Another ? about VLCDs

Is VLCD7 or 8 the end of week one? I know this sounds like a stupid question, but let me explain why Im confused. If you look at it like this:

VLCD1 Monday
VLCD2 Tuesday
VLCD3 Wednesday
VLCD 4 Thursday
VLCD 5 Friday
VCLD 6 Saturday
VLCD 7 is Sunday.........but if you count like this:

VLCD1 Monday
VLCD2 Tuesday
VLCD3 Wednesday
VLCD 4 Thursday
VLCD 5 Friday
VCLD 6 Saturday
VLCD 7 is Sunday
VLCD 8 is Monday- So from Monday to Monday, that is one week but it's VLCD8. I hope Im not confusing you all. The reason Im asking is because if I calculate it like scenario #1, then I lost 6.6 lbs the first week. If I calculate it like #2, then I lost 7.6 lbs. I know it doesnt *really* matter, but Im one that obsesses on stupid details like this

Anyone want to join in on the madness?

I have the same confusion, FWIW!

I kinda settled in my mind how I would handle it in terms of my stats and keeping records, but it IS confusing. And also, the weights--they're sort of offset by a day, right? I mean, when I give my first week's total losses, I'm really taking that weight on the first day of the NEXT week, ya know?

I guess just figure out how YOU want to do it, and then do it consistently that way.

I always counted my "week" after finishing 7 VLCdays, ie the weight on the 8th day. If that helps.

I don't think *wrong* is an issue. I used to count my load days in week 1, LOL. Just do what makes you happy and be consistent! Good luck! (wait - you don't need it! you have a plan!)

I am soooo glad I'm not the only one who obsesses over these types of details lol! Yes, it's true that it doesn't *really* matter but for some of us () the minute details can totally drive you crazy until you figure out what is best for you!

My mind kept telling me that on day 7 I should count that as the weekly weighin. Dh kept arguing that it should be day 8 because on day 8 you have had 7 FULL days of low calorie. In the end I finally ended up agreeing with him and using day 8 and I'm happy with that now!

By the way, I posted the same question a while back but didn't get too much feedback:

What day do you count your losses for the week?

How about just counting your cumulative losses regardless of how many days / weeks? I just kept a daily log book and each day tallied up my losses. I totally get worrying about the "details" but the overall picture and totals are way more impressive in the long run rather than saying I lost "x" this week. You could always say I'm down "x" since I've started my "cleanse".

Hopefully that gives you another perspective to consider. Regardless of which way you choose to calculate, the important thing is you are losing and you are being accountable for your totals.

Happy Losing!!!!

I weighed for my totals every Monday, which worked out to be the 8th day. But don't trust me, I forgot to add in my load days for the 40 day round until last week when I noticed my days were off.

I just count every day's loss's or gains.. Then I subtract from my beginning weight so as of right now, even though I'm on week 2, I've lost 8.5 lbs.. Then I don't have to worry about how much I've lost every week, it's all accumulative!

save it like a pic first, like right click on it... and then when you save it to your profile in the signature section.... browse, and click on it

I'm in the minority, but I go with option #1 because there are 7 completed VLCD's. If you go with option #2, there are 8 completed VLCD's.

When I'm going for a short round, I go with VLCD7 as week one even though it's only six days. Otherwise, your LDW on day 21 is only a six day loss. And the third week tends to be slower anyways, and the first week faster. But it doesn't truly matter...overall I like to know what my average loss per day was over the whole round.

I do 7 days, so the first week is 6 days of VLCD. After that it would be 7 days of VLCD because the first day is based on the previous weeks last day of VLCD.
