Stinky Breath, bad taste

I usually pop a tic tac with low carb.

What are you doing for bad breath? I had such a terrible taste in my mouth most of the day. I'm scared my coworkers will be calling me dragon breath behind my back.:blush:

I occasionally had SF gum during R1 with no problems. I work with the public so stinky breath is not an option and the gum did the trick!

This is a topic on which I have done much research. As an ex-dental professional, I could not understand why my breath would be SO bad when I knew my mouth was clean! It's because "keto-breath" is from the body expelling waste during ketosis from THE LUNGS.

Yes, breath mints, etc, help. On the particular days that I had the problem though, I had not had enough water to drink, and I didn't eat like I usually do - which includes lots of veggies. (It was a hectic errand day - threw some chicken breasts in the car and ran around - then attended a gathering. (AFTER A RESTROOM BREAK TO BRUSH TEETH), ...it was about 20 min. later that I was told about the breath thing.

So..if you eat the veggies, etc, and drink a lot of water, the waste will have other...um...means than your lungs to exit your body.

Yep, RedL.I is right on the money.

The more water you drink, the less your breath will stink! LOL

I did chew SF gum, too, though in P2 and it wasn't a problem. I used Orbit I think. Whatever kind doesn't use sucralose or aspartame.

Just my two sense - but it could be candida too. Is your tongue white? It usually gives a bad taste in your mouth and your tongue will turn white by the afternoon if you brushed in the morning.

FYI... I have thought my breath smelled lots of times and have asked second opinions and have been told it was all in my head. We're our own worst critics, after all...

Hmmm. I have been drinking TONS of water....no candida here either. I worry about gum since the Dr. said no. Do you think I could chew on a couple a mint leaves or somethings? I think some of it is that I'm trying to drink tea as well as water. I suppose other people may have to suffer for my beauty!

In India, fennel seed is very commonly chewed after meals as a breath freshener and digestive aid. I know this because I would go to the ends of the earth for a good curry! Try it out...you may like it!
