CD rescheduled for Sunday-- an old friend is in town tonight, and we are going out to eat & have a few cocktails. Tomorrow is a girls night, so Sunday CD it is-- probably a traditional steak day for the best results.

Up 0.2 this morning. Still 2.4 under LDW and happy there. My appetite is much better today though I still feel pretty full 2 hours after lunch. I had a huge salad with a whole avocado, turkey breast, cheese, and ranch - it was soooo delicious!

So, I'm leaving Sunday for a two week work conference. I will be staying at a hotel and breakfast and lunch will be provided Mon - Fri. I KNOW I can stay on track, but does anyone have any tips to make things easier? I already called the hotel to make sure I can get a fridge in my room but what do you recommend keeping in it??

Marie and LB - Just wanted to say a big KUDOS to you guys! Lb, getting off the diabetes medicines is completely AWESOME. Even better is the enormous improvement in your blood sugar numbers. That is so terrific! Marie, increased flexibility is fantastic. I think that you will find that once you can get your hip to move that way, it will get easier and easier. And hopefully that means less pain as well.

Myrna and Paula - I will PM you guys the recipe. I don't really want to post it publicly as I still have high hopes of selling it to Wingstop one of these days!

I was down a pound or so this morning--153.1. I think due primarily to eating fish yesterday. My body really seems to like fish so I am having it again today! Hoping for 152 something tomorrow to lead me into the weekend! Still not sure why the sweet potato chips would have caused me to gain 3 pounds. The ingredients are sweet potatoes and sea salt and they were not even very salty. I've had any number of fried things so still scratching my head on that one!

Later kids...and happy Friday!!!!!

Because you ladies have never steered me wrong, I am keeping the fat up. Today so far total fat intake has been 78 grams - JUST for a protein shake and 2 big hamburger patties!!

That doesn't even include dinner!

Calorie wise, I am around 1000. Again, without dinner.

Still not much of an appetite though.

Thanks again to everyone! And thanks Shelbyla, like I said, I cried!

Still within my window... trucking right along 'round about +1 from LDW...
Lilac~ way to go on your BSugar! You have to be so proud...Kick that nasty ol' Diabetes to the curb!
ShelbyLA~ I wanted to thank you for your love of chicken thighs... I don't even buy chicken breasts anymore. To me, they are strictly a P2 food now
NeekoM~ keep up the great job!
1MOretry~ DO you know what they say about proper protein for AB blood?
Catkins~ hopefully I won't need a Ninja if I have a Mercedes parked in my kitchen.
Myrna~ my sleep has been disturbed lately as well. I wish for a peaceful night soon.
C'Marie~ Hope you hip feels better soon
Julieboolie~ I love cottage cheese as well! so easy and high in protein. Mmmmmm.

Lately I have been loving on steaks. Even though I had a correction day with 16 oz of Kosher Ribeye, I have had steak every night since then... is that wrong? That and GY have been on my "A" list lately. Hmmmm. Made that bacon broccoli salad tonight and was in heaven. Nice to have all the ingredients except for the raisins. And the sugar.. Thank the heavens for Stevia! Tasty sweet savory bacony broccoli salad

Good luck!! Being under LDW is a great way to start. I'm a yogurt/cottage cheese fan so I'd stock the fridge w/ that and water bottles for snacks or fill in meals. Bfast may be tricky as they're usually no LC options when I'm away. Souns like you're ready though!!

You are all doing so welll!! I am up a bit today, so I did a GYCD, which usually nets me a ncie loss. Hope tomorrow is the same. I ate out and paid the price - tomato soup and sw chicken ceasar salad. I'm hungrier today than I usually am on this CD. Hope that bodes well.

Busy weekend w/ company in town. Hope to be closer to LDW so I can kinda' enjoy the weekend. We'll see. A workout would do me good if I could find time to squeeze it in.

Have a great night!

That's basically it. I'm thinking of buying another in case they ever discontinue them.
Not sure if the model I have is still available OTC, will check it out soon!
Thanks for the details! What can you do with it?

Dbunny - within your window! Woo Hoo!

Lilac - I can't tell you how excited I am for you about maintaining this week AND especially the blood sugar! I even read your post to my family and they were very very happy for you.

Neeko - protein, baby! Keep it up even if you don't feel like eating too much yet.... I know how that is.

Paula - once in awhile I notice my protein is ok at around 70-ish-but usually higher-and I must limit cheese too. I wish it wasn't the way it is. We'll keep on maintaining because the alternative is just icky! LOL

Raven - have fun at the end of your vacation and I'm glad you get to look forward to another one!

Wiggles - you're always so helpful! and encouraging!

Violet - hope to see you IRL soon! Good job on keeping up on the CD's!

Dawn - what kind of food processor do you have for veggies and shredding cheese? or do you just do it by hand?

Julie - eating out is so hard! I gained weight on SALAD too! So did Shelby! What the heck! LOL

Viola - if a delayed steak day doesn't get you back down, you can follow it with a couple Lean days to help bring it down. The salt from the nuts probably was the issue, unless you have a sensitivity to nuts. I do.

