i think that probably depends on each person and even though you are allowed more calories on OWL, if you do go higher or not may depend on your loss..seems like most days i still just hit right above 500 cals.....My loss has been 13 pds in 15 days...i had a few hard days the last few days, with some things going on here, but besides that this woe has worked good for me..

Thanks so much for your reply Stacy! I think I will start on protocol and add items from OWL as necessary. Going to try for 40 days.

I've been doing OWL for several days now and it seems to have slowed me down a bit, so my modification is just to add more veggies but NOT add the extra carbs and melon. And, I'm not going to use any of the butter sprays. Just more veggies - I never did understand why Dr. S wouldn't let us have zucchini - it's almost all water.....
I'll let you know if things get better. |

Mind if I subscribe and lurk a bit?
I came across OWL last year and tried it my latest round. (It's hard for me using that acronym as I automatically think Atkins Ongoing Weight Loss )Anyway, I enjoyed the extra freedom, but it was a bit of a catch 22 cause it made things a bit more complicated, but seeing as how you can choose more or less complicated, it's nice to have options. The grissini, for example, Sometimes I really loved the grissini, but on work days it was really nice to have the popcorn. I'd split it between two sandwich bags and snack on on in the morning and the other in the evening, or one in the morning, and the grissini at dinner, and it didn't look weird to friends when I was eating normal popcorn while they ate corn chips. I enjoyed having mushrooms, it's one of my favorite fungi, and while there are many veggie choices, I like that I can still choose lower calorie with a few garnish. BTW, did you know that cucumber are high in potassium? i never had leg cramps much at all, but I was a cucumber fiend. I never had to take potassium pills. just tossing that out if people are feeling low on K. Happy Friday! I'm not starting another round for a few weeks, so I'll just lurk a bit and watch your progress for ideas. ![]()

Lettuce is unlimited on this plan ... and he advocates the walden farms dressing because it is zero cal ... hmmmm.
Thanks for the website directions, gals. I am considering this plan over Simeons, they did not have the food and drink options then that we have now. |

I also love the chipolte ranch and the honey mustard...I am not much of a salad eater so that is about the only way to get my salad down
The other day I mixed some drained tuna, lettuce and chipolte ranch and had it for lunch Also use both on my meat....yum on the shrimp idea, that sounds great, thanks Today is day 1 of no drops...I had a bad night last night, but knew i would as we went out for the 4th....today i am just going to eat as it is a P2 day, just going to increase my meat....will do this for next 3 days, then will eat as i am on induction but will continue my fruit if i dont go out of my 2 pd window... |

Charms, maybe you can answer this...
I know I am not supposed to lose on P3...but if i want to lose, when can I start doing that??...and if my body is used to what I eat for the 3 weeks on P3,( higher cals and carbs) isnt it going to be hard to lose when i hit P4 and try to lower cals/carbs?...will i have to do drops again to lose more???..sorry if this sounds confusing, i am a bit confused as i am not at the weight i want to stop at |
