Down 1 pound today! That's great for me!

I read an article in a Women's magazine about adding hot spices to lose weight, so yesterday I did this. It might have been a boost for me, because lately I've been losing no more than .5 pounds a day.

Round 3 Phase 2 Loading day 2:

I'm up 3 pounds from my loading day yesterday, but it makes sense based upon what I ate. LOTS of fatty foods as often as I could. Today will be easy as well with the holiday and all. So, tomorrow will be my first VLCD. Looking forward to the downward loss!

Down .4 lb of the 1 lb I gained yesterday. I will be SO happy when TOM lets me resume losses.

THanks for starting this thread 1moretry!

Good Morning! Down .5 today for a total loss of 17.5 pounds since 6/20! I cannot believe I have lost this much in 2 weeks.

Solstyce~ you may have something there.. I ate P2 chili made extra hot and lost 2.5 in the 2 days I ate it.

Good luck to the rest of you that are starting this week!!

Nice loss! The spice thing makes sense to me... I've been using a good amount of spice this round and had consistent losses.

Great losses thus far!!

I did not do very well on my camping trip. I drank some alcohol, snacked (carbs and sugar)... forgot my drops nearly every morning. I did have a GREAT time and had a few nice trips down the river! I am back on today, and weighed myself (tried while camping on the uneaven ground and came up with 132 ), and am only up 2#s. Not bad, IMO considering I was pretty off protocol for nearly 3 days.

I'm going to drink a ton of water, and eat super clean for a few days just to catch up to where I was. I'm SO glad that I was not up more, but fully expect to fight the scale due to my cheat.

Happy 4th, everyone!!

Thanks for getting us started 1moretry and Happy 4th everyone!

I'm down .4 even though I'm on TOM. Fortunately, I rarely gain on TOM and am grateful for that. I'm only .2 away from twenty pounds gone and have averaged more than half a pound a day on this amazing journey.

I can't wait for onderland...the last time I was under 200 was about eighteen months ago.

I HCG! Have a nice day ladies!

Happy 4th of July to everyone! Good luck to everyone loading/starting their next round. I may be starting this weekend...but may wait another week, due to the fact that is the week my husband would like to start. We'll see. We have our drops and pellets ready and our load list is made.

Phase 2 Smoothie

3.5 oz raw spinach
5 oz frozen strawberries
3.5 oz low fat cottage cheese
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
2 droppers vanilla stevia drops
Water

*Most recipes say 3oz, but I use 3.5 of both cottage cheese and spinach

I did pretty well today. I had a P2 smoothie for lunch and a baked lobster tail for dinner (yum!!). I've downed about 80oz of H20 thus far & am having a cup of smooth move... fingers crossed I'm down and not up tomorrow.

Thank You. I haven't finished reading P & I yet, is the cottage cheese protocol? If so, does it replace one of the proteins? It looks delicious!

I'm down .8 of a pound today to 139.7! I've broken into the 130's and I've lost just over 15 pounds!

I've lost 2.5 inches in my waist and 2 inches in my hips.

Woo hoo!

Cottage cheese is not protocol. Here is the relevant part of P&I:
Quote:
Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

Lunch: 1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna,
herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad,
tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4. An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit or orange.

Dinner : The same four choices as lunch.

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times. In fact, the patient should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day.
Anything that is not on this list is not on protocol, as is mixing vegetables (which was the hardest part of P2 for me). There are other versions out there, but they are the "alternative" approaches, not Simeons protocol. Trudeau's version is even stricter, not allowing the bread, oranges or shellfish, and is the one my doctor recommends except he says to not do the apples, either because they also have too much sugar.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, I didn't think it was. The only fruit I've been eating has been mainly oranges and an occasional half grapefruit. I''m not a fan of apples at all, am 100% protocol and intend to keep it that way.

I am starting VLCD Day 1 again.... sick from the loading and ready to get it together again!!

Lilac, did the shakes help you to continue then? Did you lose more at the end of the round or did you move on to P3??

This is another excerpt from Pounds and Inches, showing that the use of eggs & cottage cheese is ok occasionally

"Many patients ask why eggs are not allowed. The contents of two good sized eggs are roughly equivalent to 100 grams of meat, but fortunately the yolk contains a large amount of fat, which is undesirable. Very occasionally we allow egg - boiled, poached or raw -to patients who develop an aversion to meat, but in this case they must add the white of three eggs to the one they eat whole. In countries where cottage cheese made from skimmed milk is available 100 grams may occasionally be used instead of the meat, but no other cheeses are allowed."

Thanks for the correction. I had forgotten that. It's been a couple of months since I read it through.
