Dr. Simeons & Diuretics

Didn't the doctor mention diuretics in Pounds and Inches somewhere or am I dreaming?

I have seen Pamprin and Midol suggested for water weight because they have mild diuretic in them.

I was prescribed a Acetazolamide for water retention (have some left over) and was wondering if I would jinx anything by taking them once in a while.

Water retainers, what do you think?

Thanks!

here's what i found

"Patients who have previously regularly used diuretics as a method of reducing, lose fat during the first two or three weeks of treatment which shows in their measurements, but the scale may show little or no loss because they are replacing the normal water content of their body which has been dehydrated. Diuretics should never be used for reducing."
and
"The other way to break up a plateau is by giving a non-mercurial diuretic[7] for one day. This is simpler for the patient but we prefer the apple-day as we sometimes find that though the diuretic is very effective on the following day it may take two to three days before the normal daily reduction is resumed, throwing the patient into a new fit of despair. It is useless to give either an apple-day or a diuretic unless the weight has been stationary for at least four days without any dietary error having been committed"

If you're looking for a natural diuretic I use Traditional Medicinals PMS TEA. It's made of dandelion, nettle, parsley, chicory, oatstraw and cornsilk among other things. You need to drink 3-4 cups a day to get the effect but it's got good minerals and nutrients your body will appreciate to boot.

Thanks! Is that tea readily available or do you need to look for it online?

Anyone taking diuretics on The Protocol?

my bp was increasing and so were the pitting edema in my legs last time i saw the dr (a year ago) he put me on benecor with hydrochlorothiazide...which is a water pill...love it as my legs retain such edema you can dent it, put some potting soil and grow marigolds in the dents before they undent! It was horrible, had 80 yr old grandma legs. Thankfully i have not one varicose vien, but i should!

No swelling since starting hcg tho...wierd huh

Do you reccomend the benecor w/hctz, then? Any bad side affects? I don't really think I have edema...but I could stand to lose some water.

I have edema caused by medication side effects and I occasionally take a Lasix when my ankles grow grotesquely HUGE. The skin actually stretches so much it becomes painful.

I don't think Dr S would mind. I'm talking one pill every 2 weeks.

Thanks, LB. I've been researching some natural choices. Dandelion root gets a lot of press but it tastes hideously bitter.
I'm getting some Curcumin w/piperine...
