Now, I know some of you use splenda on P2...

Right? (Or even sweet n low)?

I'll ask this and then be done and stop stressing/over thinking my 0 weight loss for today.

So, what do you guys think caused a 0 weight loss on my 5th day of VLCD (this is usually my strongest week):

The bad things that could have (?) contributed:

1. About 2 packets of splenda yesterday
2. Some H&H in my coffee (doesn't usually affect much)
3. 4 Sweet n low packets in some unsweetened tea
4. Shirataki noodles as my side last night
5. Approx. 6oz of diet pepsi

I will NIP this in the bud - whatever it is.

Even if you did everything right you could have still gotten a zero, I have and I ate the same thing for 36 days. Dont beat yourself up!
Maybe its the noodles I understand that they expand in your stomach?
I personally would do the h&h but thats me.

i would vote on the shirataki. i remember from my atkins days when i had that it pretty much sat in my stomach for 24 hours before...leaving lol. it ultimately did not cause a gain in the long run but i saw it on the scale the next day bc it took longer to digest.
i had 2 packets of splenda a day on p2 and was fine, but maybe the combo of the splenda, sweet n low and diet pepsi put together? IMO i would also cut the sweetener down a bit. good luck!

This ^^^^^^^

Those noodles are notorious for holding onto extra/excess water when eaten. I stay away from them in P2 as well as p3. I also continued to have my usual sweeteners while on P2 with no effects at all. I have even had a Diet Pepsi or 2 while on plan with no ill effects. And I have even had 3 cups of coffee in P2 all with H&H with no ill effects. But it could be different for you. We are all individual and what effects one with not necessarily effect another. That makes it hard to determine what food will effect us negatively. I do well with cabbage, but hear so many people stall out while eating it. For someone else it is chicken they cannot do on P2. I know of 1 person this is true of--chicken!! Can you believe stalling out on chicken??!! I would be mortified if I had to do a round without chicken. This same person cannot do a round with apples, stalls her out every single time she eats an apple. So you just keep your journaling to find out what it could be.

ohhh man! I SO did not expect those bad boys to be the problem. I thought you guys would jump all over all of my other stuff. hmmm, you might be up to something!!

If they're notorious for holding extra water when eaten, imagine me telling you that I pretty much drowned them in soy sauce to mask the texture and flavor. I really did them in then!

LOL! Chicken? Sheesh - how mad can your body be to make you stall on chicken? Sheesh!!

Let me skip the stupid shiratakis & diet pepsi tonight and see what happens lol Thanks for your input!!

maybe some smooth move tea would be a good idea? lol

Funny story, I was deemed allergic to rice and soy intolerant which both have opposite effects on me if you know what I mean. Sadly they are two of my favorite foods and whenever I would eat them I would say it's my cement mixer recipe lol.

Also, is it possible that your body will act like mine did? I stayed the same for a few days, and then WOOSH, down two pounds. That was really common for me.

Dawn--I would be forever grateful if I could use h and h in my coffee and still lose Did you use the regular or the fat free? Also what kind of sweetner were you using? I am what's known as a "super taster" so the stevia has a horrid bitter taste for me (I used to use Splenda and Truvia before hcg).

I used regular. I did buy the fat free and it just sat in my fridge, unused. Not too thrilled with it. So I did use the regular kind. I also am not too terribly fond of the stevia. I do have the liquid and use it for teas, but for other things.....eh. I am glad I didn't have to do without my Splenda and NectaSweet.

I am here to tell you that the Smooth Move DOES work

I got mine at Whole Foods--I saw they had a chocolate flavored one but I was too nervous it would stall me (I bought it before I started P2). Looking back, I should have gotten the chocolate (But mine tastes fine too)

I would think it would be the noodles also. You will probably have a woosh when they pass. Especially since you didn't go up with the noodles and soy sauce.

I use splenda and drink diet soda.

I love the chocolate smooth move tea. I added amaretto and chocolate stevia drops to make Hot chocolate. I usually used 1 chocolate tea bag, 1 green tea bag and the other drops to taste.

Chocolate smooth move?! I have the peppermint and regular flavors... hmm, maybe I need to check out more flavors. Smooth move works so well! I do like the peppermint kind with chocolate stevia.

As to the original post... not sure. You could woosh tomorrow!
