How is almond flour any different?

I'm seeing so many low carb sweets made with almond flour. It's still flour, so I frown on it as of now. Is this allowed on P3 and P4? I'm wondering if it's borderline for gaining weight, or if it's all good.

Loving some of the sweets made with it, but have no problem staying away from it if it has caused any of you weight gain

Well, they call it flour but it is just ground up almonds. There is no flour actually in it.

I'm not on HCG but I do very low carb... basically Atkins induction modified to include nuts and berries. I don't eat any grains, rice, potatoes or anything else like that.

Almond flour, or also called Almond meal, is just ground raw almonds.

I eat almonds on almost a daily basis and I make several recipes with almond flour and I don't have a problem with them at all.

Some people that have to watch their calories (I'm not at that point yet) have to watch their almond consumption since they are high in calories and fat.

I would try it and see how your body reacts to them.

Take care,

Tami

It is ground up almonds....and makes delicious things! As with anything, moderation is key. I do love a mug cake in P3 and P4!

I messed up the mug cake big time. Not sure what I did wrong. Are there several mug cake recipes floating around out there and maybe I just stumbled on the one recipe among the dozen that's a flop? Is that possible? Or....maybe....maybe it was me.

Nevermind. :-) I think I know the answer.

(But if there ARE several - do you happen to have a link to a good one? I am a woman who needs a fix!) :-)

Plus, it's low-carb---theoretically it won't make your blood sugar spike like flours made from grains may.
