How long before anyone commented...

on your weight loss? I've lost almost twenty-seven pounds, have dropped two sizes and feel amazing. I can tell the hcg is doing something miraculous. I'm tall (5'10") so my weight loss shows very quickly. My size 14's are getting big and my extra-large t-shirts are like a tent on me.

However, some of my larges are two small and no one has said a word at my work.

My husband and son have noticed even though they see me every day and my mother-in-law's jaw may still be on the floor.

It's possible my co-workers may think they're insulting me if they say anything.

How long before your co-workers said something? Or anyone for that matter?

To be perfectly honest, I really couldn't care any less...I just thought it was strange.

Same here - my DH has said lots of things. My MIL said she noticed it in my face, after I told her I was on a diet.

The only other ppl who have commented, I sent them before/current pics...sister, two friends. It's pretty obvious in the pics.

Nobody has said anything to me "out of the blue" so to speak, but I've kind of been laying low and not going out much, too, so I dunno...

I see my mother and several friends I haven't seen since I started at my son's bday party the first week of August. That'll be the real test.

I dont know but Im willing to bet that everyone is starting to notice but alot of people dont know what to say because they're afraid of somehow offending you, know what I mean? That is freakin awesome though, way to go!!! Im sure it wont be long before everyone's jaws start hitting the floor like your mother-in-law

When I am in a professional setting, I dress in business attire. (Which means, "I'm not here for you to look at my boobs or my behind") - so it took a long time for anyone to notice there.

Then, AFTER 20 pounds, when I was at a party and wore my new rockin' size 8 jeans that hugs and llloooovvvveeee my body, as well as a clingy top, everyone noticed! (Unfortunately, they also usually credited it to the fact that I have been sick, which I just let go...)

only my close friends at work said anything to me. my manager commented that i had lost a lot of weight and followed it up by "but...i mean....you were never fat or anything..."

i think people just feel awkward and dont want to offend you, but good job on the weight loss!

You're all right. I work in a call center so I'm around a LOT of people every day. I'm sure some have noticed, but don't want to offend me.

For the first 10-15 pounds no one, not even my husband or parents, noticed (even when I asked).

When I went back to work after a 5 week vacation and 18 pounds lost, my coworkers noticed even though I didn't say anything to them. They were amazed and now I get compliments pretty much daily. The female coworkers know I've lost weight. The male coworkers will say "something is different about you" and then I'll tell them what it is.

As someone who has struggled w/her weight for about half of my life, I find this interesting.

I used to get comments from well-meaning friends like, "you've got such a pretty face". I always found that offensive, because the unsaid, in my mind, was, "too bad the rest of you looks like s***".

Our bodies are OUR property, and it's not for anyone to comment on them. (Can you tell I have some issues with this? lol)

Just my thoughts.

I personally don't comment on others' weight loss unless we are really close and/or they have confided in me. Otherwise, I just say, "You look wonderful!". Then they can comment on their own weight loss or not, as they choose.

I've lost 60 lbs. A coworker sent me an email a couple of days ago telling me she could tell I've lost.

To everyone's credit, though, I'm still mostly wearing baggy clothes. It's the days I wear clothes that actually FIT when someone notices.

I work in a call center too! And EVERYONE has noticed and commented! I get called "Miss Sassy" now because everyone says not only do I look different, I even walk different! They all say I now STRUT!

I don't remember when exactly they started commenting though, since I have lost all this weight somewhat rapidly. I was 272 on 3/6 and am 203 today.

My husband is the only one that noticed, and my close friend at work. Other than that, NO ONE has said anything at work. On HCG alone, I've lost 27lbs and ALL of my clothes are disgustingly falling off. I don't have a SINGLE tight item of clothing, so maybe you can't tell if I'm wearing the same clothes (?) That's how New Yorkers are though. They don't often concern themselves with others, I guess

I went down from 206 to 179 and people haven't said anything. I still can't believe they don't say anything! But that doesn't affect my confidence. I rock it anyway!

Everyone wants to be "politically correct"

In the current society.....
If a man compliments you..will you take it as sexual harassment???
If a woman mentions it...will it be going against the unwritten rule?? envy?? jealousy??...granted some try to get ALL in your business - but for the most part some of them are sincere

It was about a month before people at my job said anything. And it was mostly - something looks different...did you change your hair?

I heard this the other day...."It takes NOTHING from you to compliment someone else".

It was probably a good 20+ pounds on my first round before people started to say something. It wasn't until I ended my round and was down 36 pounds and wore an outfit that actually fit my body as to when the "jaws started dropping" and the questions began to surface.

People started noticing that I've lost some weight when I finished my last round. Mostly women in my office but some said omg Lara I just took a double take you really have lost weight. Mostly people are very supportive except for a few that make rude comments which I dont really understand, but whatever that's their problem. It IS none of their business, and I don't think people think before the speak most of the time. My favorite of all time was this comment from a dingy lady she said to me " now that you've lost weight you're probably going to get pregnant and gain it all back" to which I replied "do I not have control over my own body? It's not like I'm a dog in heat or something, I will choose when I have a baby, sheesh" LOL I thought it was funny but strange. Or my mom gotta love her, it's like pulling teeth to get a copliment "yes, you do look like you lost weight but you still need to lose more" at least I know that the answer I get from her is a true answer, she doesn't play around. Old school Italian antics, yay.
Oh, and there's my sister who I have to lie and say I'm on low carb or I get a lecture, and then she wants me to carry around my "fat pants" to show everyone how fat I was.
I know that I will look amazing and all I have to do is believe in myself that I can do it and love myself like no one can. That's why this forum is so important. We are consious of each others struggles and support each other unconditionally no matter if you are 300lbs 200 or 170, it's your journey and you deserve to be all that you can be. We know what it takes to get it done and for ourselves and no one else.

That being said a ton of people have noticed AND said something! I dont mind. I did used to get the "you have such a pretty face" comment. A lot. I would never say that to someone because like another poster said---"too bad the rest of you looks horrible". To me thats what that comment implies. But i could be a tad sensitive, too. My tiny little grandmother used to call me fat when i was a little kid (i wasnt-it's just that everyone was huge compared to her-she was 4"11 and under 100lbs) and that was one of her things-the "pretty face" comment. My mom finally had to tell her to shut the hell up or we wouldnt be visiting her ever again. Go Momma!

I lost about 30 pounds last year before anyone at church or my neighbors commented. And then they ALL commented (even the pastor!).

I do some temp work...so was surprised no one said anything...since I was only in every 3-4 months at various locations. Someone finally asked my secret - this was funny, as I was down 60 pounds by then. I think people who don't know you well are really afraid to comment...but I love all comments, can't get enough!
