NEEKO - Not so much junk in your trunk huh? :-)
![]() Porkfat: Not only are you hysterical, but you also type quite admirably while lying on the floor ![]() ![]() But, enough about you, let's talk about me. As if I didn't have enough problems, today I fell in love with a dead guy. You heard me. Dead. Gone. History. Cloistered once again in my home and recuperating, I decided to read an autobiography that's been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years. Benjamin Franklin. Now THAT was a man!! Spent the day with him. Positively brilliant! On the food topic, I have been noticing a trend. I'm really loving the agave syrup, but I'm using it more and more. (Cravings? sorta) Anyway, tonight, I found myself catapulting out of my recliner to go find something sweet. Without a recipe, I threw together a mixture of the following: Ricotta cheese, tablespoon of agave syrup, some shavings of unsweetened chocolate, and some walnut halves. YYUUUMMMM!! Having not yet achieved the pinnacle of naughtiness I sought, I then poured myself a glass of non-fat milk. My FIRST since March. (I really love milk). I swear, I have become sugar-paranoid. I'm always looking at sugar and carb amounts on labels, and up until now, I stayed away. My snack was wonderous, (although I did not pass out, like Porkfat, I did feel time stand still while my taste buds did backflips). After finishing though, I have this sense that there is NO WAY I can eat this without seeing a gain. A FULL glass of milk???? That's a freakin' lotta sugar!!! PLUS I had agave syrup twice today. Yeah - I do believe in pushing the calorie envelope, but not with SUGAR!!! Why don't I just go roll in a hill of confectioners sugar with my mouth open while I'm at it? I vividly remember being afraid of P3. I'm in P4 - but haven't done much exploring back in the world of carbs and sugar at all. Did I just eat clean? Or not? Heck, I don't even know!!! But, it doesn't matter now, because I have about 30 more pages with Benjamin. I love Benjamin's brain. :-) I would so totally jump him right now. LOL EEeuuuuwww!!! I just grossed myself out Hahahahaha. Night everybody :-) |

[QUOTE=RedL.I.;14791651]Before I forget:
THANK YOU Sunny7 for posting the Ricotta Pancakes Recipe! Cat: Cannot WAIT to try PB2 - in chocolate too. THANK YOU!!! Vee: I just moved from Vegas! Miss my friends there very much. I lived in Anthem - south area. Seriously, this is the first time in my entire life I have had to make myself EAT.[QUOTE=RedL.I.;14791651] Well, you and I were pretty much neighbors then! I live off Eastern, right before it forks off and becomes Anthem...maybe a fifth of a mile from the Von's there. Same for me...I feel satisfied with much less food than normally and am counting calories just to make sure that I am getting in enough calories in these first days of P3. Never thought of myself as a Type A personality, but I can definitely relate to the "all or nothing" thinking. A bit of a perfectionist, I never do anything halfassed...whether it's housework or a diet. And if I'm not taking care of it at the moment, I'm quite adept at ignoring it! ![]() Unlike you I never counted calories in my life. Always thought I couldn't do Weight Watchers because of that and for the same reason didn't believe I could do the Hcg protocol when my daughter tried for weeks to get me to try it with her. Now I am counting and weighing just to see how far I can push them. So far I've gone a bit over 1700 with no change in my weight since LDW. I have totally adopted your philosophy as my own and continue to be amazed at how much I can eat without the scales moving at all. I totally appreciate yours and PFR's posts in this thread for helping me wrap my mind around this idea. Absolutely love seeing all you other ladies posts of your progress too. Thanks all! |

Just read your last post, Red, and YES!!! If you are in P4 you should most definitely be exploring sugar! I plan on it and can hardly wait. If Dr. Simeon is correct, you should feel totally confident stepping on the scale in the morning.
Goodnight and enjoy Mr. Franklin |

I should probably say also that I went directly from last drops day to that 1700 calories. Since I am doing drops that don't call for doing the 2-3 days of 500 calories after stopping the drops I just jumped right in. Also, I haven't tried to keep my calories low at all...on the contrary, I feel as though I am having to force feed myself at times. Betting you have a pleasant surprise in the morning! I know what you mean!!! Vee! I lived around the corner from you! Uphill, on Reunion, around the corner from the school. :-) Lesson learned today: Just as I had sensed yesterday, pushing the calorie envelope is good - but the content is vital. I WENT UP THREE POUNDS!!! Whoa!!!! Here's what I ate: First, I didn't eat until 11am. Then I scarfed down some mouthgasmic ricotta pancakes, topped with vanilla agave syrup because I didn't have any sugar free maple syrup. (Also, I 'hoovered' quite a lot of them) Lunch was leftover steak and a big salad, (normal) Dinner was more steak, salad, and then I had a craving so around 9pm I made the dessert that was similar to cannoli filling, sweetened with agave syrup, and a full glass of milk. SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR - and lots of ricotta cheese. I felt over-full and bloated going to bed. Like when you stuff with chocolate chip cookies and milk. I normally eat really heavy on the protein, fruits and veggies, but add IN lots of butter and avocado and whipped/sour cream. So that's the big difference. I love ricotta - but it's on probation, and need to go a few days without my beloved agave syrup. So tired of being sick - my cold is now in full swing.
