Yikes! Is it too early to be stalled like this???

I just realized this morning that I have been stalled for a few days, but I don't know if I can even call it a 'stall' because it's so early in the cycle!

Help!

Today is R1, VCLD8.

I bought a new scale a few days ago, but only now calculated the difference from my old scale and looked at the numbers, and yikes! It looks like I've been at the same weight for the past 5 days!

I have other 'symptoms' that make me think the hcg is working, but the scale doesn't move. I feel energetic, my body just feels better overall, not really hungry, my boobs are sore, I've had leg cramps just like when I was pregnant...BUT NOTHING MOVING ON THE SCALE!

Does this mean it's an actual stall since it is so early in the cycle?

Here are my numbers so far:

Weigh-in at nutritionist's office 1 week before R1 began: 177
P2VLCD2 174.4
P2VLCD3 172.9
P2VLCD4 172.4
P2VLCD5 171.4
P2VLCD6 172.4
P2VLCD7 171.4
P2VLCD8 171.4

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm. Perplexing. Do you keep the HCG in the fridge? Are you coming into contact with any sort of creams or lotions? Sure to keep away from all oils/fats in foods? Is it TOM? Drinking tons of water?

We will figure this out!

Then you must be losing inches. Remember it is called Pounds AND Inches for a reason!! Just keep on keeping on and the scale will start to drop once again. Good job!!

Thanks for replying so quickly...wow!

I have had some minimal contact with creams--had to put some lotion on my son, then washed my hands, but that was a few days ago. I guess it could be the issue...? I also put a spot of cortisone cream on a skin irritation that popped up now that I think of it. Do you think such little exposure could actually throw me into a stall? I'll have to get rubber gloves just in case.

TOM is not for another week.
HCG is in the fridge.
Drinking tons of water.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm worried because it is so early in the cycle that maybe it isn't a true stall, but just that the darn thing isn't actually working at all...

I haven't been measuring the inches, though. I suppose that might have helped to get perspective!

Technically, it's not a true stall until you've been at the same weight for 4 days.

When I bought a new scale, there was a TWO LB DIFFERENCE in my weight. I'd weigh myself on one, step off, weigh myself on the other. I have since stuck with my old scale because that is the scale I started with.

New scale might be part of the problem, but during my round 1 of P2, I remember the second week before awfully slow as far as weight loss compared to the first, third and fourth. BOO for week 2. Maybe that's what you're experiencing ?

I didn't even think to ask this. I just assume everyone is doing it "by the book". Definitely helpful and important information to find out what OP is eating.

Are the drops supposed to be refrigerated???

oops

didn't mean to threadjack, there--

As the queen of the plateau, I can only advise you to be sure to drink even more water now that it's summer---that's what stalls me the fastest!!

good luck!!

LaraSuzz, I'm eating 'by the book', but not usually eating the melba toast. I haven't been keeping a food journal or anything, but here's what I ate yesterday, for example:

Morning: Smooth Move tea w/ stevia drops
Lunch: 3.5 oz lettuce mix
3.5 oz. shrimp w/lime juice, salt, tsp. salsa
red wine vinegar for dressing
Snack: whole orange
Black tea
Dinner: 3.5 oz burger mixed with Bragg, salt, fresh garlic, onion powder

Susiecarbojunkie, I don't know about other brands, but I am using Celeste drops and I was told to refrigerate after opening.

Well yes you are eating by the book, that part sounds good to me. Could it be TOM? Water weight? You can actually do an apple day right now, I wonder if that would get things going for you? Maybe stick it out until tomorrow morning and if the scale doesnt move try apples that day.

Here are things that trigger stalls in me MSG, salt, berniece? Sometimes oranges... I'm stumped.

The thing about ground beef is do we really know how much fat is in it?

Here's what I ate every day
2 apples
200 grams top round beef
2 handfulls spinach

I dont use lotions lip gloss face cream. I didnt even take vitamins, which may or may not have been a good idea lol.

The ONLY thing I'm thinking is maybe its the drops? Not enough or a bad bottle? Can you exchangethem for another?

When I did drops I put them on a spoon first to make sure I was taking the right number of drops.... and then I switched cuz it was a pain and I have no patience, lol.

I've been keeping my hhcg drops in the fridge. I didn't get any sort of instructions with mine. I hope I didn't ruin them. It's been about 5 days now.

