I'm out of my window by quite a bit and steak days work best for me.. usually I do a chicken day or a steak/egg day if I'm up. Those usually net 2#s down or so, but I'm hoping for 2.5-3. Oh well... them's the consequences when you eat Oreos, Doritos, etc. I plan on eating cleanly tomorrow, then another CD on Wednesday. I'm going out of town again this weekend... need to stay on plan!!

Doing a correction day would probably bring you down a bit. Exercise and increased calories can make your weight unstable... also, keep track of your food intake-- something may be triggering the weight gain (dairy, etc).

I was really busy all day and didn't get to post. I'm up 1.9 lbs but I'm still .2 below my LDW. I'm worried though because that's a big jump. I guess the 2 lbs could be from bernice being MIA again but I'm still worried about what the scale will say tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed while I sleep.

I am feeling like I want to get back on P2. I'm really leaning that way. I'm supposed to stay in therapy for my hip, and I will. But I'd rather be losing! (maybe I'll stay in therapy and eat slightly more protein?) UGH!

I've been off P2 since 5/24 and I'd really like this break to be over.

despite the muffins I'm still hanging out at my ALDW So thankful. I'm debating about cancelling my gym membership. We haven't been able to go regularly in about 5 months. I like it mainly for the weight equipment but........... I think I'm going to see what I can come up with at home

Thanks Marie! I am having a hamburger patty that is only about 6-8 ounces and we also have bacon-wrapped sirloin. I'm having one of each tonight and will remove the bacon. Does anyone get constipated because of no veggies?

Good Morning! Today is my third day on P3 and I'm also doing a CD today because I'm UP 4.4 in two days (even though I spent a good part of yesterday in the bathroom, LOL). I really over-did it on the fats yesterday and was just trying to eat enough. I haven't gone off plan at all, I just at way too much dairy and cheese. I don't mind the CD, but I'll miss my coffee. My priority is getting this weight off though, so that's very minor.

I'm really going to put ****** to use and am looking forward to my next round in less than three weeks. Have a great day everyone.

Well, did a "traditional" steak day yesterday, fasting and all. Didn't net me JACK--just a half pound down from my 5.6 gain on Sunday. Bernice is definitely NOT MIA but TOM is in the house (although that doesn't usually effect me). I probably had closer to 3 gallons of water yesterday as opposed to my usual two and I can tell I am puffy as all get out. Luckily I have plenty of roasted chicken thighs in the house...

LB - You'll be fine! Don't mind us--we're just in "recovering from the weekend" correction day mode! (At least I know *I* am!) And a lot of us are on P4. This is what maintenance looks like... It's actually a good thing to see everyone handling it instead of going off into binge-land because of weight fluctuations, kwim?

ok, so count me in on needing that CD. i have been weighing at top of my window and slightly above. i was just going to sit there and not worry about about CD till i start p2 on aug 13. well, today i am up a little too much. i think there are a lot of factors at work as i didn't *really* eat a whole lot different yesterday than i had been. i didn't sleep well. i walked in the heat yesterday. i woke up with my left eye hurting like it does if i am going to get a cold sore on my lip. soooo, just took 3 huge l-lysine horse pills to hopefully ward that off. i did go out to a pizza buffet with ds, but it's nothing i haven't eaten before. and when i have eaten there before i never went up over 2lbs!! soooo, i think i'll do eggs throughout the day and tonight, dh and i will be eating out, so will keep it either a salad or plain steak.

Then why did you not correct sooner? Sorry for all the questions. The reason Dr S has us correct at the 2 lb window is to avoid having to get 5 lbs off. My advice to you...... a steak day...pronto!

i heard someone say they do a chicken & egg correction day instead of steak
how do you do your chicken & eggs. just plain. or mix with fats like butter & mayo??
this would work much better for me at work all day

Checking in with no change today, still right at the top of my window.

I saw my doctor yesterday and was braced for a possible clash over my decision to switch to homeopathic HCG for this next round, so was pleasantly surprised when he welcomed my decision with a statement that several of his patients had done very well with it. His only comment was that in their experience, the homepathic versions didn't suppress appetite as well as the hormone.

I was really hungry on the injections for over three weeks, until my body finally went into ketosis and fat-burning mode. Right now I have been able to remain in fat-burning mode ever since then and plan to do a low-carb load for my next round.

It remains to be seen if I mobilize enough fat on P2 to not be hungry this time around. However, from previous experience, I know I can deal with hunger by drinking more water and that got me through on my last round, so either way, I am going to see how I do with the drops.

I ordered my drops and non-mint toothpaste when I got home yesterday and am beginning to put together my shopping list for load and round 2. I will move over to the P2 thread when it's time to begin the next round, but I will be back on P3 around the end of September.

My steak day netted a 3.8# loss! I'm still above my window, but I plan on eating clean today and then another type of CD on Wednesday. I also drank detox tea plus 24-40 oz of plain water... I think it helped!

shelby~ sorry your steak day didn't work for you!

LB~ you will rock p3!!

Sleepy~ you can google "correction days p3." The first link has tips about eating clean and also has a link to several correction days. Mine is the steak/cheese (& egg day). GL!!

