Do you put your extra pellets back into the bottle?

I do! I think it would use up your pellets much too fast if you didn't! But I am only just starting the pellets so I would really love to hear what others have to say about this.

Has anyone ever suspected a contamination problem from putting the extra pellets back into the bottle?

This is some info from a homeopathic pharmacy website. I bolded the part in question:

Quote:

Because the remedies are very clean and fragile, avoid handling them. It is preferable to drop the tablets or pellets into the cap of the bottle, and pour them from the cap into your mouth. If more than four pour into the cap, take four-don't put the pills back into the bottle.

You cannot overdose on homeopathic medicines. If you take fifteen tablets or five tablets (or 100 tablets for that matter) AT ONE TIME it is one dose. You will stimulate your curative response one time. So, it is not a tragedy if more than six tablets fall into the cap, just take them rather than risk putting a contaminated pill back into the bottle to contaminate the others in the bottle.

I pour them into the cap and if one or two extra fall in, I put them back in the bottle. Ugh. I hate all of the things we have to avoid to prevent contamination.

I put them back too. Didn't know it was a contamination risk.

Me too!!!

Yes, it does risk contamination, but only if you touch them. I wouldn't put them back in if I had touched them. Why risk it? But then, I always tap mine out onto a spoon so if I get too many, it's easy to tip them back in with out touching them.

Contamination with what, bacteria, viruses?

If you use a stainless steel spoon, wash it and then dry it with a clean paper towel, before you drop your pellets into it, you will be fine. The rubbing and scrubbing does more to remove microbes than the soap. The soap just makes it slipper so they slide off. Don't touch them with your fingers and you should be fine. Even if you wash your hands there are still a lot of little buggies on there. We cultured them in microbiology. Wow! Such a fun class. Hard but fun!

Even if you use a plastic spoon, wash it ans scrub it dry. They are VERY dirty.

So call me a cynic, but if most people here have dumped pellets back into the bottle or touched the rim, or whatever, and are still doing fine, can the stuff really be THAT fragile?

Violet_Dream 07-15-2011 08:09 PM

I've been dumping them in my hand and if I over-pour...the rest go back into the bottle. Additionally, I heard that electronics can deactivate them which I don't believe either.

When I'm at work, I keep my bottle of pellets in my pocket with my cell phone and have had absolutely no issues. I make sure my hands are clean when I dump them into my hand.

I put them in the cap if I dump in too many I work at putting them back in the bottle but I don't touch them with my fingers, I guess a spoon would be easier.

shelbyla 07-16-2011 08:25 AM

See here's another one of my "why risk it?" things... To me it's just as easy to do the spoon and keep them away from electronics and NOT risk the contamination. I DID deactivate a bottle of drops last round so it DOES happen. Maybe not from the first time or the 20th but :why risk it when it's just as easy to take the precaution? :dunno: YMMV.

When I was taking the pellets it became a betting game for me :) I would carefully pour them out and hope I got 3, but that never happened so I always bet myself what the number would be. But yes I would pour back the extras into the bottle and then that became an adventure trying to only get the extra ones back in ! Haha

Interesting! I'm glad to read this and will be more careful in the future. I'm not as careful as I should have been. I hope they still work. I'm doing a new P2 today and hope my pellets work well for me!! As long as they're working I'm sure they're fine. Thanks for sharing the info!! THat's what I love about LCF!!

That is my strategy as well.

This is what I do as well. My round is going along so well that I don't believe my bottle has been contaminated. I am really careful, but every once in a while I get extra and put them right back in using my hands.
