Awwww. I'm sorry. I had my fingers and toes crossed for you, too!

Well. Look at it this way. It WAS a loss. Take any that you can get at this point. You read my post how I've lost just a smidge over 4 lbs in the last 14 days. Even those who lose faster eventually slow down! I like to think that - like the turtle and the hare - slow and steady WILL lose the race!

Since I have been battling the ups of water retention, I have not been able to tell if the shakes have affected my losses yet. Today was day 5 of nothing but the P2 shakes (with the extra scoop of protein powder). TOM just exited stage left so I will be able to report soon I hope.

Keep us posted! And congrats on your determination and your losses!

LOL just realized I didn't emphasize the LOSE in "lose the race" - that was meant to be a funny poke at the whole weight loss thing but I guess I blew it.

Today was VLCD44. Total lost: 16.5 (not including load gain). Daily average: .38 loss per day.

Still hanging in there with the shake for lunch and the P2 chili for dinner.

Still losing very slowly but very steadily.

Glad to see you posting!

My daily average for the past 30 days has been .42 per day.

My daily average for the first 40 days was .70 per day.

Average overall has been .58 per day.

I gave up the shakes 2 days ago. I was just too hungry without solid food staying in my stomach. The shake would just pass through too quickly.

Are you going to stay on P2? I just posted that I am going stick it out for one more week and try to correct some behaviors. If I have any hope of locking in my losses and truly stabilizing, I really think I need to.

Dang, I'm sorry the shakes were making you too hungry. I know you were loving the taste of them! I don't have any problem with the shakes causing hunger. But then again, I've been used to veggie shakes for a long time as a lowcarber.

Right now I'm thinking my first day of P3 will be August 7th if I can hang in there that long. I believe that's going to make it a 67 day P2 for me.

I am aiming for July 23rd being the first day of P3 for me. Have 2 birthday celebrations next weekend and could really use a grilled steak or four...

Of course, knowing how I have been all over the place, don't put it past me to stick around on P2 longer. Especially if I can get that scale moving again!

I wonder how your fat cells are doing. I keep hoping that they are just slow in emptying and one morning you'll wake up to this huge whoosh. You are SO overdue for one it is not even funny! I am proud of you for persevering!

Question - what was your rate of loss doing low carb? Mine for when I did Induction from 3/7 to 5/4 was .52 average.

Oh man, a grilled steak or four!

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that happened, and I wouldn't blame you if it did!

Good freakin question!!! What the (you know what) is going on with those (you know what) weird fat cells of mine anyway!!! Yeah, I'm due for waking up to about a 20 pound woosh. Unfortunately I don't think that's going to happen. Heck even a 2 pound woosh instead of a 1 pound woosh would be really, really nice!

Oh man, all I can tell you is that I started on lowcarb on March 27, 2001 at 227 pounds and I don't even know my lowest weight that I got down to. I wanna say it was 167ish (right now I am at 168 ) and that was around maybe 4 or 5 years ago or so.

In May of 2010 (when I went to my new thyroid doctor) I was weighing around 195 pounds, so my 168 right now is really, really good for me!

But I do seem to remember losing fairly well in the beginning of my lowcarb days, then crept up after that, then went down, then up. I have either been a major yoyo dieter or big time staller in spite of my hard efforts!

Unfortunately I have the world's worst memory and I don't record things either so I couldn't tell you what the stats were for that time. Yeah, I know, sad and pitiful!

So do you think maybe you're at a set point and that is why the rate of loss is so slow?

Man, I'd give my left boob to be at 168. Considering that I'm a DD, giving it up MIGHT result in getting to 168. These babies are HEAVY!

No because I've been losing slow the whole dang time on hcg. I have no idea why it goes so slow for me. I'm just lucky that way I guess! I always attribute it to my hypothyroidism and bad case of adrenal fatigue but who knows?!!

Oh, you bet I know all about those heavy babies!!! My cup size is H and believe me, it doesn't stand for hot!!! I often wonder how much less I would weigh if I had a nice, normal size chest!

