ONEderland - no longer just a dream!
Even though I was battling the water retention from hell this week and weekend, I kept positive. I was shopping with my girlfriend over the weekend, and we stopped in Torrid. Yes, I know I said I was done shopping in plus-sized places, but I figured might as well take a look at their huge clearance sale, ya know?
So there was this dress... this smokin' hot, sexy dress. It was marked down from $70 to $17. Since it was on clearance, there were only 2 of them - a size 22 and a size 12. Now, 22 was my previous size on a good day so out of habit I reached for it and took it into the dressing room. It was HUGE on me, which was a great feeling! But I was a little sad because there was no way I could fit into the size 12. I didn't even try. So I started leaving the store empty handed. I started thinking though. One day soon, ONEderland will happen. Like Annette Bening in "American Beauty", but instead of "I will sell this house today", I kept telling myself, "I will fit that dress one day" and so I went back and bought it. FYI I have not been a size 12 since I was 16 years old! I was making chit chat with the cashier and mentioned to her that I had lost over 60 lbs. She looked me up and down and said that she thought 40 more lbs would put me in the dress. I told her oddly enough, 40 more lbs was my goal! She said it was a perfect reward, which it would be! So I get the dress home. My 18 yr old daughter ogles it, and I ask her to try it on. She is a junior's size 17 and 170 lbs (which is my goal weight). The dress fit her PERFECTLY. Now, since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, she has my shape and let me tell you, getting a glimpse of how amazing that dress will look on me was GREAT! The dress will hang patiently in my closet while I work at these remaining 40 lbs. With HCG having made wearing it (and hitting ONEderland) a reality, pretty soon the only thing that will stop me from wearing it is lack of somewhere fabulous to wear it to!! ![]()

Good for you! And, in looking at your stats, ONEderland isn't far off at all!
And thanks - you've given me a poke to go try on a couple of things that have been hanging in the closet for years. Not that they're in fashion, but I'm now curious to see if I can fit into clothes that are over 20 years old - because I'm convinced a size 12 now is not the same as a size 12 in 1989 We'll see! |