Dazy - you're starting again! Good luck!!!! Keep us posted how you do!

makeupmom - you sound stable to me!

1moretry - nice you're maintaining!

Myrna - hope your hubs is better soon and hope you get more rest!

Catkin - what are you going to do in semi-retirement? I am working on my plans also for that time of life

Shelby - hope you get the wiggle room you want - your maintenance looks pretty good to me! And that KitchenAid Chief's Chopper - does it do cauliflower, other veggies, and cheese shredding?

Mia - what other cool recipes have you tried!? Report, please
Have fun on your anniversary celebration!

Kelli - even up a little, you are still ROCKIN' this maintenance!

Here's MY update: WELP, I did another 2 hour session for my hip. I did the hula-hoop motion, step-ups, and marching in place. It hurts. I'm still praying the flexibility comes back, but praying alone isn't my style, so I'm doing the work, too

My weight is still up. Probably mostly water retention caused by muscle irritation and refilled digestive system (ahem) but partly from carbs in P4. We'll see how it is tomorrow, but I already have at least a very LEAN day planned with eggs in the morning so I can workout and steak in the afternoon.

Hope everyone has a rockin' weekend!

NO NUTS. Keep up water intake. Don't eat past 7 pm.

That was how I handled my first 2 P3s and they went like a charm. I never got into eating any extras like nuts, nut butters, coconut flour, almond flour, or any recipes of any kind until I was stable Mable. NO ALCOHOL. After the 2nd week, then I tried a couple of those items very carefully. I basically treated P3 like P4 in the "testing" things instead of jumping in. I was clear at the end of P3 before I got into most of that stuff.

This is SO how I'm doing to do P3 next time.
I know it works for me.
I need to do this. I haven't been stable yet and back to 200.8. I will follow this advice to a T. I haven't picked up exercise yet.

Is cream in my coffee okay or should I cut out ALL DAIRY? Thank You. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, everyone!

P3D8 finds me at .2 lb under LDW. Whatever crazy, unexpected 2 lb gain I had yesterday went bye-bye!

I should know by now that it is water retention. I was fooled into thinking that just because I was going pee, it wasn't. But all of a sudden I started going literally every 20 minutes yesterday. I was relieved because I know when that happens, the scale is ALWAYS good to me.

I can't believe this maintaining stuff! I can't believe all the fat I am eating! Most of all, I can't believe I am STILL craving nothing but protein!

Today I am adding cheese! Woo hoo!

Probably is a lot of water gain from the strain of PT-but how awesome is that terrific range of motion!!

How wonderful to hear about all the lowered blood sugar going on!! Congrats, Ladies

I used to hate cottage cheese but since P3 it is my lunch of choice if we are home

I'm back to 139.6 my ldw being 145.6 and my adjusted ldw being 140.6 -- Ultimately I do want to get down to 132 - 135 range but I don't want to mess my metabolism up again. Everything that I've lost since my ldw was in p4 and I"m not really trying--- I eat when I'm hungry. The exceptions being if it's late at night or if there are only HIGH carb or HIGH sugar options available-- otherwise I eat. And I always have snacks inbetween meals, cheese, fruit, peanuts, or some homemade low carb goodie. So my ? is, Do you think this is ok or should I be upping my calories a bit? I estimate that I'm having between 1700- 2200 a day depending.
Oh yes, and everytime I've seen a drop on the scale it's been after tom. I was 145.6 then went up a couple of lbs during tom and then after tom was over, I got on the scale to see a drop to 142.6 Same thing the next month, only gained 1 lb water weight so iwas weighing consistantly (during tom) 143.6 then the day tom ended 140.6 now this month, I never really had much water gain maybe on and off .5 lb during week of tom but then when it was over 139.6 -- That has bounced up twice but then back down in the week since tom ended.

as a side note. My hubby has somewhat lowered blood sugar-- He used to get headaches if he didnt eat every 2 or 3 hours. Well........ he straightened all that out in p2 --no headaches anymore. BUT he also is a snack cheater He's been mildly *ahem* cheating since p2 and it has finally caught up with him. All the detoxing and resetting has been worn away and he had a headach yesterday. I am NOT going to say "I told you so"

CMarie's advice is great! 200.8 is still in your window, right? I think if you are still in your window you are doing great.

(sorry if anyone read this on another thread)
I am down 3 pounds after chicken wing + wine day. So I know it'll bounce a bit up from that. But it's awfully nice to be back in my window for the first time since last Friday - I put on almost 5 pounds over that weekend, with no sugar/starch.

Planning more chicken wings for lunch plus vegetables, pork rinds or jerkey snack for the car ride, and I know it's Springcreek BBQ at my folks tonight. Should all be P3 friendly. So excited to see the nieces...haven't seen them since Xmas. I know they'll be surprised DS is several inches taller. DS really enjoys calling me a shortie now. He's about 5'5" and I'm 5'2".

That is awesome!

I'm still at 167.8. Slept like a rock last night, too, so that was super nice. I'm posting my daily menus in my journal thread (the 'wish me luck' one) but yesterday I had almost 2000 cals and close to 140g of fat. I just KNEW I'd be up this morning. KNEW IT. But I'm not.