That is still a high weight for me because I'm a real shortie, only 5'3.25"!

Today is VLCD47. Yesterday I was up a half a pound and then today I went down a pound!

I'm at 167.5 now. That gives me a 17 pound total loss in 46 days.

I seriously need to try to start weighing myself much less often because with my extremely slow rate of loss, it really does take a toll on me emotionally!

Wednesday is the day that I check my losses for the week. I'm thinking of trying to wait until Wednesday to weigh again. We'll see if I can make it!

We're the same height!

I've spent the past 2 weeks in the 0 loss hamster wheel. I really hope to break through this week or that's it. Off to P3 I go.

I posted last night about my dosing time and wondering if that had anything to do with my stalls. The few comments I got seem to say NO, but I can't help it. I am looking for a reason and it's the only one I've got now. I am trying to stay on an earlier dosing schedule to see if that resumes the losses.

My dosing times, no matter how consistent or inconsistent, have never seemed to affect my losses one way or the other.

Today is July 20, 2011 - VLCD50!

Well I did good. I did what I said I was going to do and skipped 2 days of weighing in!

I was sooo nervous to get on the scale today! I'm excited to say that I'm down a 1.5 pounds from the last weighin on the 17th (3 days ago)......

AND I'M DOWN 3 FOR MY WEEKLY TOTAL!!!

I have still been doing my "rogue" veggie shake with protein powder every day for lunch and the P2 chili every day for dinner. I stayed with strict protocol for 31 days and then went rogue on day 32.

I've had the shake and chili every day for the past 18 days except 1 day when I did the shake for lunch and beef and cabbage for dinner. I was afraid that those shake and chili days might be starting to hold me back but, thankfully, I was wrong!

My weekly losses so far:

Week 1: (-4.0)
Week 2: (-1.5)
Week 3: (-3.0)
Week 4: (-3.0)
Week 5: (-2.0)
Week 6: (-2.0)
Week 7: (-3.0)

My total loss today is 18.5. This makes my daily average loss .38. Super, super slow but at least it's still steady!!!

Interesting that you went rogue and your loss picked up a bit. I know not for week 6 but for week 7 at least! I'd suggest pushing the envelope and maybe trying a bit more fat or protein but I don't want to be the one you hate if it doesn't work!

Congrats to you!!

Thanks so much!

I don't know. I'm already getting a TON of protein every day. And I'm afraid to push the fat envelope! Definitely will keep that in mind though!

I'm staying true to my occasinal weigh-ins because of my slow losses and I think this is much, much better for me emotionally!

I think I'm going to weigh tomorrow.

I have been having mineral water all of the time, as suggested by Dr. Simeons. I love it with my chocolate raspberry sweetleaf. Yesterday I tried a liter of club soda instead because it is way cheaper than mineral water. I hope it doesn't affect me negatively. It sure doesn't seem like it would!

I have been drinking raspberry sparkling seltzer water from Canada Dry all this week. 12 pack was on sale for $3.99, I had previously been drinking La Croix but it was $5.99 for an 8 pack.

I hope the scale is VERY kind to you tomorrow!!

I tried to do my new biweekly weighin today but the stupid scale was giving me inconsistent numbers so I am not going to record anything for today.

I guess I'll just wait until Wednesday now which is my weighin day for the weekly total. I hate it when the scale does that!

Good for you!! I myself have not weighed in so far this week. I know I would be devastated to see any ups after hitting my goal. I know when I retain water, I see it immediately in my swollen ankles. I've been seeing it for 3 days now, lol! TOM is due in 4 days so that's another reason I am glad to not be weighing in.

I think the loss will be that much sweeter when you DO weigh in! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

The dreaded water retention............UGH! I'm glad you have stayed off the scale too!

I think that's terrific that you aren't weighing every day. My doctor's instructions discourage daily weighing because we get a little obsessive about the losing. He said that the stress of not losing, or showing a gain, can cause a hormone cascade that will stall you out. I did really enjoy not weighing on my vacation. I could tell things were going well anyway...I was on plan and my pants fit differently almost every day.
