DC, I'm not being intentionally hard on myself. I just WANT THAT DARN CHEESEBURGER SOOOOO DARN BADLY!

I don't think 78g of protein daily is high. That's not high at all. A 6z filet mignon, for example, has 46g of protein. Just the filet. Just for dinner. With or without any diet involved.

Imagine someone eating normally for a day and say their typical menu is bacon and eggs for breakfast, maybe a turkey sandwich for lunch, and a steak for dinner. That is at least 80g of protein, just for 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, 3oz of turkey breast, and a 6oz steak. Never mind anything else they would have that would add protein like milk or cheese, etc.

Does that put it into better perspective?

I don't think that 78g of protein daily is high either if you are doing a regular low carb diet and eating a normal amount of calories.

But it's the fact that we are only getting in 500 calories so that makes the protein percentage for the day (the ratio) extremely high! That is what is concerning me.

But then again, I don't know anything about this kind of stuff, so who knows?!

I guess I didn't think of it that way. I've never paid attention to the ratio aspect of foods on protocol. So let me just say this then - if that was the protein powder I had on hand and was using, I would be using it with no concern. Me like protein.

Oh! I will also say here that I deviated from the shakes today. I had one for lunch but this absolute intense mental hunger came over me after my doc visit. It was not physical hunger, my stomach wasn't rumbling or anything. It was purely a munch attack and who knows where it came from or why. So anyway, I had the P2 chili for dinner lol. And it was JUST as yummy as I remembered.

Yeah, if you look at ****** and compare the nutritional ratios (there is a colored pie chart that shows those numbers) on protocol days to the shake days, that protein is really, really up there on the shake days. I hope that's OK! My husband agrees with you though. He tells me, hey it's working, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!

The protein veggie shake for lunch and the P2 chili for dinner has been quite the awesome combo for me lately!

I'm so glad you got to enjoy the P2 chili for dinner for this munch attack instead of having to resort to 12 pickles!

Lilac: What supplements do you use to lower your cholestral? I hate taking my crestor and it is so expensive. I would really like to try something natural.

Lilac - Hey there shake buddy! I just wanted to let you know to check out the veggie thread for info from Dawn on doing 2 shakes instead of one without having to use the protein powder.

Here is a total shocker for you - no veggies
