Bad gallbladder and Phase 3
My daughter's sister-in-law is in R1P2D41. Last Wednesday she was in the ER with a severe gallstone attack. They were going to take the gallbladder out, but tests showed she was pregnant. She tried to tell them that her tubes were tied and it was just the Hcg she was taking, but they still wouldn't remove it. She sees the surgeon this Friday and he will schedule the surgery, but in the meantime she doesn't know what to do. There is no way she can start eating the high-fat foods involved in phase 3, which starts this Saturday, and she is out of her Hcg so she can't just continue phase 2. I had no idea what to tell her and let her know I would ask the forum. Any ideas?

Her health is most important! She should eat whatever she can that won't trigger an attack, and try to eat to maintenance levels because surgery will be stressful on her body. I wish her a successful surgery and quick recover!

i don't think she would necessarily have to eat high fat foods in p3. many people do but chicken, LF greek yogurt, fish, salads, egg whites etc are all still great options. i cant eat high fat with my crohns so i eat mostly poultry, fish, shellfish right now (im in p3) and i am stabalizing very well. her health is her #1 priority but if the lower fat options are okay for gallbladder issues i think she would be okay?

Oh, and she may well indeed be pregnant. I have heard that if you take a pregnancy test the hcg won't come through. But that is what I have **HEARD** not first hand experience. My tubes are tied as well, but there are some stories about having babies after a tubal. Hope things go well for her! Keep us updated.
