I'm a massage therapist--need to find a lotion!

Can anyone recommend a massage lotion that I can use to give massages to my clients? It's not really feasible for me to go the entire time without having to give a massage--it's not my main job but I do need the extra $ that it brings in from time to time. Thanks!

I recently received a massage and brought baby oil for her to use. It is mainly just mineral oil. I did not investigate any lotions because it just seemed easier to bring the baby oil. I'm sorry I am not more help.

I'm a massage therapist. I switched to gel and have not had any problems and found I liked the gel better than the oil...less greasy and less residue on my clients and my sheets.

For what it's worth I don't change out my toothpaste, shampoos, conditioners and I put lotion on my feet every day. I've lost 25lbs and continue to lose.

Hope that helps

Thanks Colleen--that helps a lot! I never even thought of gel...does it have oils/fats in it (sound stupid asking that about massage gel and not a food but you know what I mean). Could you tell me what brand you use? Thanks!

I use Bon Vital massage gel naturale all natural with jojoba. I get it off Massage Warehouse.com It has a green label. The first ingredient on the list is sunflower seed oil and then a bunch of things after that.

I like it and I've been using it for almost a year now. I was petrified when I started protocol because I wanted to do it perfectly and I knew I was going to have issues because of the massage oil. I thought of going with mineral oil but I just couldn't do that to my clients....it was nasty on my own hands never mind their skin. I wanted something with the same glide as an oil. I bought a small bottle of the gel to give it a try and ended up loving it and haven't changed back.

I did change out all my products my first round till about 3/4 of the way through and then I'd forget some days and realized it didn't really matter (for me) I lost every day on my first round.....not the norm I know but I did.

Good luck!

Lubriderm sensitive skin is also mineral oil based and is what I take to my own massages when on protocol. It's a nice light lotion with no other oils that works well for massage. FWIW

Just jumping in here to say that I am a Manicurist and Pedicurist at a high-end Spa and we use tons of oils, scrubs, creams, etc. on our clients that are full of jojoba, shea, vitamin E, you name it, ive dug my hands in it. I also have not changed my skin or hair products since i started and it has not affected my weight loss at all. I think ive heard of a few people that it has affected, but not me. Just an FYI. I have super dry skin, even down here in S. Florida (aka humidity city), and i cant not moisturize my skin and hair. And i hate mineral oil based products. They are just gross to me. We even stopped using paraffin in the Spa because of the petroleum/mineral oil junk. We switched to Eco-fin, which is absorbed into the skin and is a blend of shea and other oils. So ive had my hands in that too.
