Exercise or not on P2

I am debating whether to exercise this round or wait until the next. I am 6 weeks away from my HS reunion and on VLCD2. Right now I am in a size 14, with a goal of somewhere between an 8-10 for my reunion. If I do start exercising, it would be callanetics 3x week and maybe Joyce Vedral dvds that I had very good luck with toning while on regular low carb after my first baby. I only use 1, 2 and 3 lb weights with it. So I am wondering if I'd be better off exercising now or would it slow me down for my first goal? I plan another round in the fall to get to my final goal of size 4. Thanks.

The HCGers exercise thread

I haven't begun to exercise yet (P2/3/4) but these folks do! Check it out.

More than most other facets of HCG, this is highly subjective. Depending on your athletic history, your energy, your body, and so much more.

I can only speak for myself. I walked almost all day during my P2, both on my work days and my days off. I had at least 4-6 hours of intermittent walking, and I took lots of stairs. But it was easy for me to do that with work, and it was not the strenuous power-walking. That was just right for me. There were also a few days when I did some manual heavy labor, and during those I had to double my chicken breast and veggie to keep my strength.

I decided to start with walking and swimming laps for this week. If it doesn't slow me down (I'm averaging 2.5 pounds per day right now) I will start light weights and callanetics next week.

Unless you are very overweight, your weight loss will DEFINITELY slow down from 2.5 pounds per day, and not due to exercise. You're in the "honeymoon" stage right now and losing a lot of water weight. You can expect to lose 0.5 to 1.0 per day but there will be days where you see no loss or you might go aup a little bit. Keep in mind 0.5 per day is average for women and don't get discouraged. Good luck and welcome!

I switched to hcg from medifast, so I'm not sure how much water weight I have, but I do have about 80 pounds to lose. Hopefully I can have several days of good numbers before it slows down. Plus I guess I don't care so much what the scale says as long as my new dresses for that weekend fit. They are 10s and I am in a 14, so we'll see.

wow.

I averaged .5 a day in P2, and that was WITH walking for like 6 hours a day. And because I knew my body and my history, I was so strict that I didn't use any creams at ALL. Even used powdered deodorant. Even with all that, I was just happy to finally lose.

Down 1.2 today, so if this keeps up I will keep exercising. I did a dvd with very light weights yesterday for 25 minutes, just upper body.
