Simeons Protocol -- P3/P4 Week of 7/11/11

This is this week's new thread.

dazygyrl 07-11-2011 05:17 AM

good morning! :hiya:

1moretry 07-11-2011 05:22 AM

Checking in after doing a steak day yesterday. Lost 0.6, which puts me right at the top of my window. My blood sugar came down to 129, so now I am REALLY scratching my head and wondering what to do now.

According to ******, that meal (the biggest steak I had in the house plus a medium tomato) put me at 773 calories, 81 grams of which were protein (almost as much as I normally eat in a P3 day), and only 10 grams of which were carbs (7 grams net/effective carbs after subtracting the insoluble fiber). 44 grams were fat, or 51% of the total.

I am going to avoid all dairy for at least a day or two, stick with meat and low-carb veggies today and see what happens tomorrow.

good morning all, doing my first CD day today with the yogurt, a little over 2# so thought i better take care of it----i did no cheats over the weekend, so i am thinking its water

have a good week everyone---enjoyed a well needed rain yesterday and this morning

RedsSkinnyJeans 07-11-2011 05:35 AM

1moretry Hope you get some answers. :high5:

Checking in. 145 this morning - Had no appetite yesterday and think I may be a bit dehydrated so I expect that to go up.

Busy week coming up - but hope to keep up with this thread at least.

Happy maintaining everyone!

Good morning all. I'm up .4 this morning but with lots of contributing factors. Migraine being the top, so I've been taking sinus meds and painkillers, had toast yesterday morning as well as hamburger (with bun) and fries for dinner then to top off I ate an apple and cheese 5 min before bedtime---oh yeah, two bites of the best carrot cake ever(big bites) and a piece of hubby's twix bar. I should be grateful it's only .4. Especially when you add in all the other stuff I ate yesterday. My .4 gain is still well under my window so I'm just gonna be fairly clean today and all should be well. Have a great morning!! BTW saw a massage therapist for the first time this weekend--(my Atlas Orthogonal doc is out of town) and it was wonderous, definitely an experience to repeat!

shelbyla 07-11-2011 06:03 AM

Good morning everyone. Up 1.5 today right to the top of my window but that is definitely due to an overindulgence of cashews and cherries yesterday, two of my weaknesses. Let's just say that a "cashew and cherry" correction day probably wouldn't work for me! Clean P3 today on the low end of calories and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow...

LaraSuzz 07-11-2011 06:21 AM

Correction day for me today, boo. It might have been the Worchestire sauce used on the bbq chicken yesterday, drats. Steak day here I am.

catjrow3 07-11-2011 07:15 AM

Marking a spot on the new thread!! Happy Monday

jabbok 07-11-2011 08:57 AM

Thanks for starting the thread imoretry.

I am up 1.2 pounds out of my window now, I tried to do an egg day yesterday but it didn't work. Tomorrow is a very long day at work so I won't get in enough water but I will do a correction day on Wed.

debkeversole 07-11-2011 09:16 AM

i have used them and been ok only every once in a while be aware they hold on to liquids so the scale might go up but it will go back down when umm Bernice gets rid of them? :D rinse rinse rinse!! and marinade in some broth and spices really helped make a kinda chicken noodle soup when my DS was dosing and had a cold i liked the flat ones but no one else in the house did they preferred the angel hair

Thank you for the info! I love making pasta sauce and Thai stir fry on P3, and would like to add some noodles to the mix.

We had them in P2. Made "stir fry", spaghetti, and chicken noodle soup. Rinse very well, and i also tossed them into a hot skillet right after rinsing to dry. Just stir them around until they sound squeaky. You will know it when you hear it :D We had no issues with them- I'm just not a huge fan of the texture, a tiny bit too firm for me

dawnyama 07-11-2011 11:17 AM

I just wanted to mark my spot. I am not even sure where I am on the phases after barely following P2 last round LOL. But thought today would be a great day for a steak day!! I am really not hungry, have some beef to use up and a fresh tomato from the garden. Steak day here I come!! Happy Monday everyone!!!

Yummy fresh garden tomatoes are the best.

