On a side note--test your RX asap! I think you MUST have a bad batch of HCG.
I highly recommend the Nova Sure! It's an outpatient procedure...my school was going the accreditation and my principal was really adament about me coming to work the next day for the WASC meeting. I was able to go in; felt like a bad case of cramps but that was it. Back to normal in a few days; a little spotting the first month or two when it would have been TOM time, but after that - NOTHING! And I had it done in 2007. Such a relief from those heavy periods. My insurance covered it 100% and I even have an HMO. Good luck if you decide to do it - I'm glad I did!

OK, assuming I did the pregnancy test correctly, I have a bad batch of hcg. Absolutely zip, zilch, nada, NOTHING happened on the stick. Not the faintest trace of blue. At least that explains the hunger. So I'll be using my Intermountain drops for now and seeing what happens.

Today's menu:

B - none
L - 2 cups lettuce, 3 oz shredded chicken breast, little WF bleu cheese
D - same

no grains, one apple only if I feel I might die (going to see Harry Potter tonight, so may take the apple with me to avoid the popcorn)

If a couple days of that menu doesn't cause a loss, then I have no idea what I'll do! Fingers (and toes and legs and eyes) crossed!

Went out of town for two days with my hubby and I CHEATED This was my first time straying from the plan, but I really did try to make good food choices, but it was so HARD - lol....Well, today we got back home and I ran to the scale to discover that I had gained .6lbs.....I'm disappointed that I gained, but it was expected after two days of binge eating with my hubby....I did get in some morning exercise at the hotel's gym, so I should be thankful that it was not more than a .6lb gain...There is a christian song that says "we fall down, but we get back up again"....I fell down for two days, but I am home and back on the bandwagon to become a healthier me....Thanks everyone for the great posts of inspiration.....Many Blessings, Marilyn

Earworm!

Lots of ups and downs here, and I'm LOLing that so many of us are on the same TOM schedule -- it's like being back in a sorority

Re: the inconsistencies, though, all I know is that my losses last round are very much like my losses this round: down/down/hold/down/down/hold/up/hold/wash/rinse/repeat. I could make myself crazy at times wondering what I was doing wrong, but in the end, I was down 15 pounds, which is not much compared to some, but is HUGE for me. We all need to take a step back and look at the big picture. As long as we are eating clean (which I know means different things to different people -- but I believe eating as close to Simeon's protocol as possible is the best for me) we will lose weight.

Doxie: I truly hope the drops work for you. It is clear that the problem for you was bad hcg, which must have been tortuous -- I don't even know how you did it. Here's hoping that your appetite will suppress quickly and you'll start releasing in no time.

Did I tell y'all I'm down a pound today? I cannot remember if I did or not, but I am, so yay. Slowly but surely.

I emailed the lady I bought my rx hcg from and she insists that it's me, not the hcg, and that the hcg doesn't contain enough hormone to trigger a pregnancy test, but it was on this thread that I was told to use a pregnancy test...and I'm a lot more inclined to believe someone on this thread than her. Any thoughts? Has anyone else ever tested their hcg like this?

I use homeopathic hcg, Doxie, so it won't respond to a PG test -- but rx hcg absolutely should from everything I've read. It sounds like she just doesn't want to give you your $ back

Doxie, it would depend on the pregnancy test. A regular test might not catch it; if you used one of the tests that can sense a pregnancy one day after a missed period, then it should catch ANY kind of HCG in your urine. Those test are hyper sensitive.

I am so glad that you've probably figured out what to fix. I hope you see good results. There is something in my HCG from Intermountain because as soon as I am due for a does I start to get hungry and when I take my dose the terrible pain goes away. That is, since I started doing six times a day just the 5 drops per dose.

One more .lb gone today AND TOM is here! I had a super massive killer migraine today. I usually get a bad two or three day migraine with TOM (men) but this one was special. I have not had one this bad with the Aura and nausea and the pulsing brain for years. I am assuming it's due to all this fat burning.

