Starting today, need support!

Briefly about me:

I started Couch to 5K along with very low carb eating (with a few slip-ups but quickly back on track) September 2010. Ran a 1/2 marathon in April 2011, and this month finally reached my 60# loss mark. Currently I'm training for a full walk/run marathon that I will do in October. I'd been stuck at 190 for a few months now and I'm getting frustrated. I know that after such a loss along with long distance training that weight loss stalls, but this has been weeks now. I saw my hair stylist at my six-week appointment and she had a dramatic weight loss and looked vibrant and glowing! She's the one who told me about the HCG diet. I did my research and decided to go for a round of 40 days. I got my drops and started my first load day today! I'm excited and scared at the same time! I have done every other day fasting in the past, and it worked great for me so hopefully I'll get into the swing of this quickly.
I was very excited to be able to eat junk for two days. I grabbed the ice cream out of the freezer but just couldn't do it. I knew that I could fat load in a healthy way. So today I had tacos made in cheese shells with sour cream, salsa, and more cheese, strawberries and heavy cream, and no-bake cheesecake with lots of water and iced tea, and I'm using a bit of liquid Splenda for sweetener. I'm stuffed but I don't feel like crap, which I know I would have had I started in on the junk.
I have enjoyed reading and soaking in all the info on this site. I wanted to be able to share my experiences with the next newbie down the line! I'll keep whomever is interested posted on my success (positive thinking here)!

Angie

Hi, Angie! I just wanted to say hi! I loaded yesterday and today, and am anxiously awaiting getting started on the "meat" of the program tomorrow!

I have lots of doubts--I've been stalled for a year, and other forms of very low calorie dieting have not worked for me. I am really, REALLY hopeful that THIS will be the one (but also scared that it will fail, too.)

I will stop in regularly and see how you're coming! Good luck to both of us!

Bless your heart, Angie. All I can say is that it's amazing what tight jeans and a long black blazer can cover up/hide. And at 54, I've really learned how to disguise my fat with clothes. I almost wish I weren't so good at it--because I actually fool myself into thinking I look pretty good, but when I undress at night, or worse yet, have to wear a swimsuit, the truth is revealed.

I'm going to do what everyone suggests and take a front and back swimsuit photo here in a few minutes, so I'll have something to compare later. I am dreading it so much I'm nearly shaking. ALL my fat lives on my thighs, and it makes me look ridiculously out of proportion. I literally have ripples all the way from butt down to my knees. Arrrrghhh--don't want to do this, but feel I must!

I hope your day is going well. Check in and let us know!

Jessica, I can relate to the anxiety over the picture. I did take front, back, side shots and it was pretty traumatic. NOBODY but me will ever see those! But I can already see a significant difference (after 16 days) so I am glad I can compare. We are about the same age. And you do look wonderful, dear. I will look forward to your journey as a kindred "mature" lady

WOW! Good for you!! I did ok. I had a dull headache most of the day. I think it's mostly from the coffee withdrawal more than anything (don't like coffee black and I usually drink a ton of coffee). The hunger was manageable, not bad at all. I need to figure out an eating schedule for my runs though. I tried to run my five miles and ended up walking a lot more than I would like to admit. I'll figure it out though. Here's to 39 more days! I'm curious to see what the scale says this morning when I get home!
You're doing great! KUTGW!!

hi ocean! i ran throughout p2 and the one tip of advice i have is dont do it in the am i ran best after lunch or in the evening; in the mornings i got super dizzy and nauseaus. also - super b complex and potassium will definitely help with your energy and leg cramps if your dragging. have fun and good luck!

Wow, Angie. Running on such low calories--I am impressed! I plan to keep up my light dumbbell routine, and that's about it. I'll save cardio for phase 3!

Good job on the loss!

Thanks Abby! Yeah, definitely need some food in my belly before a run. Glad to hear that you continued running throughout P2. Thanks for the advice!

Good job on the loss!
I'm training for a marathon in October, started training several weeks ago. I'll see if doing this is manageable while training. If not, I'll have to decide if I'm going to put off the marathon or the diet. I know dropping more pounds will help my runs. Hopefully it will work out, though, and I won't have to give up either one.

Day two of P2 and so far so good!

Angie

Go girl! You're now striking out into new territory. Isn't it glorious!

(Btw, I wanted to mention that I am also using my liquid Splenda. I have a bottle of it I've been using for years, and I just don't see the need to buy new sweetener. Plus, I hate stevia.)

Exactly! New territory! The lowest weight I've been in many, many years.
Down another 2.3# today for a net loss of 2.8 lbs! I'll take it!

How are you feeling Jessica? Your weight loss looks great so far!

I'm not too fond of Stevia either. I'm actually going to try to cut out all sweeteners during this round. I've been wanting to do it for years but haven't been successful. We'll see. The thing I miss most is the cream in my coffee! I foresee learning to drink my coffee black in the coming month.

Angie

I'm up 0.4 lbs today. The only thing I can think of is that it might be she sodium in the Frank's Hot Sauce. I hadn't used it up until yesterday. Geez, at only 500 calories a day, it can't possibly be anything else, right?

Soldiering on...

Obviously it has to be water, Angie. It isn't possible to retain any body fat on 500 calories. And I really think that water stuff fluctuates by the hour, so had you weighed at a slightly different time, you might not have even seen it.

How are things looking today?
