Scales...a philosophical musing. (feel free to skip this silliness)
A lot of you have much more discerning scales than mine. It's digital but only ever gives measurements in pounds or half pounds. I'm okay with that, it seems to be pretty consistent, so I guess I don't really need to know the minutia.
In fact...when I leave on my trip this weekend, I will take my food scale, but nothing else is getting weighed for a whole week. I'm thinking that is going to be kind of a faith journey. I will be dilligent about staying on plan but will have to trust that it's working. Maybe my pants will get looser, maybe I won't even think about it! We have lovely relaxing plans...but loose plans, nothing we *have* to do, nowhere we *have* to be. It will have been over 11 years since we had that sort of get away. The de-stressing part of this trip will have to be good for us, body and soul. We will be in the mountains...I hear you burn more calories at higher altitudes. Heh. All of which is to say, I am totally looking forward to only weighing food. I am even trying to convince myself that when I come home, I need to wait until the next morning to weigh, since that is when I always weigh. Wonder if I'll do that? ![]() Last edited by privatediva; 07-13-2011 at 09:50 AM.. Reason: can't type! |

Sounds like a good plan! I know when I went camping I didnt' take my scale, and just trusted in following the plan. I was down when I got home...and I couldn't wait until the next morning. Maybe you will be stronger than I in waiting!
Good luck and best of all have a great time! |

thank you Amy (that's my daughter's name...I love it. When I was little, I named all my baby dolls Amy
) we can't miss on the great time. It's a fairly significant commentary on how silly our lives have become when the thing we've been dreaming about for six months is getting away someplace where we can do nothing! |

Feedback part A: In what phase are you?
Feedback part B: Great idea about the scales Feedback part C: I notice a "we" in there. Were Dr. Semeons here now, I feel quite certain he would prescribe lots of in-bed-exercise. :-) Just sayin'... |

When we were planning our wedding, I had a long-held concept of the "all inclusive" honeymoon. My fiance was very instrumental in my eventual outright abandonment of this cherished ideal. Wisely, he knew that if that plan came to fruition, he would spend his honeymoon hearing: "Honey!!! Wake up! Wake up!!! It's 7:30, and we have windsurfing as part of our all-inclusive package!!! Wake up! We gotta go now!! It's included!" Instead, with some coercion, we had a honeymoon of 5 days with NOTHING planned. It was wonderful. :-)

that's excellent, Red! Last November was our 30th anniversary. We have 2 in college and 1 in high school, but they're all at home this summer. This will definitely feel like a honeymoon for us!
