My trip was great. It was beautiful, relaxing, great weather, great people, wonderful time! Now the gain part...Hmmmm... I had a terrible experience with swelling like I have never seen. Started the first night, continued after I got home. I no longer had nice little ankles (which I have very small ankles) I had huge rolly cankles and it moved all the way up my thighs. It was very scary. I would put my feet up at night on pillows and in the morning they would be back to about 80% of what they were the night before, and then it would start all over again. I was so worried that when I came home, I went to the dr and they ran all these tests and ultrasounds looking for clots, etc. It was just weird.. so the weight gain... wait for it.... ???? I was about 30 lbs over in 5 days from when I left. Now.... most of that was water weight! I did not eat great at all on vacation.. but I was scared to death of the scale since I could see my legs... after the swelling started going down after 3 days of being home, I dropped the 20+ pounds ...(boy it felt absolutely terrible in my legs too) and I am still working on the last 7 from what I am up from before i left... but getting there, slowly but surely!! I hope you all enjoy your trip, and try not to enjoy the DDD Tour too much!! Lordy, I would be scared!! LOL BTW, I also have very low blood pressure, usually under 100, like 90/56 or something... It is a P3 CD, and I hear you can use any "berries" strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries..

Just popping in for a quick note. No time for personals right now. Wishing everyone a successful day today!
I am on R2P2VLCD1 and I'm up 4.2 lbs from my 2-day loading. But it will come back off, hopefully rapidly. I will be back to where I was in my ticker before we all know it! Then it's onto the next decade!Last edited by CherylB; 06-22-2011 at 09:12 AM.. |

Thanks, Stacy! Actually, after Bernice made an appearance, I was only up 3.6, so that was a bit better. You are doing great! You were bound to hit a day or two or three of not losing. I have gone a longer period than that without losing on Hcg.
Cathy, just noticed you found the Atkins '72 thread. I had signed-off of it after faithfully participating there since October of 2009, but things got so painfully slow that I decided to bid "them all" ado. (All two of them?) So, I replied to your questions over there and I'm back to that thread, so long as there is life!

-1.6 today to 136.6. So, I lost my rebound weight and a little of my salad cheat weight.
I only have 7 shots left to make it to 40, and I have no signs of immunity. I am also due to start my period around then, so I think I will just extend shots or switch to pellets until my period is gone and I am within a few pounds of goal weight. I think if I got to about 128 or so, I would be okay with that window. |

Hi everyone!
Had a busy day yesterday. Worked around my office for a while, then decided to scoot up to my daughter's for her birthday. She lives about 100 miles (and 3 1/2 hours) away. I got there around 7 p.m. We went to the park and barbecued burgers, had salad and an apple. Went back to her house around 10:30, bed around 11:30. Up at 6 to drive home. Whew! Needless to say, I didn't weigh this morning, so have no idea where I am...weight-wise. At least I ate correctly. Two salads, two fruits, but possibly not enough protein (and the burgers were not the leanest, but they were small-only had one). Cheryl-good idea to focus on the health aspect. You are right; sometimes we get so focused on the pounds, we ignore what our bodies are needing! Good luck! Onward and downward! I'll check in tomorrow!

Hello!
Tomorrow I start R6VLCD1. I have always been on the rogue side, so thought I would join this thread. I have always used Splenda but recently switched to EZ-Sweetz. I also drink a diet soda on occasion, but try not to since the sodium make me retain water! I have decided to go with the OWL diet this round. I have 30+lbs to lose (depending on where I end up in the morning). I only gained 1lb after my first load day, so we will have to wait and see.Tonight I have to go shopping. I need fruit. I have chicken breast from Costco in the freezer (love my Food Saver!) and stuff to make salads with and of course 4 bottles of Walden Farms dressings! Oh and I also need to get my "starch". I was thinking about using the popcorn. What do y'all use? |

Hi, Lindy! 6 rounds? Bravo! I see you do the injections. Have you done the shots all the way through from the beginning? Wow. I'm just entering R2 and I can't imagine 6 rounds. (I do pellets.) I'm really impressed!
I use the popcorn or I use the dry grissini style breadsticks. I haven't found Melba toasts in my local store. I should look harder for them because on the OWL plan, you can have sugar-free jams and jellies on that melba. I hope you have an awesome round and that you post often with us. We are a friendly group of gals! (I'm on old transplanted Texan myself. Nice to know you!) |

My biggest issue right now, is I have NO hunger....none...I am having to make myself eat as I know I lose better when I dont skip meals...if I went by my hunger I would be lucky to have 1 meal a day...I am really lucky to get in 500-550 cals a day....its a catch 22 for me....no hunger, but know I MUST eat to lose...
sorry just rambling... |

ruinous week! I've been eating poorly, and got sick, which weirdly made me only want to eat junk food, with the thought of anything else making me literally nauseated. I feel a little better today and am on track foodwise so far. I won't be weighing myself for a few days, I don't think! *sticks head in the sand*
mdolph, I went to a DDD place in seattle a few months ago for chili, and whoaaaaa was it good. over the top chili deliciousness! |

I checked the menus at the DDD places were going and amazingly 2 of the 3 have low carb options! How amazing is that! One is a cajun restaurant and the other a mexican restaurant. I'm guessing I won't be totally low carb but DH and I have already planned to pack only low carb snacks and foods for us and the kids, well they'll have some fruit snacks) to keep us as low carb as possible so these three meals that will be split one each day, is going to end up being like when we followed carb addicts! Lunch we're packing and breakfast comes free with the hotel ( they even have an omlet bar).
Cathy- OMG I'd be scared too! After each of my pregnancies ended, with both my kids and my 2 m/c, I had horrible swelling. So much that I couldn't wear shoes and with my daughter my legs got so bad I couldn't wear pants! I itched horribly too! Now everytime I get too hot I start to swell. Sucks! Looks like most of you are in a weightloss rut! Let's hope for a better tomorrow! As for me, I've been having some horribly stressful days this week and I don't see an end in site. To top that off TOM should show up on Sunday. That's making for a very emotional week. Friday I'm having a garage sale and have nothing organized. I wouldn't even do it if I didn't need the money for vacation. Then we're refinancing the house and the bank is always calling needing something, my son's in a speech therapy camp and so on and so on! Life is just too busy!

Yes..!!! Mine itched like crazy too!!! OMG... I hope it never ever happens to me again. I could not wear my sandals either on vacation, as they were tigher, with zippers up the back, and they were too tight after I had been up for an hour... it was horrid!! I hope it does not ever happen just from me getting hot!! UGH! |

I'm going to try and be more faithful about posting. It has been a very rough couple of weeks for me physically (pain wise) and I just kinda withdrew into myself to cope. I started back on round 2 but am not following any protocol except lowcarb. . .probably the closest is Atkins. I am still losing weight albeit more slowly than the last round but I am seriously needing to go clothes shopping because I am shrinking.
Summer has definitely arrived here in the Valley of the Sun. I trust this finds you all well. Diane |

And thanks! Well, today starts my first VLCD for this round. I have 36lbs to lose to get to my goal and then I will decide if I want to go lower. Hopefully I won't have any hunger over then next couple of days. (fingers crossed!) Last edited by tobethinner; 06-23-2011 at 04:39 AM.. |