Well I am still on vacation and mine is bouncing around. I brought my scale with me but it seems to be weird on numbers. I am just gonna keep going until I get home next week and see what it says at home too. I haven't come near a CD but dang it's a bouncin otherwise :D

MaryMouse49 07-11-2011 05:08 PM

well wasn't able to do a correction day today, my dog went into labor and had her 2 puppies today, so had to wait for her while she had her c-section at vet..in town and eat at a restaurant. Still up 4 pounds as my chicken cd day did not work, gy cd day tuesday, looking forward to losing again p2 starts next monday. Mary

I LOVE the Miracle Noodles but use them exclusively in stir-fry dishes. I wouldn't expect them to taste good in Italian dishes. The mouth texture is something you generally either love or hate. If you have ever had the Chinese rice noodles called Chow Fun (they're fat, white, and quite chewy), that will give you a good idea.

I am pretty sure I have had at least one former life in Japan because I like Japanese cooking so much and took lessons in Chinese cooking when I lived in Ithaca, NY, so these are right up my alley. However, if your tastes run to more standard American fare, these will probably not make your day. They are definitely NOT spaghetti!

I just rinse them well, par-boil them 1 minute (per package instructions), then add them to my stir fry in the last minute of cooking. I bought the variety pack online from the company that makes them and like all 3 shapes that come that way: Angel Hair, Fettucine, and "Rice." I plan on using the latter in an (imitation) curry pilaf that my husband makes and tastes wonderful to me, only with the Miracle Rice instead of real rice.

I found it is easier to eat them if you tear them into shorter pieces as you add them to your dish.

I had some of the fettucine today in a stir fry made with ground beef, bok choy, ginger and garlic, cooked in coconut oil. Delish (to my tastes, anyway) and filling, to boot!

I have done steak days at a restaurant before and done really well. I think since you are so close to doing another round then you should not worry about all these CDs. Just continue eating good P3 food and don't worry so much about the scale. As long as you are eating really good for you food you should be fine. How far out of your window are you? I suggest a 5 lb leeway instead of the much narrower 2 lb window Dr S allowed for. Do not forget that all the worrying will cause weight gain as well. So I say quit worrying about the scale and focus on other things...like new puppies!!!

Oh, and congrats on the new puppies!!

Mary,
I totally agree with this!

It was 142 but I took it and ran instead of staying there a few days, so I went up, up up and now have finally come back down. Seems like that happened in R1, too. My appetite has not been big at all! I open the fridge and it's meh---nothing looks good  I'm trying to figure out if this is a good thing or not

1moretry 07-12-2011 05:18 AM

Checking in this morning with a 0.4 loss, which puts me more comfortably within my window. However, blood sugar was up (148) even though weight was down, so this is the see-saw I can't seem to get off of. It doesn't make sense to me:confused:, but I hope to sort it out soon.

moonriver 07-12-2011 05:20 AM

Back from work travel, during which I ate Mexican food with tons of chips and salsa (twice)and snacked on chips (chips are my demon food) ate chips as we traveled back, more chips last night, TOM is due today and ....... i am only .4 pounds out of my window!:kicking::kicking::kicking::kicking::kickin g::confused::confused::confused: I'll take it! Weird. But I'm happy!!! Poor DH ballooned up 20 lbs over the last 5 weeks because he would not do correction days or eat as his wife advised him...(ahem) so now he's feeling down and starting another round today. (He does think it's funny when I tell him what the "girls on the board say to do").

I'm just gonna eat clean today and see what happens....

shelbyla 07-12-2011 05:24 AM

Clean P3 yesterday (no nuts, no HWC, co cherries! ) and slightly lower calories (~1700) netted me a 1.8 loss to drop me down to just above LDW. A couple more days of this and I'm golden! Have a good one, guys!

dazygyrl 07-12-2011 05:29 AM

down 1.4 of 2 lbs spike up from yesterday (still was in window, though). so now only 0.4 above my LDW. i had eaten out for lunch sunday, pizza hut naked wings dipped in their garlic parmesan sauce and their ranch dressing. i think no matter how "on plan" i think restaurant food is, it will still mess with the scale. and combined with no visit from bernice on sunday, i think that's why i was up the 2 yesterday.
