Just not hungry...

Is this normal? I am on P3D5 and my appetite today has been LAME. I was not hungry at breakfast, so I assumed I would eat a big lunch. But lunch time came and I could only pick at my salad. I ate the chicken and the avocado but everything else more or less wilted until I threw it away a few hours later.

Now it is dinner time and the thought of eating anything right now is literally making me

What gives?

I wasn't very hungry on P3 either. I think it's the low carb thing. Eat some fruit, especially strawberries. That usually pushes the hunger button for me. You need to eat right now or you'll gain.

Well, I have been having a fruit a day. Right now I am drinking a strawberry protein shake with a splash of hwc and a handful of frozen strawberries added.

Could it maybe be because I have OD'd on protein? That's the funny thing, I still want to eat protein and fat! Just nothing else.

Make sure you eat enough protein for your basic needs, darlin.... you don't want to gain water from not enough of that good stuff.

I think - just my opiniom....
That when you ended Phase 2...you were on an adrenaline high. You made it - you hit your goal and then some.....
Now where you are today is where most of us are at the beginning of phase 3....no real appetite, think you are going to want all of this wonderful and then...bleh.

In other words...at least for me....it is normal, and it happened on both rounds.
So for me - the protein shakes worked wonders in making sure I kept the protein levels up

Give yourself a couple of days.....

Me too...

I know when my body is rid of sugars/carbs, all my cravings and just interest in food go out the window with it. I just don't really care about eating right now. Such a far cry from a girl who once could not get food off her mind!

Today is my first day on p3 and I havent been hungry at all either. I got all excited to make bacon and eggs for breakfast and I practically had to force the eggs to go down....Lunch I had double the protein that I normally do and at dinner I made that wonderful deep dish pizza......and could barely get 2 small slices down. Then I felt sick...I hope it passes, I definitely dont want to screw myself up on this phase...hope we both get this ironed out!

(Your appetite for good healthy food will increase a bit)
Just don't eat crap... and stir up cravings.

This happened to me last year when I was on P3. Eventually my hunger came back. I agree with the previous poster....try strawberries. They seem to trigger my hunger too.

How are you feeling now? Is your appetite back any?

I have been eating strawberries every day! P3D8 for me, still not really hungry. Which is weird, because my first 2 days on P3, I was insanely ravenous and glutted myself to overload. I guess after a lifetime of overeating, I won't complain. I am concentrating on fat and protein, taking my vitamins for anything else. Calories yesterday were right around 1200, not intentionally, I forgot to eat dinner if you can believe it. But my fat was around 80 grams, and my protein was over 100 grams.

I can relate. I'm a little behind you in days, but I'm noticing that I have to make myself think about eating, because the hunger/cravings just aren't there.

Almonds are helping me snack my way up the calorie chain, I'm having a good bit of cream with my big coffee, and I'm adding butter to EVERYTHING I cook, lol.
