My hHCG journey begins in 3,2,1.....

I have been diagnosed diabetic recently. Eating protein and veggies only and still reading high on meters. Have about 100 pounds to lose, but feel like just losing 25 will help me with my sugars.....Been trying to lose for quite a while...so, going to try the hHCG, even though I have been very skeptical about it for over a year.

I have been reading these threads for over a week now. I find myself thoroughly thrilled with each person's successes, and I really love the feedback you give each other.

It may be wishful thinking, but hopefully my drops will arrive tomorrow. I can only load with high fats and proteins. No carbs for me, but I think I've read in several posts that that will be a.o.k.

One of my concerns is that I clean foreclosed houses. It gets really, really hot here in the desert and we sweat bullets while cleaning! It is very exhausting and I am going to need to not get weak. I've read about lemon water and salt, so will drink plenty of that, but what other suggestions might help.

I second the potassium.

I am type II, and my numbers have dramatically improved while on hcg. Fasting glucose went from 170+ to 120ish!!

I will look into the potassium. I've needed to lose weight for such a long time. I did get down close to 200 for a couple of years. I ended up gaining 40 pounds since July of last year even with the addition of my new job cleaning houses. I would low carb and still not lose each week. I was used to being able to have one indulgant meal a week and still have a loss at weigh in as long as the rest were low carb. Now that I have my meter, I have learned that it takes all week to recover below 200 on my glucose meter after having that one decadent meal. I cannot even have a smidge of regular bbq sauce on my chicken or croutons on my salad! The weight needs to come off!

The good news, I did lose 2.4 pounds at TOPS tonight. I had lost 1 pound each of the last 2 weeks prior. So, since I found out I am diabetic and cut out the one fun meal and/0r croutons on salad, I am actually moving the scale back down. I just feel hungry and deprived all of the time! So looking forward to seeing what hHCG will do.

So, so, so hoping my drops arrive today. On another note, I am down .4 today. So strange that I am finally starting to have a little success. I can also see better today! My vision has been so blurry that I haven't even been able to read my computer monitor or cell without help. The diabetes was a real eye-opener for me.

Drops have still not arrived. It would have been perfect if they had because starting today we will be camping for a couple of days and I could have been loading!

Beezer, your stats for this round are looking very encouraging. Does anyone else see RIP in those codes instead of R1P2? LOL.....Rest in Peace fat.....

I TOTALLY thought the same thing when I first started visiting this board. Now I hardly notice it, but it's so funny that you bring it up!

Re: your work: I think that others here have given you good advice on avoiding weakness, but I have one other little bit of good news for you. You know how hot you get while doing your work? Give it a few days and your body temp will drop drastically! It's like having your own personal AC with you, thanks to hhcg!

Enjoy the journey and come here often. Everyone is so helpful and supportive!

Got back late last night. Weighed myself this morning and am up 2 pounds since beginning feed. I've completed 2 full days of feed, but my directions that came with drops said to do 3 days? I keep reading everyone is doing 2. Is my program off?

I tried to eat a lot of high fat things, but I don't think I really did as well as I should have. My friend who started the same day has been eating nonstop junk food (cinnamon rolls, candybars, bisquits and gravy, etc.) and she is already down 3+ pounds, even during the feed. LOL....differences in our bodies? Or the fact that I can't eat anything but fats, proteins and veggies with my diabetes? I did start my cycle yesterday as well...we all know what that does!

Anyway, tomorrow begins the VLCD!

LOL! It feels like a "feed" doesn't it? Strappin' on the ol' feedbag for 2 days of fun!

I think most do 2 days, but I cannot remember if the rx people do 3 -- maybe? Since you're doing drops, I think I'd just go with 2 days, plus, if you're like me, you're pretty much ready and raring to go by now. I don't think that junkfood is the way to go at all, but to each their own. Don't worry about gains and losses right now -- those will come in P2. I think you're better off eating exactly what you have been, focusing on adequate protein and lots of fats. You'll be grateful you did once you start the VLCD!

