Dazy- I have the same issue... I lose better with more calories, within reason, lol! I try to get about 800 calories in and that seems to keep me and the scale happy. Today I only got about 500 calories in, if that, and while I know I'll see a loss I know that if I keep this up I'll stall out so I'm already planning the rest of the week's menu!

Cheryl - I do eat melba and at least one fruit a day. I was just commenting that on Sunday when I went off plan a little, I didn't eat those 2 items. I have never done a CD in either P2 or P3 - I will consider it for tomorrow but I have always felt like tomorrow, the scale the move. Not yet....

Best of luck as you start round 2!

Morning all, down 3 pounds and back in the 150's! Only 9 pounds to goal and I've got 13 more 13 more weigh-ins. I totally don't expect to hit it as I'm just not that fast of a loser on this plan (or any plan.) We're going on vacation the week of the 4th and are staying at a water park hotel for 3 days so I've gotta get myself bathing suit worthy!

Maggie, sorry for a bad day! Hope today is better!

Hmmmm, I guess I missed this new thread and was still posting on the old one. I must have missed the new link to this new thread off of the old one?????????

Woot, woot. Down 2 lbs today. I feel thinner and lighter too. I walked outside this morning and actually felt like I had a bit of a spring in my step and could go a bit faster than the last time I walked.

I had supper out last night and the salad I ordered with grilled chicken comes with ranch dressing already on it. This was posted in the menu and I asked the waiter to bring vinegar on the side instead. He told me they only had balsamic and I said that was fine. When the salad came, I took a bite and the ranch dressing was on it. I sent it back and he apologized. The 2nd salad came and there was a small pitcher with what I assume was balsamic vinegar, yet it didn't look as clear as vinegar should, kind of cloudy. I poured it on any ways. I am wondering now if there was oil with it? I had a good loss anyways. But, I guess I did the best I could. Maybe next time I should just aske for lemon wedges to squeeze on top instead. That way I know what it is.

Maureen, I was on Diet Center many, many years ago (early 80's). I lost 85 lbs on that plan. Of course, as with my past experiences, I yo-yo'd back up after my first pregnancy. Have you used Wasa crackers recently in place of Melba toast?

Tracy, your goal wt is 99? How tall are you? I have been experiencing real hunger too. But usually between meals, not during.

Paula, what is LDW and CD? I am guessing that adding yogurt you are wanting to gain wt?

Dazy, love the OMMs

Cheryl, thanks for starting new thread. I too am sober. I celebrated 7 yrs May 30.

Melanie, welcome back even though I snuck in while you were gone.

Everyone else, hi.

I'm not Paula but LDW is last dosage weight (your wt the morning of your last dosages) and CD is correction day (apple for P2, steak for P3).

PiDevil answered the acronyms, but I'm in P3. When you are more than 2 pounds over your LDW, you do a correction day. The Greek yogurt is one... I lost 3.4 pounds overnight.

awesome job on the CD loss, paula!!

i was down 0.2 from my first weight yesterday. just 0.2 from low a few days ago. i was a bit surprised i wasn't down more as many times as i was in the bathroom <blush>. BUT dh and i ate at hu hot on sun so maybe i had some water retention from that (sodium). i'm good with where i am, i know it will keep going down. i was going to make today my last dosing day and move on to p3, but i don't *want* today's weight to be my LDW...lol! so on i go! will just have an interruption meal on our anniversary and cont on with p2 after that s well.

Thank you both! Today is a new day, and other than the Benadryl making me sleepy, I'm doing okay. Just had a meltdown yesterday and comforted myself with food. Something that I've been working on, and this was the first time in 4 rounds that I used food as a comfort, so I think that's a small victory in a way.

I was up .3 today. Back on protocol.

MDolph, what a great loss! I hope you have a fabulous time on your vacay! That sounds like a blast!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Vicki!
Good job on the loss! I haven't tried Wasa-never did like it on DC. I will stick to the melba toast and grissini (love them, only one store around here carries them!).

