Something I've noticed

So this may not be a huge thing but I did notice this today..

It was around 11:30 am this morning roughly an hour before I would eat for the first time in the day and when I'm starting to get really hungry... I am sitting at my desk thinking about how boring my lunch is, and just how good fast food would taste.

My husband is going to be gone when I get home so it would be the perfect time to stop on the way home from work and eat whatever I want, without him or anyone knowing...right? :blush:

I just finished my lunch about a half hour ago, and you know what... Those thoughts are out of my head... I'm satisified with what I ate at lunch and I know what I was planning on having for dinner, and I'm still going to go home and make my "planned" meal.

I think I have FINALLY learned that sneaking food really only hurts me. What would my husband care if I ate fast food? he wouldn't! But I would and that's a huge reason to not eat it..

So I am now even more pumped to see that scale tomorrow and I'm hoping for a change to validate my thoughts today..

I was a major food-sneaker. The funny thing is, I didn't have to sneak the food. I think it was all psychological. I am glad to be past that now.

Great job Barbie! I totally understand the feeling of wanting to eat when your husband isn't home. Mine wouldn't mind either, but it would be embarrassing to myself.

As the days go by on P2, I am learning so much about food; proper portion sizes, looking at ingredients, and it's use as fuel and not a past time. LoL, sad but true on that last one. P2 isn't just for losing weight, it really teaches us how to eat like "normal" people.

Funny thing about food-sneaking--the person you are hiding your eating from is really YOURSELF!

I have never snuck food, I gorged right out in the open and didn't care WHO saw me!

Be that as it may... I am VERY proud of you! HCG won't help you accomplish your TRUE goals unless you re-learn the correct eating behaviors. It is the tool to help get you to the finish line, but only you can cross it and STAY on that side of victory!

So speaketh the person who woke up in the middle of the night and ate 2 (80 cal.) light yogurts while watching the storm, lol. But the old me? Would have eaten snack cakes or something much, much worse!

Thanks guys, I do appreciate it. I have always been a food-sneaker. I don't know why but it just seems less guilty eating alone. Almost more enjoyable.. I'm sure everyone that has ever met me knows I eat, You don't get to be 238 lbs by starving yourself..

It feels good to be in control.. I'm sure there will be other days where I will want to eat,eat,eat.. But I really want to see the 100's so for right now, that is what I'm focused on.

omg i USED TO WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIHT AND START EATING CHEESE ITS OR CHIPS CRAZY CRAZY!! nOW i JUST SLEEP THE NIGHT THROUGH. LOVE IT

I totally get it. I live alone so there is no one to hide it FROM, which can be even MORE dangerous! I have frequently brought home <insert large quantity of sugary/starchy food that is VERY BAD FOR ME here> and eaten it all in one or two sittings. Sugar is the DEVIL! I also have trouble in airports--maybe because I often travel alone, you can buy things at multiple shops in an airport (so no one says "Who are you buying those 6 candy bars for???), and you don't know anyone so even if they judge you, you would never see them again. Really bad behavior on my part that I am trying to stop. Last trip, I had a bit of an airport binge but at least it was cashews and not peanut M&M's!

LOL Cali, I was a HORRIBLE night-time eater. My husband used to ask me, "Do you think that food you eat at 2am has no calories?"

I still do it now, wake up and feel the overwhelming need to feed. Which is why I usually save my last fruit in a bowl in the fridge just for that purpose. But last night, my body was craving protein. And the light yogurt was definitely better than the peanut butter I first had my eyes on!

I used to wake up in the middle of the night and eat, but not because of sneaking but because low blood sugar and that stopped when I started having a protein snack before bed.

But lately I've had the urge to sneak, but only around my BF. He thinks I'm wishy washy about eating plans and while he doesn't always say anything I can see the way he glances at what I'm eating. Not with interest but with a sort of judgement like "you are letting yourself eat that. I thought you were doing xyz" But it's like I'm the only one who can't have a treat like everyone else or decide I don't want to eat low carb today for whatever reason.

I guess because he is so close to me, he doesn't judge any of our other friends when they say they are on some diet or trying to lose weight but then still eat the ice cream.

So I feel like I sometimes have to sneak something just to be able to enjoy without judgement. and thats for good or bad food. cause he'll be suspicious if I'm eatin "not enough" or if I take the bun off or something.

ETA: speaking of sneaking, now that BF is out of town for a week, I'm gonna have as much fresh garlic as I want since he hates when I serve or eat it, but I love it!