[edit: I sent an email to intermountain to see what they say about it. Hopefully, they're ok!)

I agree with you about the ground beef! The other day I felt the oil on my lips from a burger and it felt so weird. I think I need to stick to more reliably lean meats. I just bought a pound of bison meat at the farmer's market and now I don't know if I should even eat it! It's supposed to be lower fat...

I think I will get ready to do an apple day tomorrow if I'm still stuck. It is just so bizarre. I could swear I feel different, but maybe I've just been kidding myself.

I have been using salt and started eating oranges this week too. So I'll stop doing both of those things and see how I do.

Thanks for all of the support and suggestions everyone! I really appreciate it.

Well, that's interesting! I am doing the same thing... on... off... on... off...

This new scale is 2.4 lbs off, and NOT in my favor. The scale is so old though that if I don't get consistent readings.

It must be inches you are losing. Also, remember that we are losing abnormal fat. So that means that you can be losing fat that you cannot see. In fact, most of the changes that happen doing the hcg we cannot "see". I would just keep on keeping on!! You are doing great

ITA with what Dawn said.
During my stalls/plateaus I will be up and down the same 2-3 lbs. for days or even longer--but physically--I experience my greater changes during those times--kinda like becoming the "incredible shrinking woman"

Just keep up your good habits and trust the process.

As for your scale--I did that same thing. I bought a new scale and it weighed me like 6 lbs. heavier. I ended up with 2 scales in my bathroom for almost a year. But just approach it as a number. Start from where it weighs you at the beginning and just keep track of how the numbers change. Don't let it dishearten you. It's where you go from here/today that counts.

The only problem is its her first week and thats very hard to swallow when youre supposed to be losing 2-3 lbs a day. I've never had a first week round like that. I could understand if it was the 3rd or fourth week.

I wonder how many inches were lost did you take measurements MyKid?

If you're down 5 inches I'd say run with it if not tweak it. Because really it'snot how much you weigh it's how you look in my book. When I get to 200 lbs I'm a size 10, I look amazing. I could stretch it to 180 but after that no more for me.

I get a top round roast, remove all visible fat, stick it in the oven for 25 mins at 400 then slice it super thin like roast beef, very good very lean. Either that or chicken but after my previous round of 35 days of chicken, I could care less if I ever saw a chicken tender again, lol.

I didn't know that the HCG drops are suppose to stay in the fridge after you open it.....What happens if you don't because I have been on the program for a week and never put it in the fridge and it sits on a shelf

Homeopathics are NOT to be stored in the fridge. So you are OK if you have them in a cabinet, like me .

Dawn--be my guest!! There's plenty room for more incredible shrinking women
actually--it's the title of an old movie with Lily Tomlin....she plays a housewife that has been exposed to so many different household chemicals, they interact and cause her to shrink.....they kept her in a dollhouse until they could figure out what had happened

even THAT movie wasn't original
it was a re-make of a movie where a man was exposed to chemicals and shrank (done in the 1950s, I think)

really showin' my age here

LaraSuzz, that is the big issue for me. I'm wondering if I'm going to end up with a really low loss after 40 days, since I'm off to such a low start on the scale. Unfortunately I didn't take measurements. Didn't think I would need them... HA!

I do want to say thank you ALL so much for your support!!! What a fantastic group.

I am just going to plow ahead, come what may. I went out and bought a bunch of apples in case I decide to try an apple day tomorrow or the next.

Also, I'm going to stay away from some of the other foods that people have mentioned triggered stalls in them: oranges, tomato, beef, eggs, cabbage and shrimp. And the melba toast too.

The heartening thing is that I do feel different, even if the scale isn't backing me up. And I've never felt like this on any diet--who knew I could tolerate 500 calories without becoming a snarling she-wolf? I tried to do the "21 day detox" several years ago (mostly a raw juice fast), and the hunger and cravings were absolutely unbearable. I hardly made it 14 days and that was only because my cousin was teaching the class and I didn't want to embarrass him!

Could it be the added salt? Are your rings tight? (That's where I notice it first) I know added salt and not enough water = no loss for me.

I'd try not adding salt and drinking lots of water before I gave up all of those foods. (In all honestly, all the ones you mentioned are pretty much my daily diet)
