Neverending... TOM!

okay, I'm going on 5 full days... this is NOT normal for me. Three days are my max.. this is round 2 and I don't remember having this issue last round... today is the last day of P3. Do you think adding some carbs would make it stop?

Wow that is tricky!! I don't think that adding in carbs would have anything to do with TOM. I believe that C'Marie has some ideas on this that she got from her doctor. One of those suggestions I remember is taking cinnamon. I hope she pops in to give you some other ideas. But I do remember that carbs is NOT one of the solutions!!! This just happens because your hormones have a lot to do with TOM and hcg messes with them. Perfectly normal for your TOM to not be normal after finishing a round.

On my second round p3, I had a heavy TOM that lasted more than 3 SOLID WEEKS. It didn't stop again until I restarted the hhcg (earlier than planned) -- that seems to have stopped it.. I do think hhcg messes with the cycles quite a bit.

Acupuncture made mine stop, and they mentioned that they treat many women on hcg this way. Do you have a local clinic that you can go to?

My naturopath told me to take the max dose of ibuprofen and have a LOT of cinnamon - I put like 2 tsps in some applesauce, and had it several times a day. I dried right up.

I took the max dose of Aleve this morning (didn't read this til now, same thing essentially in my opinion, since they are both nsaids) so maybe that will help and i will try to add cinnamon to my coffee tomorrow and do the ibuprofen suggestion.

This didn't happen last round. But I lost more weight this round and I am keeping it off within a pound up and down.

It's a little unsettling, since this is the first time I've had ANY abnormality in my cycle. I've had pretty much perfect 26 day day cycles with three days of actually having a period, tapering off each day since I was in my teens. With the exception of the two years I was on Yaz, didn't really have one at all.

It may not be just the HCG affecting it. Weight can dramatically affect it. Just try to relax. If after a few more days it hasn't gone away call your doc.

Yes...HCG or no HCG, one thing a woman can count on in this life is that the way we've always been does not guarantee the way we will be at any future point in our life.

Any reason you can't eat a bunch of cinnamon today? Why wait till tomorrow? it dried me up within a day and a half! I put it in like a teeeeensy bit of applesauce and just swallowed it and chased it with water.

LOL no cinnamon at work! ? !

It really doesn't matter what you put it in if you just put it in something and basically chug it....

They do make cinnamon capsules if you can't choke it down without some help. I take it coz it's supposed to be good for diabetes. I buy the capsules.

Bear this in mind--the Atkins main lobby is usually full of posts with questions about menstrual irregularities, as is every weight loss board out there! Because losing weight causes a release of estrogen, and that alters the cycle. The most common questions are about too frequent and too long periods. It is VERY, VERY common.

I'm not discouraging you from seeking medical advice, but just wanted you to know that this is a very typical thing to happen when a woman loses a lot of weight quickly. So try not to fret too much!

Thank you everyone for your advice. I woke this morning to NOTHING!

I agree it's probably estrogen, I've got a lot of fat and it's the main storage place for these hormones unfortunately.

I had TOM during my 2nd week of HCG, and now I think I have it again (not sure if it's just spotting yet). My main issue with the irregularity is that I'm on the Pill too, and I don't know how to keep taking it, let alone how to have the prescription filled 2 weeks early (insurance issues). ugh