Zbunny-thanks for the input. Unfortunately because I had left for camping the day I got the drops and my friend wanted to start right away and wanted us to do it at the same time, I let her text me with instructions. They are not RX drops and yet it says to load for 3 days, so that is what I ended up doing. I will be doing it different the next time because I just couldn't eat the calories today. Tomorrow will be VLCD #Uno!

Also, Zbunny, congrats on getting beyond your set point, as indicated in your signature line. That is always exciting!

Thanks, CJ! It felt good to get past that point, and it is VERY motivating to stay within my LDW window now!

No worries on loading for 3 days -- you'll be just fine! And if you encounter any problems with hunger or anything else, make sure you come here because the folks on this board are AWESOME at helping you through it. P2 started rough for me, but ended up being really enjoyable once I sorted myself out with the help of some wise peeps on here. Stick to protocol and you'll do GREAT! (Actually, a lot of people are rogue and still do well, but I can only attest to what I know -- which is that protocol works, and it's easy to figure out what you're doing wrong if you go off course at all). Have fun losing!

Zbunny, I'm already in love with this message board. I have thoroughly been enjoying and inspired by the different journal threads I have been reading.

I have been doing some prep work. I decided to buy some pint size, wide-mouthed canning jars. I can weigh my food that I cook ahead of time as I put it in the jar. Then I can freeze some and keep some in the fridge. When I want to reheat, I can place the jar (meal or protein portion) of food in a few inches of boiling water in a pot with lid and steam my meal to reheat it. I am hoping that will keep it moist and less "chewy." Tonight I made 6 meals with ginger tilapia and cabbage. Tomorrow I will be prepping some chicken meals and Thursday I will be doing some hamburger meals. Looking forward to beginning the weight loss part of this journey!

Wow, awesome planning ahead strategy CJ! And that sounds like a terrific idea with making the jar meals and reheating them in the boiling water!

Please post your results after you reheat some things and let us know how they turn out

Today begins the VLCD numero uno. I was actually down 2.8 pounds, but I figured I was actually up 2# due to my cycle having started the day before.

6/7/11 Last Load Day 246.8
6/8/11 R1P2VLCD1 244 -2.8

Yesterday was tough, BUT! I'm down 2.8 this morning. I think I can ride through today on that victory! My blood sugar is high this morning, yet it was almost normal just before I went to bed. I cannot figure out how it goes up without ingesting anything! My blood pressure was also high this morning....strange.

Hopefully that will all level out within a couple of days of being on protocol. If anything seems off, definitely see your doc, but you might just find that your body adapts really well to P2 -- I've seen it time and time again on here. Maybe you should post your menus (and times) for the pros around here to take a look and see if they have any advice.

I will post my menus for the previous 2 days. My blood sugars were down 30 points this morning, but still high....so, it is probably just a matter of it leveling out. The mystery to me is eating around 5 p.m....nothing after that, being almost normal on numbers at 10 p.m., going to bed and then waking high. I need to find out why this would happen. I was almost normal again last night and higher in the morning, although lower than the previous morning....so, just maybe it will stop the madness!?!

I am down 2.4# this morning. Thrilled!

The first day: 3.5 oz precooked weight of tilapia. 1 cup steamed cabbage with ginger and cayenne. 3.5 oz chicken breast precooked weight, 2 cups cucumbers.

The second day: same meal as first with the tilapia and 2nd meal was 3.5 oz precooked weight of 97% lean ground meat, rinsed and blotted and 2 cups lettuce and 2 tsp. Walden Farms bacon dressing.

I don't do any salt or any of the carb or fruit portions because of diabetes and high blood pressure.

I think a couple more days on protocol and maybe I really will see the bs and bp numbers go down! Thanks for the help!

When I started hHCG, my morning numbers were 190-200. Now they are regularly around 120 and under. Truth is, I have not even taken my diabetes meds in the last 2 weeks.

Your numbers WILL come down, I promise!

Also, yay for your whooshes!

Also, it's okay to have some strawberries. They are low on the glycemic index and I have watched my BS after eating them and I can attest to the low impact, whereas apples or oranges spike my BS after eating them.