I don't know how or why it's working, but it's working! Yay!

Doing great LB! I can't believe how much I want MEAT so far this P3! You know, I used to hate bacon with a passion, but now I cannot get enough of the stuff!

P3D3 finds me up 0.6 and in my actual range now. I know I should be happy with that - I'm still 1.8 below LDW but I really like 184 and I don't want to see it keep climbing. I'm not going to stress over it or anything but after seeing the scale go down (almost) every day for a few weeks it's kind of difficult to watch it slowly climbing up. Very busy day planned and I tend to forget my water when I'm running around so I'll have to really focus on that. I'm walking in a parade today so I'm sure I'll want water then. Well, off to shower and face the day. Have a great Saturday all

as a side note. I am NOT going to say "I told you so"
LOL about dh!! I'm so jealous of you!! I'd love to lose a bit more during P3/P4 and you're inspiring me to let it be possible!! I'd love to go back to 150 if possible!

Woo hoo!
Yeah baby!! Love it!! WTG!

The bump on the scale is worth the strngth and movement!! You'll relose teh water retention. Hang in.

Have a great Saturday all
I'm jealous!! I'd like to be AT my LDW let alone go below it!! I'm going to try and keep it clean all weekend, but w/ company coming and trip up to Sedona I know it'll be a challenge!

I'm back in my window. My GYCD helped me lose 2.4lbs ( GY!) So I'm LDW +1. Which is good enough . I'd love to see LDW, or dare I dream less than LDW. I need to let my body stabilize and not jump ahead to the next phase, but I always want more!! LOL!

Have a great weekend!! You're all doing great!!

How much cream are we talking about here??? Cream should be fine as long as you don't overdo.

I LOVE Sedona. So beautiful. So peaceful. Have a great time!

Me: Got my wiggle room! Down another 0.7 this morning to land me at 152.4, 2.2 below LDW. Now, I just need to figure out if I should have dinner tonight or tomorrow. Tonight--then I have Sunday to "recover" and be a good girl. Tomorrow--and I have today to get a little more wiggle room... Hmmm. I'm thinking tomorrow, since one day/night of indulgence (especially if it includes WINE), usually gives me the munchies the next day. If I have munchies at work, it's no biggie. It's the home-bound munchies that get me into trouble...

See ya round the boards, ladies!

p.s. I know I owe a couple of you ladies a recipe--I am on it this afternoon! Promise!

You bet!
Keep in mind I'm a simple ingredient type cook.

I use it for:

smoothies

chopping onions, celery, carrots, etc.

chopping frozen fruit (mostly strawberries) I'm going to try to make homemade popsicles/frozen fruit bars)

LC ice cream (partially frozen fruit and HWC)

chopping leftover meats (roast pork/beef) for sandwich spread for DH (I add pickles and onions and S&P--it's an old fashioned thing our Moms used to make)

hummus (P4)

I would used it for most anything like a processor but it doesn't grate or slice. I love that there are so few parts to assemble/wash! HTH

I think I will work part time, do some volunteering, and maintain my home and yard/gardens. I'm almost finished getting things the way I like them around here so it will be a matter of tending to it all. Good Lord willing and the crick don't rise, of course.

I use a Magic Chef mini food processor. My mom got it for me one year for my birthday. I have not used it til I ran out of shredded cheese and needed some real recently--like a month ago!! I have had it for years. I had the block cheese and thought, why not try it??? It was the best thing ever!!!! I recommend it highly. It is small, she thought I would need a small one....what was she thinking??? We are a family of 6 nothing I do is on a small scale. But anyhoo...it did the job!

You have a great weekend too!!

thanks, c'marie! going to do a couple different things from round 1....see how my losses compare.

going to TRY and do hot green tea in the mornings instead of coffee w/ HH....GASP!!!! if you know me, you would understand what a HUGE thing that is. lol....

going to try the protocol way of not eating till noon. i do this regularly with "regular" eating anyway, so should be fine.

will still allow up to 700 calories if i need, didn't need the extra tho in R1.

will allow larger protein portions as in R1.

DAWN....i know you are a fellow coffee w/ cream lover, what do you do with that in P2?

I still have my coffee with cream on P2. I have currently cut down from 3 cups to 2 and am contemplating going to just 1 per day That is my one variation on P2---my rogueness if you will is using the half and half. But I did buy the fat free!!

Yeah, I hate the fat free stuff. Just not good, so that is why I might cut it down to just 1 cup. I know fat free is not good because of the fillers they use. But we are supposed to be doing the P2 fat free. I just don't know. I might not even finish this carton I just got--the fat free is that bad. What I usually use IS the real half and half. I do not measure--I glug it in. 1 TBL is such a pitiful amount

I am thrilled for you! You are doing it right!
I believe that adjusting the LDW up a little instead of fighting and stressing about it, doing CD after CD, will supply emotional relief and free us up to release those extra stubborn pounds gained after P2 (your mileage may vary).

Yay!
Work it, Myrna!
