All righty then, This is one of my favorite fun things to do with ******!!

First I pick any random day on the calendar.
Then I put in all the ingredients for the recipe into ******. (Sometimes my mother looks at it and says "what are you EATING!" )
Then I take the totals for entire "day" of food as the recipe totals: Calories, fat, sodium , potassium, carbs, fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals, everything. Mark all this down on a sheet of paper ( or open a separate tab with another ****** open)

Then, Here comes the fun part. Go to Create Custom Food.
Enter your title for the Food: My Fun Recipe AND I like to enter in how much a serving size is supposed to be. This is important to know and figure out.

It will say "one serving" . Ignore that for now. You can't change it yet. Then save it.

Now, do you know how much a serving of your recipe is? is it 1/6th? is it 1/8th?
It's better to know what the unit of measure is , but if you don't you can just say 1/6 recipe in the title to remind you , but if you want to be able to measure it with ****** do the following.

Divide those numbers by the unit of measure you want to use. Unfortunately ****** doesn't allow normal volume measures like cups in Custom foods. so choose grams or ounces or pounds.

Now in ****** choose your measure on the right popdown menu and choose the quantity on the left. For example [2] and [lb] or [100] and [grams], then choose Edit This Food.

Put in all the data for the full batch of the recipe just as you copied it. Then save it.

Now you can choose this custom food. it will start by saying one serving, but you chose the actual quantity and measure of the serving and it will calculate it up or down for you.

Another way you can do it is if the servings are always the same size, choose 'serving; as the measure and put the number of servings as the quantity ie. 12 servings, and enter all the data. Then you can choose 1 serving, 2 servings, 3 servings, etc in ****** and it will divide it and multiply it for you.

I prefer to use the grams measurement in case i have less than one serving or more than one but less than two or some other odd portion.

That's exactly how I do it, Met. It requires a little math (never an easy proposition for a number-challenged English major like me, but hey, life is tough.) But it's accurate, and once it's in your Custom Foods, the work is done forever!

I also enter commercial products that I buy, using the package info, if it's something I use a lot. Sometimes ******'s general categories are not terribly accurate.

If you put in the data for the full recipe , you don't have to do Any math. Well, except for maybe knowing how many ounces in a lb or or grams in and ounce or some other conversion.

I figured that out recently actually. I used to divide the amounts up into the serving size but since ****** adds it all up, it can also divide it back down. Yay!
