Is anyone here using HCG and not under a doctor's care?

I need to stop looking for articles that talk about people dying using HCG because it only gets my negative thinking going. One woman said wouldn't pregnant women die if this was the case.

I am not under a doctor's care and was wondering who else isn't. When I talked to my doctor, all she said was that 500 calories isn't safe and was clueless about HCG. She said all she knows is that it's produced by a fetus.

I would say MOST people on this board are not under a doctor's care. Some people are doing rx injections but a lot are doing the hhcg homeopathic version. My doctor actually SUGGESTED it to me but I would rather pay $30 a rounds than $1200.

I agree and I'm doing hhcg as well. I wish my doctor suggested it to me, but she's clueless. All she heard was 500 calories and that it's not safe. After weeks of research, reading these boards and working with about twelve people that are doing hcg...my husband said I should go for it.

However, he's not willing to follow this plan with me.

moonstruck,
I think the most important thing is to know your own body. I remember when I went to an MD about weight loss and he asked if I would like to try Hcg. I personally feared more about my weight being over by 50 lbs than than I feared trying Hcg. And as for homeopathy, that is even less to be feared in my opinion than RX. You know how to listen to your body and believe me if it doesn't feel right or there are problems you will know!

My MD RX's sublingual hcg, although he gave the option for shots too. I just didn't want to have to go in every day for a shot. So I took a prescription with me and each morning and each evening I placed it under the tongue. It was so easy and very simple.

I told my doc that I was going to try hcg. He didn't know much about it but told me I could try anything that didn't involve weird supplements and that I check in if I felt funny. I was a hair's breadth away from having to go on insulin so I think he figured what did I have to lose (no pun intended).

I have a feeling that once he gets a load of me, he might be recommending hcg to some patients!

I'm on RX injections, I'm technically "under a doctor's care" -BUT-- On my very first round, he taught me how to do the injections, and then I came back in one week for him to assess how I was doing, and then came back at the end of the round. I called the office a time or two and that was it. I don't have daily monitoring or anything. I still come see him at the end of the rounds, but that involves a bunch of other stuff I have going on, too -

Sometimes he gives me advice that is contrary to Pounds and Inches and I ignore it. Flatly. I have support from some hcg sites on facebook and here, and so far, I'm his most successful patient as far as losing and keeping it off. That's because I follow protocol and not his weird tweaks. I love the guy for introducing me to hcg, but sometimes the most informed great doctor still doesn't give good advice. It's my body.

So true. My doc is clueless about hcg and said 500 calories isn't safe. After hearing about it from several co-workers who were having amazing success and doing weeks of online research - my husband said I should go for it. One of my co-workers said she was starving during her round, but that's because with the drops she was using - she was supposed to take 10 drops under the tongue three times a day and she was only taking 1 drop three times a day.

She even admitted she wasn't following the directions and also told me that she was eating LESS than 500 calories.

Um, then she's NOT doing hcg or the protocol - she's simply starving herself. Yikes.

I mentioned it to my OBGYN... she said others in her office had had success with it. We then got into the discussion of how 'wrong' it is that insurance won't pick up the tab... but we won't go there here! lol

um maybe time for a different doc???? i only went to college 3 years and as a biology major 25 years ago seem to have heard more about HCG then , than your DOCTOR now???
nope not under a doctors care for HCG
good luck
edited to add it really isn't JUST 500 calories the hcg triggers the release of 1500-2500 calories a day from your fat stores so if you add 500 +1500= 2000 seems like a pretty good calorie count and yeah you will know if it isn't working truely very little hunger when it is doing it's thing

I'm not under a MD's care, the issues I was having before I started and was seeing my Md for (sleep apnea, mild depression, and poly cystic ovary sydrome) well, those things seemed to have vanished! NO symptoms AT ALL!!

I tried to explain that, but she didn't get it. I haven't seen my primary doc in a while, she was off when I went in to I saw her counterpart.

Yep...she also said she's a picky eater. She's getting ready to begin a new round, but when she ended her first one...she said she couldn't wait to eat everything in sight. She said it was horrible for her...the directions seem cut and dry to me.

I told her I have zero hunger, zero cravings and shared my loss with her and I sensed some jealousy. I hope she figures it out, she's not very bright.

I am under a doctor's care. He has become my angel! He is different than most. He special orders the serum from a local company and has them add the necessary daily vitamins to the injection. I went in for the consult/start appointment. He sat and talked to me for 90 minutes getting to know my history, looking at my labs (had done on my own because of hormone issues), and explaining the program/answering any questions. I live over an hour away from his office so he gave me the supplies and the HCG to take home to do myself. IMO and experience if you use the best insulin needles, you don't even feel the injections. I can push my fingernail against my skin and get more pain I had the option of calling in my stats or going in once a week. I chose to go once a week just for the moral support alone. The girls in the office have done it or are on it too. At the end of the program he gives each patient the book he wrote on how to live the rest of your life and not gain back. His P3 is different than the protocol but the success that hundreds have had with him speaks for itself. I am following what he recommends. I like that I can call anytime during business hours to get answers or a pep talk on a bad day  I have been his healthiest patient in a long time. The only problem I have is with progestrone and weight. Both go hand in hand. I am also one that my body has done things differently than he has ever seen. He just keeps adjusting and advising. It is working! If I were to do it again, I would still go through him to do it. To me it is well worth it know that the nutition is right on with the vitamins every morning being in the injection. I feel better than I ever have in my life!!

Wow! That was long
