cottage cheese is stalling you? I know some are able to eat it with no problem, but my dr was adamant about not having it (or any dairy product) when I asked him. I'd also try cutting out the grissini & melba. I haven't had either in weeks...it was the first thing to go when I stalled. ![]() |

Good morning all. Down .5 this morning. Yesterday was a long day. Glad to be on the other side of it. I was up so early (4 am) that I didn't weigh and by last night, I was feeling terrible...weak, wobbly, kind of sick-ish. So...I made myself a bowl of garlic mashed cauliflower and didn't feel the least bit "bad" about making myself feel better with it. It worked nicely...very comforting. I will be home nursing the newly wisdom toothless daughter until afternoon, then headed to the baseball game where I get to pretend that I don't absolutely adore disgusting ball park polish sausage with sauerkraut and yellow mustard. I can, in fact, have that...later.
