Thanks so much, Paula. I am so impressed with your weight loss! This morning I was 183, my dream weight is 135ish. I have been maintaining at 174-178 for about 2 years. I had some heavy stress about a month ago and shot up to 186, but that is an aberration.
I was trying to figure out what to do about getting the rest of the weight off, because my diet is pretty healthy. Lots of fruits and vegetables, infrequent use of grains and no "white" stuff like rice or bread or pasta. I eat red meat usually not more than 1 or 2 times a week, and often less. Mostly chicken and fish. I probably could cut down on fat, and the fruit. I do best when I limit carbs unless I am pretty active. I am going to go find that info now. I will place my order today, and should get them by Wed. or Thurs. evening. Do you take the pellets while you are loading? I have to read the protocol, but I wonder if my normal healthy eating that I have used to maintain my loss would be considered "loading"? How do you stabilize your weight? Congratulations to you and all the other "losers" here. Ellen |

Melanie! Wooohooooo! That's wonderful! (Nice pedicure, BTW)
How do you feel? On cloud 9, I'll bet! What a wonderful accomplishment! Independence Day now holds a whole new meaning for you! Light off some fireworks and celebrate your victory over FAT!Ellen, this is a very intricate plan and without heavy research and lots of reading, you won't find all the answers to your questions. It's time-consuming to do the research, but time-consuming for others to do the Q&A thing. We've all been there and there is alot to learn! But it's all out there to read. I highly recommend using the Search feature on LCF. Choose "Advanced Search", then type in what you want to know in the search box and choose "Titles Only." If you just do a search for the subject, you will get reams of posts where anyone mentioned the thing you want to learn about. There are sticky threads that have lots of info. OWL hcg website has tons of detailed info, The Pounds and Inches pdf is packed with good info (it is a must-read for all newbies, even if they plan to rogue-it.) I promise you! Once you read those things, you will know much more and understand more. But until you actually start doing it, you will have the usual anxiety about it. I was filled with trepidation before starting, afraid that I would do it wrong. I asked tons of questions myself. Once you get on the road you will relax and find out that it's not nearly as hard as it seemed. As for me, I am experiencing what must be another set-point. I had one at 177, but now I must have one at 168. It's been so many years since I've been here that I can't recall the other set-points I've known, but there's no explanation other than that. If so, big whooshy coming soon! Raining here, so big bummer for all the holiday partiers. I got invited to a last-minute cookout at my sisters but I said no thank you. Not really going to be a July 4th party (her in-laws are Jehovah's Witness and don't celebrate holidays) so it's not worth setting me back in my plan. I only have 36 days to work with on this round. Have an extremely nice day and wonderful weekend! Happy reading, Ellen! Hope your pellets arrive soon. (Yours too, Mini!)

Thanks guys! I'm celebrating today by doing laundry, grocery shopping, cooking for our bbq tomorrow and going on a super long trail bike ride with the family with a picnic dinner. Never thought I'd call exercise celebrating but I truely enjoy staying active! Plus, I know I'll be eating a piece of peach cobbler and homemade ice cream tomorrow night at dinner (eventhough I plan on using splenda it'll still have some carbs) and I need to drop a little bit more to counteract its effect.
The grocery shopping is done, laundry is going, lunch has been eaten (Caribbean jerk chicken on the grill) and now its time to get some mowing and weeding done before we leave for our afternoon at the state park!

Man, I am dealing with some crazy water retention at the moment. I am up 3 lbs overnight! Now, granted, that is right after a pretty killer workout... but my whole body feels inflamed right now
It has for a while now, which really makes me wonder about how much of the weight gain is from that. Even my hands feel really puffy.I think its due to this weird virus we've all had -- turns out that several people in my cohort at school have it too -- kinda like a flu, except that it comes and goes in waves, so I can feel fine one minute and like utter cr@p the next..... its going on 3 weeks for us all, and no real signs of going away. Part of it is TOM, too -- it keeps trying to start, but has yet to really get going---that can't be helping. I'm hoping that the pellets/p2 help shed the water quickly, as well as some fat. Eating that cleanly can't hurt, particularly if I really up my water intake too. Grumble... this is temporary and will pass, but it is frustrating nonetheless. Just thought I'd vent.

Melanie, Peach Cobbler is my fave! I'm going to put that on my list of things to eat for later phases. Enjoy it, and your bike adventure with the family. The weeding and mowing, not so much.
![]() Mini, you will get over this and start feeling better soon. Sorry you're having a rotten day. Unfortunately, we all have them from time to time. I hate being sick! Sounds like you have the "cold from hell." I hate when it infects a group of people (or kids). They keep reinfecting each other! Sucky weather here and not a good scale day. Oh, well! May have an apple day in the near future. I've got no time to waste! It's already day 12 and I only have 36 days to work with. PRESSURE! |

Welcome Ellen and TurnNBurn! Of course you are welcome to join us! Let the losing begin/continue!
This thing I have isn't really a cold -- no respiratory symptoms at all -- just achiness, joint pain, sweats, dizziness, fatigue, light sensitivity and major full body inflammation. It totally comes and goes -- I can feel fine at times, and like dying at others. I actually feel a bit better knowing that others have the same thing, and that it is behaving in the same weird way.... we were all remarking that this is unlike any flu/virus we've ever had... very strange. It's hitting my sweetie particularly hard because of his MS... but everyone in this house feels pretty lousy. I am going to up the vitamins and drink a lot of water -- see if I can get the immune system fighting a bit harder and winning the battle. Definitely no workout for me today -- resting up here. I really won't be surprised if I drop a number of pounds on the scale when this inflammation goes down -- it's pretty amazing how puffy I am right now. |

I hope all those vitos and stuff help to boost your immune system. That virus or bug sounds horrible. I hope you all don't have some new, yet undiscovered ailment! With the world the way it is today, I wouldn't be surprised!
Welcome, TurnNburn! There's plenty of room, girl! Come on in and make yourself at home. Mini, I am limited as to the length of this P2 only because I need to be in P4 during a certain few weeks in August. That is the month each year that is the biggest test for me. I go camping with family, the local Town Fair is the next week, my birthday kicks everything off on the 1st, and my sister Robin's birthday tidies things up on Labor Day weekend. There's also a brother-in-law's birthday in the middle. It was last August that did my Atkins momentum in. I was doing great and had just reached 179 when "August happened." So, if I can be in P4 for the big things, I will survive all right. My birthday will be P3, but that's okay. I can live with that. Then, come September, I'll have another clear window for my final (hopefully) P2. At the rate things are going in this round so far, I may have two more rounds after this one. I may be going to a local small amusement park tomorrow with sister Donna and possibly her hubby and my Mom. It's ALL up in the air right now, so we'll see what the weather does, etc. I'm more of a planner. She's more of a "fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants" gal. I think her hubby has made her that way because he's like that himself. She's learned to roll with it! Ate the same today as always but ate an orange for my fruit rather than the usual strawberries or (as of late) a half of a pink grapefruit. Could the grapefruit be slowing me down??? I will see what happens. Got no other choice, do I!? The OWL program allows oranges, but this was my first ever on P2. I hope all of you lovely ladies have an excellent evening and a wonderful 4th! Hey! I think I'm going to start the new weekly thread right now, so nobody's posts get lost in the shuffle. I'll post the link here when I do it. |

Melanie, congrats on the success. I haven't been so clean today. Brats, pumpkin pie and ice cream, nuts and jerkey. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
