I knew many people used cottage cheese and did well, but it wasn't until I saw it in the P&I manuscript that I started using it. I haven't done eggs yet this round, but I probably will soon!

Trying Round 3 with Hhcg Pellets instead of RX injections like I did last year. I hope they work as well as so many people claim. I didn't get the overly full/sick feeling during my loading days like I did with RX, despite eating TONS of food. All I know for certain is that during VLCD1 I was sure I was going to starve to death. Today isn't much better. It's been so long since I did a round that I'm not sure if it is normal or not. It seems like I was hungry the first few days on previous rounds. Hopefully, it will get better. So far I don't feel the effects of the Hcg like I did before. No movement on the scales today, but I somehow managed to not gain anything while loading...so I'll take it!

Despite loading well, I am always hungry the first three days. This round was better, as I felt better by day three, but the first two days were rough (for me!). Hang in there! ![]() |

I have been unsure if the hHCG does the same thing as the injections because there is absolutely no measurable hormone in the homeopathic versions, and some formulations don't even have ANY homeopathic HCG listed on their ingredients, according to what some people have said. Those numbers like 3X, 6X, etc. mean a dilution of 3000, 6000, etc. times and the amount is so small to begin with, it's sort of like waving a chicken over a pot and expecting the water to taste like soup. I have also been unsure about their effect on the hypothalamus, which I think is key to re-setting/healing one's metabolism. I haven't seen any studies that look into the long-term effects, but what I have seen is a lot of people coming back after putting the weight back on (and then some), and they had taken injections AND homeopathic versions, so the data is blurred and one can't tell what causes what. If anyone else has seen anything along these lines, I would like to read it. On another forum (can't name it here), one of the administrators explained (incorrectly IMO) that the homeopathic version causes your body to make its own HCG, which is the theory behind other homeopathics for other hormones, such as HGH (human growth hormone). However, The "C" in HCG stands for "chorionic," and it's the fetal tissue referred to as the chorion (part of the placenta) that produces the HCG. We don't have such a cell anywhere in our body and therefore can't make HCG ourselves. Awhile back, I tried homeopathic HGH and couldn't see any results, so wondered how the hHCG might work. Many people are thrilled with their experience and I certainly would love to do it that way (not have to do injections), but from what I have read on the Internet, the results are very mixed for the homeopathic version, whereas the results for the actual hormone are quite clear and definitive. My doctor prescribed the injections and I know I was getting real hormone if only because I felt like I was on the edge of PMS the entire time! I only felt like I got back my normal self after I went on P3 and the HCG had cleared out of my body. I also take bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (real hormones) and can see and feel their effects. They also show up in blood tests as serum levels of hormone and I am pretty sure that if anyone had a blood test for HCG levels, there wouldn't be any there if they were doing the homeopathic version. Do your pellets actually list HCG in the ingredients?

The ingredients in my pellets are:
• Homeopathic hCG 6X,12X,30X,60X - Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. • L-Arginine 6X, 12X, 30X - Regulates hormones and blood sugar. • Carnitine 6X,12X,30X - Increase fatty acids metabolism. • Ornithine 6X, 12X, 30X - Helps build muscle and reduce body fat. Increases energy production. • Fucus Vesiculosus 3X - Endocrine disorders with tendency to obesity. Non toxic goiter. • Phytolacca Decandra 3X - Tendency to store fat. Glandular disorders. • Thyroidinum 8X - Thyroid metabolism. • Aceticum Acidum 10X - Liquid retention, weakness, anemia. • Baryta Iodata 12X - Slow lymphatic drainage. • Anacardium Orientale 14X - Anxiety for eating. • Calcarea Carbonica 14X - Lymphatic constitutions with tendency to overweight. • Capsicum Annum 14X - Plethoric constitutions. • Graphites 14X - Tendency to overweight associated with constipation and skin disorders. • Natrum Sulphuricum 14X - Liquid retention. • Zincum Metallicum 14X - Anxiety for eating. • Stannum Metallicum 16X - Weakness, fatigue, liver metabolism. I ordered a brand that many people had claimed to "love" on the forums. I was just fine with taking RX injections. It worked quite well for me in my previous rounds. However, I am having lots of trouble with my female hormones being out of balance, and was worried RX Hcg would exacerbate the situation. I really didn't want Hcg to show up on any blood test, nor do I want to explain my dieting choices to my gyno. Hopefully, these pellets will do the trick. I really need to get this weight off. Thanks to everyone for reminding me that the first few days are tough for everyone. This too shall pass... |

Hi everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday! Camping went great, weather was so nice we hated to come back to 105degree weather
. I stayed on plan really well. I forgot my breadsticks but had brought the 100-cal popcorn so nibbled on that during the day instead of chips, etc. I didn't take my scale, but was 173 Friday morn, Sunday I weighed in mid-day when I got back home I was 171.8, monday morn i was 170.2...then this morning I was the 171.8. I will take it since I had some bites off-plan yesterday and not as much water as I should have had! The weird thing this weekend was I started some mid-cycle bleeding, just about 1-1/2 wks after my regular period. THANK GOD I had some products in the trailer or else I would've had to have driven down to get something! Also I have been having some headaches, mostly in the evenings which I thought would've passed by now. I am following the plan pretty closely, so...? Nothing last night though, so maybe they've passed! to the post-loaders!!

Well today I'm only down .2 pounds. Yesterday I mowed the lawn and went for a walk, so maybe I'm retaining water from the exercise.

