Good morning all......Does anyone know of any reason why I can't take psyllium husk fiber to keep me regular? I am so used to taking it every day, but the girl that works at the heath food store (where I get my HCG) said she doesn't think I should take it. She couldn't give me a reason why; I don't think she knows. I am a nurse and can't really see any reason why this would interfere with anything.
Anyone have any informed insights on this?

Black coffee in the a.m. as usual. Lunch today was chicken, broccoli and salad with a tiny bit of french dressing. The last 2 probably are not really supposed to be on this plan but I will have to adjust downward throughout the week. Water with a bit of crystal light.

Hungry? No, not really.
JFYI, your load days are actually the beginning of P2, because you are taking HCG during that time. In reading your lunch menu, I noticed that you didn't list a fruit in your lunch but had two vegetables instead and if that french dressing has any oil in it, it wouldn't be on protocol. I looked at the ingredients listed for crystal light and it contains soy lecithin, which is a fat, also. I think that's where the calories in it come from.

If you haven't read P&I regarding the program (or Kevin Trudeau's version of it), that might be helpful to you in getting the results you want from doing this approach. Just a suggestion and totally up to you.

I really don't know, but since it's not listed in the protocol (which was the result of lots of research across thousands of patients), I wouldn't do it. Simeons made it clear that everything we put in us has a different chemical composition and it could affect your results.

The nurse who instructed me on the protocol told me to take extra magnesium and to keep on taking my 2 grams of Vitamin C to prevent constipation. Drinking lots of water is the other thing that helps.I haven't had one day in all this time without a BM once a day. I haven't needed it, but Smooth Move tea is allowed and I have heard it recommended for constipation if you experience it. The amount of bulk in this diet is very low, so if you had regularity problems without that extra fiber, you may need to do these things to prevent that and stay on program.

You are doing great, and yes, the losses will decrease over time, but that is part of how this whole thing works. It's a learning experience as well as a "losing" experience, so perhaps taking an experimental approach might be easier on those emotions!

Today is my last VCLD day before going to P3 tomorrow and so far I am holding steady at 0.2 above LIW. Am excited and scared about P3, and hope I won't be on yet another roller-coaster there.
You still are 20 pounds lighter then you were 7 weeks ago, you did great.

Enjoy P3 just take things slow the 1st week.

I am moving into P3 on Friday July 1, I decided this morning when I weighed that if I only lost what I gained the day before it was time to move to P3 and guess what I only lost what I gained the day before so no pellets today I am moving on.

Hi Guys,
I woke up with a mean headache at 4am, took some tylenol and prayed to the scale gods lol. Its day number 29 of vlcd and I am mentally looking for reasons to go to p3. I decided that it would be a sign if I got on the scale and saw a loss that I would continue and I did so now I will keep going. Not sure what I will do, I guess that it depends on the number on the scale tomorrow. We will see what happens! I just would feel comfortable if I broke through to the 30's before I take a break. I have 14 syringes left and then 3 days of waiting so potentially I could keep going 17 more days. Or I could stop now and p3 on saturday morning. Decisions, decisions, lol.

I know what you mean, I also struggled with continuing on in P2 but after the week of losing only about 1 pound I decided that I would move onto P3 so yesterday was my last day of pellets and I will be in P3 on Friday.

If you are losing at a steady rate and your head is in the game just continue as long as you can.

1moretry- Yes, 20 lbs in 7 weeks is a nice loss, especially considering how small you are already. I wish you good luck in p3 and do hope you will continue to post because I appreciate your wisdom.
Do the average weight loss numbers (.5 to .8) include load weight? I keep thinking that I am below average, but if I include load, I am ok. I really don't want to include it because I had been so solidly at 177, but I am just curious if anyone knows?

Back up a half lb today. Ez come ez go I guess.
I never got a chance to have fruit yesterday, I wonder if........................

That's a great steady loss!

I love summertime and warm weather. (Although it's going to be 105 on July 4th ). I always seem to do so much better eating wise when the weather's warmer...LOVE my salads...and maybe I just eat less/better because I can't hibernate my body in warmer clothes

DITTO 1moretry!!! Ditto!

Hang in there Snaggle...I know it's harder if there's a gain

Well I stayed the same today...175. I've been eating chicken for every protein, and last night I had some tri-tip. I always seem to stall/gain the day after eating beef, so I'm not all that surprised. As of the WI this morning, I hadn't had a bm since Sunday morning, and I knew there was something hibernating soooo... Then I got to my work, did some bizness...stepped on our medical scale and it said 172.8. I know my home scale reads higher than others...my WI at WW last night was 174.2...but I'm just going to stick with the 175 from this morning, and stick with what my home scale tells me since that's the one I've started with and it's the one I WI on every morning nekked!