Had a good loss from my CD as well. I did the traditional steak with fasting all day. Lost 3lbs so im back to 212. My ldw is 207. Im trying to decide if i can stay "lean" today and just eat no/very low carb--which means lots of chicken, water, and tea. I would like to get back down to 209 at least but if my bod is gonna sit @ 212 then i guess ill have to accept it. We'll see what happens today......

Good job, miamiloca!

I'm 4.2 above LDW, and I'd really like to get back down to my LDW. Last round, I never stabilized and sort of gave up-- not this time!! I am going to make stuffed artichokes for dinner with sugar-free sausage... haven't had artichokes this round yet. I need to make some of my own soon since the sugar free kind is more $$.

My modified CD brought me down a bit. I'm still retaining a bunch of water, can feel it in my fingers and toes. We have heat here, finally, (NOT COMPLAINING) but always when it comes my body takes a few days to adjust. I'm exactly 3 pounds above LIW at this point. I'm actually ok with that.

No one commented about my starting P2 again
Should I? I dunno. I'd almost like to do a short round, I've only done one that way, so I will be in P3 by Labor day weekend. I start a full-time school cohort 8/23 and I'd like to have another P2 out of the way, even if I only lose 10 pounds. At this weight, it might get me solidly into a 10/12 into a 12/14. My only sticky widget is the fact that I'm supposed to be eating high protein, or at least a good batch of protein right when I get out of therapy, either beef or eggs, each day. Maybe I'll make one of my spinach/strawberry/eggwhite smoothies and take that after each workout. I use a machine that contracts the muscles in my leg/hip area 500 x per second, kinda like a tens machine on crack. Right in the official material it says you will need extra protein.

Since I've always been a strict protocol girl, what should I do?

Good morning everyone! Phase 3 day 19 and weighed in at 1.6 over my LDW. I feel really fat and bloated thought and would really like to be back down to my happy cushion of .2 above my LDW. I can't wait to start another round (pellets this time) so I can see the scale start moving again and finally get to my goal weight but that's not for another 3+ weeks. I can see why people opt to do short rounds. Waiting 41 days for another round feels like an eternity.

When you all start another round, do you do phase 4 for a couple of weeks as well? I plan on definately doing the two loading days for sure because that will be my anniversary weekend and there are just no questions about that.

My plan right now is to finish up my 3 weeks of phase 3 and then do 3 weeks of phase 4. What are your suggestions/tips for maintaining on phase 4 and do I keep my calorie intake the same? I could really use some input!

Today is my CD, but I having a cup of coffee right now with some half and half and hwc. It's probably not on plan, but I'm also drinkng a lot of water as I usually do. Because of this, I will eat less steak tonight. I'm really not hungry at all anyway.

Going forward, I'm going to really watch the dairy (besides the cream in my coffee).

When doing a CD I always, always stick with my 3 cups of coffee and I never drink coffee without my cream. I do work at Starbucks. It is what keeps me sane while waiting all day for that food I do well on steak days when I have my coffee. I did an experiment one time to see if the coffee made a difference. I did a steak day with no coffee once, and didn't have a better loss so I continue to enjoy my cup of joe on any of my CDs

Good to know! I had my two cups of coffee today and one small hamburger patty and one bacon-wrapped sirloin burger for dinnner. I didn't remove the bacon so hopefully it won't make that much of a difference. I didn't have that much of an appetite considering all I had all day was tons of water and coffee.

Hi skyung,

Yes, I do a full Phase 4, which is 3 weeks after P3, if this is between your first and 2nd rounds. The P4 gets longer by two weeks between Round 2 and Round 3, and then longer and longer, if you are following protocol as written by Dr. Simeons.

Suggestions for maintaining on P4 are the same - weigh every single day and correct immediately if necessary. Start by adding one small serving of starch or sugar, add nothing else new from your regular P3 diet, and see how your body does it. My personal suggestion is to try HALF servings, one thing, the same thing, for 2 days in a row. Example: one piece of toast with breakfast. Same thing the 2nd day. Eat nothing else new from your P3 routine.

I keep calories around the same, however keep your protein up high. I tend to start leaving off a little meat when I add starches. That is a big mistake for me. If I have to lower any other category of nutrients, I lower fat slightly to compensate for additional carbs.

Good luck! You'll do fine!

I went really slow in P4, adding in starches like beans and peanut butter weeks before any bread or sugar. I have a theory that keeping really high protein may help you stay stable with the addition of small to moderate amounts of sugar. I've been in p4 since the end of May and have just started being more "relaxed" about what I eat (I was super nervous but I guess it maybe paid off) I think Marie is right on saying to cut from fat to make room in your calorie budget for carbs. For me the number of calories I can have without gaining went up in p4 from what it was in p3 so just keep weighing yourself each morning and you'll figure it out.

Checking in with a 0.2 gain, which puts me above my window, so I'm going to do another steak day today.

I can't answer the questions about how to do P4 or how long to go between rounds because I am just finishing my first round and have not really stabilized the way I think it should go. I keep seeing "creep" in my weight, regardless of being totally P3 all the way through, and still don't know what my body likes in terms of how much to eat and of what. My fluctuations have all been small ones except for one day (which I think was a reaction to eating eggs), so I don't know how much stability is realistic to expect. I am still trying to figure all of this out and planning on doing another round at the end of next week.

I start P3 tomorrow and wondered about dairy. I'm going to wait a few days before I dive into dairy but am I supposed to go full fat or should I do low fat cheese, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, etc?