This is loading day 1 for me. Here I go! 35 days of drops.
I’m up one pound from yesterday, but I’ve stabilized at the same weight since late May, when my first round of P2 ended. Woohoo! Let’s do this. I starved last time on the first week of P2, so I better take advantage of this loading. AND I'm having a small cup of coldstone tonight. |

So after skyrocketing over 10 lbs with 3 days more or less of loading.. I was down a full 10 lbs this morning! In one day, yesterday 174.4, this morning 164.4... I knew it was water... I felt like my skin was being stretched, and I am still way over where I ended last round, but hopefully it will come under control again! I was 100% on plan yesterday, which for me is a feat in itself. I have a tendency to "nibble" and I am not going to do it this time.... Heres to getting rid of 10 in one day

Down .2...TOM is almost over and my cycle hasn't been any different than normal. A co-worker told me she gained ten pounds in one week because she never moves into P3 and she's done a few rounds. She eats what everyone else does...I don't get it....

May I ask you what your menu has been this first week? Maybe I can pinpoint why it's happening?
It's my last day of vlcd down 1 lb this am. That makes 35 lbs on the nose for this round which lasted 36 days. Now a two week break and back to p2 again. I'm feeling very low energy. Maybe I will have a scrambled egg and some cottage cheese for dinner. |

![]() I'm down .6 this am (11.4#s total, 7.4 net). We finally refilled the propane tank, so I made burgers for the fam and cod in foil packets for me. I picked up some Spike seasoning yesterday & some sea salt... trying to keep it semi-interesting till the end of the round. I'm going to have to plan carefully though as I have family coming for an extended visit, weekend trips and a wedding less than a week after P2 ends. I'm already excited for P3... chicken thighs!! |

The last two days: Monday: am snack: Strawberries and Melba toast Lunch: steak and brocolli (Appelbees :blush Dinner: P2 Chili and (2) melba toast pm Snack: Apple and strawberries (one serving of each) Tuesday: am Snack: Apple and Melba toast Lunch: Steak and cucumber pm snack: Apple Dinner: P2 Chili and Melba toast pm snack: Apple I welcome any suggestions! I have been drinking at least 2 liters of water, usually more every day. I was thinking it may be the Chili or the extra fruit serving....or just my funky body ( )? As for the Chili, I might need to only eat it a couple of times a week instead of once every day. Also, I may cut out the Melba toast. I seem to have a hard time controlling myself to just one. They are so SMALL! ![]() Another question, does taking the pellets affect your hunger pangs at all? I am still getting hungry throughout the day and the pellets really have no affect on it. Do they make you more hungry or less? ![]() I am NOT giving up!! I am going to do this no matter what and I promise not to panic....too much anyway. ![]() |

I would limit your self to one fruit at a meal, I don't thing you can mix and you had 3 servings of fruit on both of your days... and you can only have two servings of fruit in one day. Plus the broccoli isn't on protocol. But you knew that.. Here's what I have done for the past 35 days I knew it worked so I stuck with it... Breakfast: Hot Tea with Splenda lunch: 200 grams of beef (Top Round roast all fat removed) 1 large apple Dinner: two handfulls of spinach in a pan and 1 large apple You can split the protein into two meals but I was finding it time consuming and I didnt want to eat two diff proteins in a day so I did beef all at lunch and its yummy when you slice it thin. The 3 servings of fruit and 2 servings of melba toast at once are your culprit. I've never done pellets only injections, maybe a pellet person can offer input? The one time I did p2 chili I had a zero next day so I stopped. Hope this helps~Lara

This is my 12th day, and whenever I feel like taking a nibble I remind myself that I've worked sooooo hard so far, and I don't want it all to be for nothing. For me, taking a nibble here and a nibble there can get me into trouble...and really, what's it for? I KNOW what those nibbles taste like...it is just satisfying my old habits. I am working on strengthening my "control over food" muscles everytime I say "NO!" ...and the power of that control feels SOOOOO good!! Quote:
I am going to be heading up for a family vacay in Oregon between my 1-2nd week of P3...it WILL NOT be easy...but I know how good it will feel for me mentally to stay on plan during a vacay. It will be me and my kids, my sis & her SO, my bro & SIL, another bro, and my mom and dad. My mom can sometimes be touchy if she fixes food and people don't eat it...and she will just have to get over it if I don't choose to eat her stuff. My brother likes to have little cheese and wine happy hours...so that will be easy to partake in somewhat I am down -1.4 today, bringing me to 170.4 . At last night's WW weigh in I was 169...the lowest I've been in a long a$$ time . I can't wait until my home scale is in the 160's!!!Another day without any headaches...and it looks like the mid-cycle bleeding is subsiding |

The prohibition against eating two identical meals in the same day comes from Trudeau's version of the Simeons protocol. I don't believe Simeons said that. Check P&I and correct me if I am wrong.
Simeons DID say to eat 100 grams of your chosen protein at each of lunch and dinner, not to eat 200 grams at lunch and none at dinner. However, as a teacher of mine said, if it works, don't knock it! Each person makes their own choices and we're each a tad different, both in our needs and our lifestyles, so do what works for you. By using ketone test strips, I found that I did most of my fat burning in the mornings, and Simeons' recommendation to only do fluids before lunch made sense to me. However, the nurse who instructed me on this protocol (and had done the program for herself) said that if I was too hungry, I could eat a fruit or part of a meal in the mornings. I wanted to lose the fat so badly that I just drank water in the mornings and think I would not have lost as much as I did if I had done anything else. I didn't even begin burning fat until I had burned off all of the carbs I had eaten and that didn't kick in until around 5 am the next morning, based on my ketone results. |

Sounds like there were some amazing losses! Keep it up!
Today was my first day of no loss/ slight gain. I gained .5 ![]() Trying not to worry about it. I will drink more water today. 2 things I did different yesterday: Strawberries for PM snack ~ I have been sticking with apples. 1 liter of mineral water with root beer stevia ~ I usually just have 1, maybe 2 cans a day of La Croix or Mendota springs bubble water, but it was so good with the root beer! |