So I am "stuck" at my current weight of 263.2 - 263.6 for the last four days. I am thinking it is my TOM. I think I will see if I am down tomorrow (will behave really well today-took some chicken out of the freezer), and if I am not down tomorrow, wonder if I should do an apple day? I want to be down a few more pounds before I go to P3. What do you all think?

On a positive note, somebody I hadn't seen in a while asked me yesterday if I was losing weight. Yahoo! I didn't think it was noticeable to anyone!

Just spoke to my sis in MA. Told her how much I was down-she was excited for me, asking lots of questions. She is doing WW with her daughters. I think she might come "lurk" on these boards-I've piqued her curiosity! She probably needs to lose 100 pounds or so, as do I.

Ok, get me to the (2)50s!! Onward and downward! You all have a great day!!

Hey, Melanie! That's so weird. I just thought of you yesterday. Sometimes I wonder where the old regulars have gone. It would be great if more of you came back! I hope you have a great round and a great vacation, too.

Maggie, I'm sorry you had that allergic reaction! I'm glad you are feeling better today, though. It surely would be nice to know what it was you ate, so you can be more aware in the future. What did you eat? Some people develop food allergies as they get older.

Okay. Misunderstood! Then I would definitely do an apple day. I don't like to go more than 3-4 days without a loss of some kind. Apple days work well for me, and I love them. Thanks for the well-wishes for my R2! I hope it is a good one, too.

Congrats on sobriety! Today is 5 months for me. I don't count the days, but I do count the months, on the 21st. Yip-yip! Sorry you missed the post I put on the old thread that had the new thread's link. I tried to make it stand out! I even gave the post a title. That sucks about the salad dressing at the restaurant. Maybe next time ask for oil and vinegar so they will bring the two cruets and you can see that they are indeed separate. On the 2 lb loss and feeling lighter!

I don't know what that is. ???

I am pooped out today, after helping, one of my sisters move some boxes and crap (and I do mean CRAP) into her new apartment. They don't actually move in until the end of July, but the guy is letting them move in boxes and smaller items, just not their furniture. And it was sooooo hot today! We were cooked.

Got the results from yesterdays blood work back and the Dr's assistant called with concerns. Cholesterol is high (240's), liver enzymes are high and my Thyroid is in a hyper-mode. I have Hashi's so maybe that is to be expected. I've heard that our thyroid goes into hyper/hypo phases on its way to complete death, due to the antibodies attacking it. I will remind them of that when they call me again to tell me what they are wanting to change.

I stopped taking my Statin months ago, too. I read on LCF that statins do nothing for women and can be harmful. So, Doc is probably looking at the statin he ordered for me and thinking that I'm taking that and will want to increase the dang dose. If only I could actually talk to HIM and not have all the middle-men! It takes 10 times longer to get things straightened out this way. I'm going to look into more natural ways to drop the cholesterol.

Didn't weigh today because of being mid-load. Will weigh on the morning of my first VLCD, which may or may not be tomorrow. I haven't decided yet.

Congrats to all the LOSERS!

I have no idea what it could have been. I hate chicken with caribbean jerk seasoning, sliced cucumber, melba toast, and an apple. I've had this meal several times. It was so weird! I am thinking of getting allergy testing done to see if that helps pinpoint what it was.

I have had elevated liver enzymes while on this diet. My doctor said it was because of the body burning the fat so quickly. I have also been hyperthyroid while on the diet. My guess was because HCG stimulates the hypothalamus. I am Hashis, too. I would not take the statin because your cholesterol should drop as your weight goes down. You can always take fish oil if you get to goal weight and it's still high.

Yeah. I am going to find ways to bring it down without Statins. I am on so many dang pills! You would not believe it if I told you. Talk about a reason for your liver to be over-worked! If I cut down on these pills, that would give it a good rest. I'm going to talk to him about THAT matter.

In the meantime, I'm going to see if I can cut back on some of the over-the-counter crap I take. Maybe it's time to just see if less really is more.

