How did *you* determine how long to stay on P2?

I know there are minimums and maximums, but there are a lot of days in between. So how did you decide? And how long did you end up doing?

I think you mean P2 - the Hcg phase? If so, the first round I did the maximum dosage days (I did rx hcg) but I actually started out thinking that I would just do the three week minimum. After three weeks I was feeling good, really happy with how my losses were going, and not too sick of the food so I just kept going! For R2 - I have a work trip coming up and I knew I wanted to be on P3 for a little while before I leave so I just did the three weeks (plus a few days due to TOM).

It's really a personal choice. IMO if you're feeling good, losing weight, and can still stomach the food why lose the momentum?!

my doctor has no problem with me staying in P2 until I'm to goal. So that's what I'm doing. I'm on day 42, and plan to go to the end of the month, which ought to work out about right. I just want to be done and he's had very good results during P3, P4 and beyond with his patients who have done extended rounds.

That's a good question--I'm trying to decide right now when to stop. I'm in a spree of small milestones--first, I just broke through a recurring stall point that I haven't been less than in at least a decade. Now, I'm a pound and change away from an even 20 pound loss for my first hcg round, and I'm also 2 pounds and change from moving from the "overweight" to the "healthy weight" category on ******, so I just keep holding on....

Think my body's about had it, though--losses are getting... VERY.... S L O W......

I've done P2 before, and after 3 weeks I wasn't losing much of anything, so I stopped. I was mentally drained and just couldn't do it any more. I am hoping that I can stay on it longer this time because I'm better prepared and have more recipes to try.

I also have a wedding to go to in Cancun in mid-October, so I'm trying to plan for that.

I'll be there from Friday until Monday, and I'm nervous about everything. I've never been to Mexico before, and I have a "weak" stomach. I'm worried about what I'll be able to eat when there that will keep me on plan as well as keep me healthy. I don't want to be sick on an airplane, nor do I want to be sick over a weekend that has cost me a small fortune..

You won't get sick in Cancun--they have a water treatment plant and completely safe water.

However, you can take PeptoBismal prophylactically starting a few days before your trip, and all through your trip. It coats your digestive tract and prevents it from playing host to unfamiliar microorganisms. This has been proven to be equally effective as prescription antibiotics (which, if you are really worried about it, you can also see your doctor for.)

Cancun is VERY commercial, and you won't find it intimidating or primitive or anything. You're going to have a great time!

Thank you I hope so! It's my bil who is getting married, and I will be with my inlaw's allllll weekend long, with the added stress of a wedding, so I'm a bit nervous.

And I'm wondering if I should do P3 or 4 while there. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing another round as I have about 30 lbs to lose.

exactly what verbqueen said. You are not likely to get sick at all, and the great thing is that there will very likely be an abundance of perfectly beautiful fresh food to pick from. Can't help with that in-law thing though (shudder)

I had lots of rounds to do, so I chose to do 35-40 day rounds because of the minimum P3/P4 time required between the rounds if you follow protocol. I only did one short round due to scheduling issues. Once I get in the game, I tend to settle in and it's easy to keep going to the 40 day max when you're on Rx... again, that is IF you follow protocol. I realize not everyone does.

I'm ending my first round on day 49 (August 22) due to a trip in September that I'd like to be in P4 for. I want to make sure I have 3 weeks to stabilize before then. I'd keep it going otherwise as long as I was still losing 3 pounds a week like I am now. I'll be doing another round after 6 weeks and then one more after Christmas which should be my final round.

mmmmmmgood idea! )) I'm scared stiff about the holidays. I need to stop that and trust that this works the way it's supposed to afterward as well as it works during...as long as I do my bit. I've been doing my bit on other plans for a couple of years...and my bit wasn't enough to make them work. Apparently, I should relax

First of all, ! The Stargazer lily is my favorite! I have a gorgeous tattoo of one on my shoulder!

YMMV as far as how long to do a round on homeopathic hcg. It has been said over and over again that your body will just tell you. Mine did not really tell me it was ready, I was still losing up until my 91st day, and what made me FINALLY go into P3 was:

1) my upcoming trip to Vegas. I wanted to be in P4 by then so I could enjoy eating out for 3 meals a day.

2) the obvious start of protein deficiency (here is where I suppose my body WAS telling me something, lol). This was my fault for following protocol the whole time without upping my protein.

3) I couldn't stand the mental pressure of weight fluctuations any more. I tend to retain a lot of water for no reason and I would go up 5 lbs, down 6 lbs, up 3 lbs, etc. It was making me a bit batty.

These three things considered, I honestly rocked my P2. I worked hard at it. Would I do it again for my next round though? Well, no. But only because I don't have as much to lose!

Thank you! I love Stargazers too, hence the name

Where are you staying in Vegas? First trip? I've been 4 times (one of those visits was my honeymoon ). Would love to go back soon!

I have a question about your reason #2. I haven't heard anyone mention upping their protein while on P2. Is that for people who do extended rounds? Right now I'm having trouble envisioning myself going beyond the minimum

I need to read about P4 because I'm wondering if that's where I want to be when I go to Cancun. I thought about trying to work it so I could FL for another round, but I don't think I want to bring my HHCG drops with me.

I'm staying downtown this time at the 4 Queens. I've been lots and always stay on the new Strip (MGM Grand, Venetian, etc) and frankly, I'm over the new Strip, lol. Hubby and I are renewing our vows with an Elvis impersonator for our 10 yr anniversary, lol.

As far as my reason #2, yes it was because of my extended round. Simeon mentions protein deficiency in P&I and I really wish I would have upped my protein towards the end. My nails starting becoming really soft and I have strong nails that never break.

Even now, a week into P3 and eating tons of protein, I'm still craving tons and tons of it. I just told a co-worker who is leaving for vacation - when asked if I wanted anything brought back for me - to please bring me back a cow and a cleaver.

When I did my first round of P2, I stayed on for the 21 days because of my schedule. I was going on vacation for my first P3 day and didn't want to vacation on the hcg or 500 calories. So if it had not been for that I would have gone on longer. How much longer, I cannot say! But essentially my calendar told me when to stop.

And this is my 8th round. Again the calendar is going to dictate when I stop. I started earlier the end of July and have an event on the weekend of 9/10-9/11 to attend and want to be done with the hcg and 500 calories by then. So in answer to your question, the calendar and my plans tell me when to finish a round.

I stopped at day 46 when I found myself wandering off checking out other programs because the losses were slowing so much and I was board. Stopped the pellets the next day, jumped into P3, was reinvigorated and very happy I did. Yes I know I was supposed to do P2 for another couple days, but couldn't do it and it worked out for me (actually lost a couple more lbs). Now I'm starting R2.

Bless you for the good wishes! I appreciate it a LOT.

Alas, I'm stuck again--not a speck of loss since the 1 pound apple day loss. Should I do ANOTHER apple day, or just stay the course, ladies? I have not veered one iota from protocol, so I think this is just my body desperately trying to hang onto its comfort zone...

I think I'd try another apple day. It was also recommended to me here to alternate calories because my body (after so many years of dieting) was most likely jumping into starvation mode. I tried that with the apple day and had some good success.
