Newbie with a question
Hi all!
I've ordered my hHcg and it should arrive tomorrow. In the meantime, I've been reading about what to expect until my eyes bleed. This forum is by far the most informative and inspiring I've found. Thank you for that. One quick question: I will start loading on Wednesday, 8/10. I'm currently 5'6, 195 lbs. My goal is to fit into last year's shorts before a family vacation to Anaheim on October 6th. So, the question is: How many days should I take the HCG? I have enough time to do a full forty days, but after that I won't have a full three weeks to stabilize. So, should I cut my losses and do a 20ish day cycle? I guess the question is, how essential is the stabilizing period length? Or, alternatively, is this something I can take a wait and see attitude about?(punny, right?) |

IMHO stabilizing is THE most important part of this whole deal . If you don't give yourself adequate time to stabilize then you could gain very quickly afterwards. I think the minimum P3 (or stabilization phase) is 3 weeks. If I understand right you need to actually be stable (within your 4lb) window for a week or 2 before you move on to p4 (adding in starches and sugars). According to protocol a minimum round is 23 days (21 on drops and 2 VLCDs after drops) If it were me I'd do a shorter round and have the appropriate time for stabilizing. Some of the ladies who have done other things will hopefully chime in and give you their opinion on what they have done![]() BTW my dd will be in Anaheim the first week in Sept. She's flying with her Grandparents to visit my brother who just relocated there for work. Of course they are going to disneyland and my dd is beside herself with excitement ![]() |

Jane, this is my first round, but I feel I've read enough of the girls' experiences on this forum to give you this advice: Do as long a round as you can fit in with a full 3 week P3 to stabilize.
I lost about 14 pounds in the first 3 weeks and I haven't been strict protocol, so if you are, I'm sure you can lose more than I did. Good luck to you! |

I did a 38 day round my 1st time and didnt make it to 40 days! I have since done shorter rounds (the 23 day rounds, 21 on hcg, 2 off w vlcd), for my last 2 rounds. I agree with the others that P3 is very important and i wouldnt skip it. So do the 23 day round, and do your p3 properly, that way when you go on vaca, you would be in p4 and can have a few bites of carbs here and there!

I think you would be better served to cut your 40 day P2 back a bit and do a full 3 week P3. Without the stabilization period you may be wasting your time and frustration. You can always come back and do a short P2 after vacation.

That's sort of what I figured, but I wanted to make sure.
Thanks! Fingers crossed that I still fit in those shorts with a shortened Phase 2! |

Thanks everyone!
Just as a follow up to the OP, as I did the math and to get a full 3 week stabilizing period I can go as many as 36 days of VLCD. Not so bad, right? |
