? for HCG Rougers!
Hi there! I am Low Carb for a seizure disorder - opting for a modified adkins diet over medication, as long as keytones are produced, I'm good! I was hoping to achieve weightloss as well, but so far it's not working out so well. So here is my question ~ has anybody done low to no carb while VLC? I'm just not sure how important the melba toast is in all this, and I've not had any fruit since starting Low Carb, but I will try berries in place of the apples. I was also thinking of doing the carb-advantage drinks as the primary source of calories...? I really want to reset my metabolism after yrs of dieting, I think that's why I'm not losing on adkins. I would like to lose at least 75 lbs within the next year ~ I'm in no rush as long as it's off for good! I've read Dr. S's P & I and have been reading everything and anything while researching this.
I'm just looking for any input from those that have been-there done-that! Thanks! Melissa |

My husband has epilepsy, and has done very well on the HCG diet. He has done 4 rounds, 3 without the melba toast, and the 4th one WITH the melba toast. It has not affected his epilepsy, but then again, he does not have to be on a LC diet (I am familiar with the diet you're on) for epilepsy.
Personally, I think the melba toast and fruit are important on this diet because it teaches your body how to properly handle fruits and carbs while your hypothalamus is resetting. This is just my personal opinion, though. |

that's what i have been doing the last 2 days. my menus look like this:
hcg omelet -- 1 whole egg, 3 egg whites, flavored as you like. i love ezsweets, vanilla, cinnamon for morning. 6-8oz chicken breast and a salad with walden farms dressing another omelet, seasoned savory with mrs. dash. this has been a very filling and satisfying menu. and i continue my losses. |

I lost a bit better without the fruit, and by replacing some of those calories with a bit of extra protein. So if the carbs aren't medically advisable, there are options.
There are a lot of us longtime lowcarbers that have found hcg to work! I have also rogued it and used blackberries/raspberries too without a problem. |
