1. Are they doing Rx hcg or hhcg?
2. Are their periods completely normal without doing the hcg? I would definitely use barrier method for BC regardless of spotting. |

I'm on the three month birth control pill so I only get my period 4 times per year. I got my period one week in and I wasn't due for another 6 weeks. Not sure that really helps but it did mess up my timing.

Not to be lecturing, but if they do not want to become pregnant they nee to be using some form of birth control. Hopefully, you just meant not on hormone-based birth control.
I am peri-menopausal and have not had a period since Dec and I am now spotting about a week into this round using hHCG, so there is some kind of interaction with female hormones. Plus, I have read that fat cells will store hormones and when the fat is released it can release those hormones into your system. I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just make sure to use a good birth control. |

I know that my periods got very irregular after starting hhcg... but I am also in perimenopause, so I can't say for sure the hhcg is to blame.

Weight loss from any kind of diet, not just hcg, can cause hormonal upsets in women. Irregular periods are very, VERY common amongst dieters.
However, if they're worried, they should call their doctors. |

Just sharing my experience-I have a Mirena IUD and hadn't had any kind of menstrual bleeding for about 6 months before starting HHCG (common with Mirena IUDs)...about 1 week after beginning my HHCG pellets, I began spotting and it lasted about 10 days. It was a bit unsettling, but I proceeded on with my HHCG and it eventually went away.

Way too much time on my hands!

I get minor spotting & clotting on the HCG drops, but not the pellets.
I have read that is a common side effect. |