Yes, I totally agree, the longer you go, the less you will be losing each week, but remember we might be losing inches too. I will try to stay on plan. I'll get on the scale and if it moves down tomorrow then I will keep going. Happy P3 to you on Friday, you deserve some good p3 food!

VLCD54 for me, I am trying to hang in there to hit 199 lbs but now it looks like that will be a little over 60 days for me. It's important for me to hit that target as my LDW before moving on to P3. Oh well, when you've lasted this long, what's a few more days?
You'll be headed down on the scale as soon as Aunt Flo packs her bags...good attitude and you are so, so close to Onederland!

Even though I had to clean the house from hell last night (till 1 a.m.) because of a Section 8 inspection today, I still lost. I thought for sure I would retain a ton of water. This house was 104 degrees downstairs and 113 degrees upstairs. I am a red head and fair skinned and I was beet red and ended up with a heat rash all over my body, including my face. I am just a picture of loveliness right now. :0(

But, I'm down a pound!!! I will just hide my happy littl-er butt away till this hideousness vanishes!

Nice loss! The first few days are kind of rough for me (fatigue, etc), but by day 4 or 5, it's much better (IME). I look forward to taking this journey with you...

The closer to protocol I stay, the better my losses are. If I eliminated a melba or a fruit, I wouldn't lose as well. Not everyone reacts the same, but that has been my experience... Keep going! You are pretty close to the end (assuming a 23 day round).

I'm down 1.4# this morning! Steady as she goes... I know it will likely slow down after this week, but I'm enjoying it right now!

I need to make some food for the camping trip this weekend. I had a gathering with my girlfriends last night (who are coming camping). They are all supportive, & 1/2 have done at least one round of hcg. That helps as they don't offer me anything. It was hard, though as everyone brought food (artichoke dip (my fav!!), puff pastry treats, etc.), but I as good and resisted!!

VLCD6: 9.4#s lost, 5.4#s net

Beef seems to stall me too (on previous rounds). I try to limit it to once every 3-4 days. Scales reading different weights is soooo frustrating.

oopsie rolls are awesome---you can even use them for french toast, dip them in the egg, be sure if you like cinnamon to put some in the egg, and dip them in and fry, and top with butter and sf syrup---so good with a side of bacon or sausage---

people have used mayo, sourcream or cottage cheese, but i prefer cream cheese to make them

May I have your Oopsie Roll recipe made with cream cheese please? I can trade you my favorite Recipe Coq Au Vin, or Creamed Spinach?

i will be starting p3 tomorrow, scared and excited at the same time---i was going to do it 1 more day, but decided to call it quits----i did though this morning use my regular shower gel, i sure missed it---i believe tomorrow i am going to have a good burger on one of my oopsie rolls and a salad with mixed veggies and good dressing-----i'm sure i will be full before its finished, will see

enjoy p3---i am thinking about doing pellets next round, do you like them better than the drops

i know there are some different recipes out there, but this is what i do---i take 4 oz cream cheese (full fat kind)--6 large eggs-- a small handfull of mozzerella cheese or yesterday i used monteray jack--and garlic powder--

seperate the eggs, be sure to use metal pans and not plastic---beat the whites till stiff, then have all the ingredients in with the egg yolks and beat them up about 30 sec----then fold the yolks in the whites very carefully not to break them down, this usually makes 12---yesterday i baked them on parchement paper, and that works great, otherwise you are scrubbing the baking sheet for ever

i think there is a recipe out there called flopsies when everything is beaten together and baked in a pan and cut in squares, but i have never tried that

I <3 oopsies on P3... only 15 days!! I love the results, but P2 kills me. My inner foodie is offended at the lack of choices.

Keep on trucking, you can make it.

She couldn't give me a reason why; I don't think she knows. I am a nurse and can't really see any reason why this would interfere with anything.
Anyone have any informed insights on this?
I don't see why not, what is it going to hurt?

Good luck in P3

The nurse who instructed me on the protocol told me to take extra magnesium and to keep on taking my 2 grams of Vitamin C to prevent constipation. Drinking lots of water is the other thing that helps.I haven't had one day in all this time without a BM once a day. I haven't needed it, but Smooth Move tea is allowed and I have heard it recommended for constipation if you experience it. The amount of bulk in this diet is very low, so if you had regularity problems without that extra fiber, you may need to do these things to prevent that and stay on program.
I guess since I am NOT following Simeon protocol 100% I should maybe leave this thread. I am one who believes that if a little bit of tweaking of a program is what is needed to personalize a WOE, go for it. I know what works for me.

I didn't weigh here at home this morning as I was at fiance's place. I did weigh on his scale and liked the number but, with the fiasco of yesterday's weights and my scale, I will wait until tomorrow to see what mine says.

Don't leave! I enjoy your input. Everyone reacts differently to HCG... whatever works for you is great!
