What's a normal level of hunger on Day 1 of P2?

Hi all--today was my first day of P2 and although I didn't feel like I was starving, I definitely felt very "empty" today--even after my 2 meals and did get hunger pangs throughout the day. I gained 6.5 lbs on my 2 loading days so I'm pretty sure I ate enough fat LOL

I just want to make sure that it's normal because I read so many here saying they have absolutely no hunger. Thanks!

I was really hungry and felt crappy in general my first 2 VLCD's! Hopefully the hunger will recede soon...and the numbers on the scale should cheer you up a bit too!

I just looked over my journal from last time and see that I noted a LOT of hunger my first 4 days, then it stabilized, then it got bad again around Day 9. A lot of folks don't suffer any hunger, but that was not the case for me. It got better, but I had my struggles. As HellsBelle said, it was really just the losses that kept me going some days, but I'm a slow loser, so sometimes I just had to grit my teeth to get through it. I wish I was one of those who never have hunger, but alas, that is not my story. I'm not saying I was hungry every day -- it got better for the most part -- but on those hungry days, it was tough. The peeps around here really helped keep me motivated.

This round I am continuing to play with dosing times. I'm not struggling with hunger as much so far; I did some research re: pellets and noted that some find better luck taking 4 doses per day rather than 3, so that's what I've decided to try. (3 pellets 4x per day rather than 4 pellets 3x per day). I've also increased my calories slightly -- sticking w/Simeon's foods, but having slightly more cals than I did last time, but I will drop them down again if it affects my losses.

I had hunger for quite awhile the first week (last week) and changed my pellet dosages. I am taking 2/4/3, but am still working out the kinks.

I was definitely hungry the first three days after loading. It wasn't horrible, but it was there. Kind of almost a nervous hunger.

The only other time I've felt terribly hungry in the last 12 days was when I got delayed getting home and was a couple hours later than planned eating dinner. I felt pretty lousy that evening but reading this board helped.

How you you add sigs on this board? I feel silly, I can't find that!

I think you need a certain number of posts/days as a member before you can add a siggy. Check the FAQ above -- it probably answers that question. And again,

Today is R2VLCD2 for me (one day more than you). Yesterday, I didn't feel too hungry. Tonight (right now) I'm *very* hungry, but I'm not sure I ate correctly today. I will ignore my hunger tonight, but hope it doesn't continue tomorrow.

Tea and coffee help SO much

Yep, sometimes tea and coffee are the only things that get me through too, Millenia. But YOU should just pull out your pics for inspiration. My GOODNESS! In fact, I think I'm going to use your pics as inspiration for when times get tough!

The first week has always been pretty rough for me. I even have times during that I'am more hungry than usual. I think it ispretty normal especially at first.

I agree--without my tea I think I'd be doomed. It really helps. I am on day 3, and I did notice right away if I eat my dinner too early I will wake up starved the next morning. I ate a little later last night, about 7:30 and am not hungry this morning. I guess it takes time for our stomachs to "shrink" while we get used to this.

LOL! Thank you for that!!

Eh, well, I’m kind of used to it now, so the pics are an awesome change, but sometimes I’m still hungry

It’s okay – this week is MOONS better than my first week on round 1. That loading really helped b/c I’m not starving. I’m really okay even though it’s just day 3

Yes, I can’t eat too early. I hate waking up and being hungry right away. We only have so much food to have throughout the day – my body can’t start too early on me!!
