Doing P2 in the summer is the greatest!
Cold delicious shrimp -- cucumbers -- strawberries -- fresh grilled chicken-- there is nothing more delicious than this stuff in the summer! I'm just thinking of how much less fun this sounds in wintertime -- aside from P2 chili, the idea of all this warm beef and chicken just doesn't have the same appeal.
And apples! I mean, I like apples, but they don't even compare to strawberries!! *is dreading future rounds during winter, can you tell?* |

Spring and summer are the best for this diet! Down here in the south, I can squeeze a round in for "fall" (we don't really have a fall), but the winter is depressing and fruit is expensive.

![]() It's almost a shame that I'll be done with P2 by the time my veggies are all ready! I mean, I have lettuce and strawberries now, but I've got TONS of tomatoes and cukes that are just seedlings now. But then again, I have lots of squash and eggplants and melons and broccoli and peppers (and peaches slowly ripening on the tree) that I can have on P3! Oops, nevermind, lol! I totally agree with you though. Winter is gonna stink. Gotta make sure I get my 2nd round in while it's still fall!

Wow, and here I was feeling bad because I had to postpone my next round till now. You are right. summer time is great for all that raw crunchy stuff! Salads and cold shrimp and cucumbers have FINALLY come down to a reasonable price.
Hooray! I just got an ice shaver too....Oh Yeah, strawberry ice here I come. |

I totally agree. Fresh from the garden veggies are sooo much better than dinky looking veggies at the store.
and I actually want to drink a lot of water......and I can get warmed up by just standing outside for a few mins instead of wearing 3 sweaters in the house....... Love doing protocol in the summertime ![]() ![]() |

I WAS going to take the whole summer off. I dunno if I'm going to really do that or not. I am taking more than a 6-week break for sure, though, as vacay for me is July 1 - July 15 and I could start again right after that if I decide to - 26 day round (2 day load, 21 day VLCD, 72 hrs to maintenance) to my anniversary maybe? That'd be putting me RIGHT at the start of P3 on my anniversary weekend. Hmmmm.....But yes, being cold on protocol is very nice in the summer, not the winter!

I'm using P4 to get through vacation in July, and then I have a few weeks with my husband where it would be fun to stay on P4 rather than diving into P2 again(trips here and there, kids away . . .) I'm thinking of loading for R2 in late August.
As much as I want to just lose as fast as possible, this is what I think will work better -- R2P2 in Sept/Oct, puts me in P4 for Thanksgiving, then start R3. I'm guessing I'll need four rounds, so gotta plan ahead! And, with no summer food around, I'll just have to live on apples and P2 chili! |