I am also going to drink more water. I haven't been drinking nearly enough, relying more on diet sodas (and before that, coffee and diet iced tea.) I used to drink more water, but I have gotten away from it. I have a big full bottle beside me right now, and I will be guzzling it soon. (Brain freeze coming up! I put lots of ice in it.)

Thanks for the help, ladies. I appreciate it! I hope you all (we all) have a peaceful evening and sweet dreams.

PS: R2P2VLCD1 tomorrow! I didn't eat half the stuff I intended to on my load, but time to get crackin'!

Hi Cheryl! I wanted you to know because of you, I've tried the popcorn and am totally enjoying it! Do you eat the whole bag and count it as your 2 servings of melba or grissini? I have only eaten half of the bag. I also enjoy the kettle corn one better because I love sweet and salty!!!!!!

I use one bag for the daily grain dose. Sometimes I've been naughty and had more than one bag, but then I get into sodium troubles, from the butter spray and popcorn cheese powder. I've never tried the Kettle Corn one yet. I'll have to see if I like it, too. Do you add anything to the kettle corn?

Yes! I added the ICBINB and the white chedder flavoring to my kettle corn! I went out and bought every flavoring I could find in the stores here (Ranch, Nacho Cheese, White Chedder, Jalepeno and Butter).

I actually dont want the regular box of 100 cal butter one now that I've tried the 100 cal kettle corn. I will only be purchasing the kettle corn from now on ~ maybe I'll give the regular box to a friend!

Good evening lovelies...

Just got in from our anniversary day trip...

Just a quick minute to say hello to all and a big CONGRATS to everyone for your losses and successful day...

I was down 1 pd this morning which made it 12 pds in 9 days, will sure take it..

Cheryl, i was also on statins and also 4 prescription strength omega 3 for my cholesterol also finally just stopped taking them after the numbers were not getting any better with meds after 2 years ,,,,figured, diet, exercise and niacin would do most help...my sis who is a doc said heredity is my biggest culprit and nothing will really help that...

WomanofGod, I have also been wanting to try the kettle corn, thanks for the heads up, I am loving my nightly treat

have a great night all, and may we see great losses in the morning...

6 down and 6 to go! I lost another 3 overnight, which, while I find this amazing, my husband lost 6 overnight. He always has to be a showoff, lol! Anyway, 6 pounds to goal. I'm already growing bored of eating this way after indulging in cocoa covered almonds and peanut butter the last few weeks. I only gained what I did from an over indulgence of pizza and Mexican food, lol! Anyway, making me a big pot of cabbage and beef in hopes that keeps me motivated as its my favorite p2 meal!

I love the popcorn too but everytime I eat it I get a slight gain. I still keep it around, just in case! Gotta put lots of crap on it though to make it edible!

As for all the statins talk, I have nothing to say! While just about everyone in my family has high cholesterol and blood pressure I never have. My blood pressure actually gets too low at times. I did have insullin resistance and took metaformin but not anymore! I don't take any meds normally but have started to double does a multivitamin as my nails and hair have really suffered from all this dieting and my potassium and iron were low on my pre-surgery results.

Cathy- how was your trip? How bad did you gain? We're just going about 3 1/2 hours south to Indy. That's about as far as I think the kids are ready for, but we're staying at a water park hotel, going to the zoo and to the children's museum. Oh, and we're going on a Diner's Drive-through and Dives tour for our meals. Yeah, I'm guessing there's gonna be a gain on the scale, lol!

I'm doing a second GY day. I bounced up after eating normally yesterday on P3.

Enjoy your apples...I'll try to enjoy my yogurt.

Hope we both get a good loss that STICKS! I want to enjoy my weekend!

That is absolutely a fantastic improvement! I usually drop 2% or so per round...you've done AMAZING!

thanks, paula! feels good and kinda motivates to keep at my original plan of doing a 40 day round. i was wavering about stopping at 30, but this helps the motivation.

hope your CD is successful.

From your lips to the-big-guy-up-above's ears!

Is your GY day a CD for P3? Can you have any fruit with the GY?