I do not expect good things on the scale tomorrow, but who knows. I am going sorta rogue, in that, I am continuing the drops during my menses. I cannot fathom eating 500 cal without the drops; I know I would dive into a tub of cocoa almonds.

So, glad to see that some that were holding or gaining had some losses.

Gooey, hope you're back on track. Come on lady, give your best. Don't be ruled by the food.

I cooked the family my favorite meal, curried pork with cabbage, and the smell is making me sorta nuts. ARGH. Be strong, be you, be strong, be you, be strong, be happy.....

I could be wrong, but I don't think she tested her urine, BC, I think she tested the hcg drops, which should read positive on a pregnancy test.

That curried pork/cabbage sounds divine! Be strong Buttercup! All I can hear when I see your name is "As you wish"

Oh, and YES you do ovulate when you have your tubes tied or corterised. The egg just can't drop from the ovary into the tube. And, with the endometrial ablation, you still continue a hormonal cycle, just, lucky for you, minus the bleeding I was not so lucky. It helped enough that I don't become severely anemic anymore, but I still bleed like crazy.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. My surgery went well yesterday. I'm a little out of it today due to the pain meds. I was up .4 yesterday morning before my surgery but I haven't had a visit from bernice in a few days so that may be the reason. It appears my implants are heavier than the expanders because I was up another 1 lb this morning. I took some magnesium so hopefully things will look better tomorrow. I'm going to go lie down now because I can't keep my eyes open.

Have a great weekend!

Get well soon, Raven Don't worry about the pound right now; I'm sure it will come back off quickly -- the meds and stress of surgery are surely the cause. Just focus on resting and you'll be back in the saddle in no time.

Hey, don't forget surgeries tend to cause water retention for awhile...all the stress to your body needs to heal! Take it easy this weekend!

I stayed the same today.... Going grocery shopping with my DD soon. OK, not that soon, why'd I have to wake up at 6am on the weekend? Definitely planning on picking up some lovely cucumbers and I can't think of what protein I want. I'll visit the seafood department and take a look.

Hi everyone - been gone most of the week. Had a pretty tough one. Knew it was coming, but me & my boyfriend of 2.5 yrs split up. Too bad Simeons didn't write about how to avoid emotional attacks.

I'm on week 2; have lost and gained the same two pounds all week. Better than all gains, so there is a bright side. Today I'm at 192.4; 8 down from loading. Day 11.

Just like the new kids, I'm hanging tough. Y'all keep losing and I'll catch up!!!!!

Raven, I hope you get better very soon!!

I lost 1.4 today finally today after a two-day hiatus. WOOHOO! I'm very happy about that one. Amen to the kelp noodles. They def. helped my struggles. That's 10.2lbs in 8 days, which is a miracle b/c it's a bit better than round 1, I must say!

Just eat clean and drink lemon water today and you'll be fine

I dropped 2.4 lbs today, which should make up for my .8 lb gain from the last 2 cheating days I pretty much followed protocol, except I only had 1 apple as a late night snack. I also mixed my protein source and increase it up to 9 oz.

Good morning! I'm down the 1.4 I gained during surgery so that's great! Feeling a little queasy today. I ate both fruit and both protein yesterday but I didn't eat any vegetables. This wasn't intentional. I already had the fruit & the protein portioned out in little baggies but I forgot to do the veggies so my DH did the best he could bless his heart. I will need to go out for more supplies today and my DH had to go back to work so wish me luck.

Finally!

Down 1.4 today - and I am finally at my preload weight. Anything after this will actually be a loss. I went back to using Intermountain drops yesterday, and I had nothing but 4 cups of lettuce and 7 ounces of chicken breast. I hope this trend continues for a little while, since today is VLCD 12 and I've only lost 4.6 lbs of load weight.

All that lettuce was hard on my stomach, so I would really rather have a cooked vegetable. Has anyone done well using green beans or zucchini? I know it's rogue but if it works that's ok with me!

Feel better soon, Raven, and thanks everyone for the input on the PG test (it was a "Five days before your missed period" test) and the ovulation question - interesting to know.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday!
