Does anyone have a "Bullet"?

The food processor, not the ammo...

I'm thinking about getting one to take on my little vacation because I don't think the apartment we're renting will have a food processor. It appeals because it has smaller containers...but I don't know anyone who actually owns the thing.

Charms 07-10-2011 05:19 PM

I have one and love it!

Use it for making shakes, purees and guacamole too.

Works great.

LilacBruze 07-10-2011 05:20 PM

I love mine too!

privatediva 07-10-2011 05:33 PM

yay! just ordered one. Thank you ladies!

newyorkmeg 07-10-2011 05:58 PM

Need to take mine out of the box....

privatediva 07-10-2011 06:35 PM

I may never use it once I get home, newyorkmeg, but I think it will come in very handy on my trip :)

try2basunbeam 07-11-2011 03:15 PM

I use it all the time. I make my strawberry ice in p2, salad dressings in p2 and p3...I've used it more on the diet than I ave EVER used it before.

privatediva 07-11-2011 03:16 PM

Thanks! I am excited to try it out. Should be here on Wednesday.

LilacBruze 07-11-2011 03:23 PM

I use mine so much that when a certain chain store had them on clearance, I bought another one JUST to have as backup!

I also use mine to make frappachino type coffee drinks. Right now I just use ice, double strength coffee, and stevia, but really look forward to using Da Vinci flavored syrups and HWC!

skyung24 07-11-2011 03:24 PM

I have one and LOVE it - I'm not sure who makes it but I know there's a personal size blender out there as well which my husband bought to take to work to make his shakes and he loves it and it was about 20 bucks.

RedsSkinnyJeans 07-11-2011 03:29 PM

I have one which, i now realize, is CLEARLY under used and under appreciated.
I had only thought to use it for shakes.

See? I'm a total culinary-tard!

privatediva 07-11-2011 03:37 PM

yay...y'all are making me feel righteous about my purchase

heh

AngelMc 07-11-2011 03:40 PM

i use mine to make strawberry icees on P2, and when not on HCG I make my own salsa with it too. Yummmm.

I have 2 but don't use them. I'm hooked on my Ninja. But if I needed to take one on vacation the Bullet would most defiantly pack easier.

Tylar_Connar 07-11-2011 03:56 PM

I was going to post no but I want a Ninja!!

We used it at the beack a few weeks ago. My sil bought it for my mil for Christmas.

Its awesome to make icees in with SF syrup!!

mokih 07-12-2011 08:27 AM

We bought one when our daughter had surgery on her mouth - she was on a liquid only diet for weeks.

I love the thing, one impulse buy that I definitely don't regret!

I used it on p3 to make cocoa crack mousse every few days - yum!

You are not a culinary-tard, I prefer to admit I'm Chef Challenged :hyst:

okay...I think I need to know about this. When the time comes for me to do P3, I am all over anything with a name like that!!!!

The *only* thing I have had stray, unfaithful thoughts about during my VLCD is darrrrk chocolate.

makeupmom 07-12-2011 09:47 AM

I have gone through one and am on my second one. I love mine.

mokih 07-12-2011 02:18 PM

privatediva - I'm not really a fan of the cocoa crack, but I LOVE the mousse!

2 parts heavy whipping cream
1 part cocoa
sweetener to taste - I usually use half splenda and half stevia, it just tastes better that way

Put all in the tall magic blender cup and blend until the sound the blender makes changes. If it gets too thick I stir in a bit of cream or milk to thin it out a bit.

This may be the naughtiest thing I've ever read :) I will really look forward to that! It sounds wonderful.

Ok now I really need to take mine out of the box

RedsSkinnyJeans 07-13-2011 07:01 AM

Ok, so let me see if this cooking-tard has it right. You use the Magic Bullet for:

Slushies
Chocolate Mousse

Would ya'll please post some specifics? Recipes for sauces, shakes, slushies, or whatever you use it for? Clearly I am missing out on using this handy little device.

I did try to make a coffee drink this morning. It sucked. Had to throw it out.

I'm coining a new phrase. "CULINARY IMPOTENCE" :o

And there's no little blue pills anywhere that are going to help me. So please post some recipes! :)

shelbyla 07-13-2011 12:20 PM

Red,

For the mousse, I put in about 3/4c HWC (a LOT of calories!), about 1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa, a dash of vanilla, and a couple of droppers of liquid stevia or a couple of teaspoons of splenda. Blend on high for about 20 secs. Makes the very best chocolate mousse you can imagine. I've also made it with 1 scoop low-carb chocolate protein powder and HWC (nothing else) Also excellent.

privatediva 07-14-2011 09:13 AM

Bullet came. Just made "the" shake. OMGOMGOMGOMG

That's FANTASTIC!!!

amylou 07-14-2011 09:26 AM

Aw Red...don't beat yourself up! There's hope for you yet :D

I bought a bullet first, and then a ninja awhile after. The ninja kicks butt!! I love it! I know have my bullet at work.

I use them mostly for smoothies, but when I get to P3 I use it a lot for chopping veggies..just pulse it; don't run it; and it will chop 'em up good. It works great on pulverizing cauliflower for faux rice and potatoes. I made the cauli "breadsticks" and "pizza crust" a lot on Atkins...and the ninja gets the cauli nice and fine.

Experiment, experiment, experiment!

Don't fear the ninja!...or the bullet!

LilacBruze 07-14-2011 09:34 AM

Don't ask how... but I set my Bullet on fire last night. :hyst:

Blew the fuses in the kitchen, there was a horrible stink, an explosion, sparks flying, everything...

Luckily I had a spare one.

RedsSkinnyJeans 07-14-2011 11:22 AM

HOW?

:hyst::hyst::hyst::hyst::hyst::hyst:

amylou 07-14-2011 12:14 PM

I've noticed w/ the bullet, if you lock it "on" (rather than pulse it) it will get that burning smell.

The ninja nevers does that...plus you don't have to shake it to redistribute things inside like you sometimes have to w/ the bullet.

alonewithyou 07-14-2011 12:28 PM

I have a magic bullet, but it's not really a friend of mine. Which blade do you use to crush ice and make smoothies?
