Congrats on the 2.4 loss today!
I had cabbage too and spiced it up good~I normally dont like cabbage but it was scrumptious today for some reason?
Hope you can find the solution to controlling your blood sugar..your certainly on the right path!
Not doing fruit or melba/breadsticks here..except tomatoes and a pinch more meat..seems to keep the hunger at bay better.
Already almost a week into this and so far I am so proud that I am STILL optimistic
Have a wonderful weekend!

I was almost normal again last night and higher in the morning, although lower than the previous morning....so, just maybe it will stop the madness!?!

I am down 2.4# this morning. Thrilled!

The first day: 3.5 oz precooked weight of tilapia. 1 cup steamed cabbage with ginger and cayenne. 3.5 oz chicken breast precooked weight, 2 cups cucumbers.

The second day: same meal as first with the tilapia and 2nd meal was 3.5 oz precooked weight of 97% lean ground meat, rinsed and blotted and 2 cups lettuce and 2 tsp. Walden Farms bacon dressing.

I don't do any salt or any of the carb or fruit portions because of diabetes and high blood pressure.

I think a couple more days on protocol and maybe I really will see the bs and bp numbers go down! Thanks for the help!

@Shelly, optimism is pretty good with me also, although I have some moments where I feel like I could cave at any moment.

Those moments pass, dear one. You can do this. Just grit your teeth, bite your lip, set your mind, get out of the room where the temptation is, and you will see yourself get stronger and stronger.

We are with you!

Coming from a 5 rounder, 102 pound loser...well, I can't take those words lightly. You give much hope and encouragement. It's just a 21 day round I am doing...surely I can do that. I am so compulsive about food that I don't know if I could do this under normal circumstances, but because I've wrecked my body so badly, I am now trying to lose to keep from taking insulin and hopefully to get off bp meds....that's my number one goal.

Down 1.2 this morning. I'm happy about that...and the proof is in the pudding. I like pudding!

You're doing great on your weight loss, CJ! Awesome!

Make sure you're eating enough, though. If you're skipping the fruit and the grissini, you need to get those calories from elsewhere. Tilapia and chicken, while delicious, are very low calorie. I usually included beef for one meal each day to stay satiated and to keep my calories at 500 (I also skipped the grissini, but I did eat 2 fruits per day). You might want to increase your protein a bit (esp the white fish -- I think many people eat 150 g. when they have fish b/c the cals are so low).

Did you try adding in the strawberries as Lilac mentioned? I think eating them will really increase your satisfaction, as long as your blood sugar is okay with them.

Keep up the great work!

I really was wondering if I could add more. I'm glad to hear that I can, cause I can't go to bed any earlier to keep from eating 'cause I'm hungry! Someone said they thought that too much protein would stall, so I didn't add and just figured I'd wait to see how I do on the scale. I have ground lean sirloin once a day now...that does help a lot! I will get some strawberries today and give them a try. I'm anxious to see how they work for me.

Thanks so much for the help and encouragement!

I'm LOLing about the going to bed early -- I was doing the same thing in P2 b/c I'm so used to nighttime grazing and I just didn't know what to do with myself! I have to get up early anyway, so it was probably great for me to go to bed early so I was getting closer to 8 hours each night, but my DH was like when I wanted to go to bed before 8:00 p.m. a couple of times.

Enjoy those strawberries! And let us know how your blood sugar is -- I hope you can eat them -- so much more enjoyable than going without! Plus, I am really happy that I can actually eat fruit now without worrying like I used to in Atkins. It's just NICE to eat such an enjoyable food without worrying about gaining.

You can always increase your vegetables to go up to the 500 calories. Figure out the meat and the fruit that you do eat for the day, and then add veggies to to get to 500. I do agree you need to be trying the strawberries and see how it goes.

My husband has always gone to bed before me. He is definitely perplexed at my early bedtimes now. He thinks I'm just "tired" from the low calories....heehee.

Still haven't gotten strawberries yet, but I did increase my veggies. I had raw and cooked radishes yesterday. They were zippy hot ones and they weren't that enjoyable to eat. I made the thin sliced radish salad with the rice vinegar and spices posted somewhere in the threads. I also quartered some of the radishes and sauteed them in a skillet. That wasn't so good without oil or butter, though.

I AM down 1.4 this morning. I don't feel so icky anymore. I did at first. Mainly foggy and weak with a slight headache. I also have broke out pretty good with acne on the face and am itching in many of my globular areas: belly, chest, inner thighs. I did notice my skin is really dry, though, so that is probably why.

Great job on the loss, CJ!

Get yourself some yummy strawberries, girl! Now is the time to try them out to see if you can widen the foods that you eat...forever! P2 is a great time to see what your body will tolerate and what it won't (so is P3 and P4 I guess -- really this whole journey is about finding the slimmer you and maintaining it with much higher calories and food variety than most of us have been able to handle previously).

Re: the radishes -- I boiled them until they were fork-tender and then topped with my protein (beef or chicken cooked with seasonings) -- if you boil them, dump the bright pink water, and boil them again and sprinkle w/S&P they "almost" taste like potatoes. I even sprinkled some Molly McButter on them a couple of times, although I don't usually use that stuff b/c I'm skeered of what's in it. They would be better with real butter, but then again, what isn't?

Great losses - how's THAT for some motivation!

Regarding the dry skin, Corn Husker's is okay. Baby oil or petroleum jelly too but those are kind of icky feeling on the skin.

I use a Jergen's face cream that contains glycerin and mineral oil because it's thick like a body cream and gives me the psychological satisfaction of slathering on. Plus it's like 3 bucks at Wal-Mart for a big tub, lol.

Glycerin and mineral oil are ok? That is something I've been wanting to do more research on and then go shopping to see what I can find. I have just been procrastinating.

I am smooth sailing with motivation right now, I can surely say that. Hoping to keep the faith when the slow down begins...and/or the stalls. Actually, maybe I won't fret so much, cause my blood sugar number and my blood pressure numbers were very nice this morning....that's the real prize!

I may add in strawberries tomorrow. I need to go shopping, but not sure I want to today. I hate shopping...and it's even less fun now.

I am definitely going to use the rest of my radishes your way! Sounds good!
I'm actually getting very fascinated with all of the info about food sensitivities. My research continues and that keeps my mind off of food.

I'm super excited about this hHCG right now. It's got me thinking about how I ate everything while pregnant that I normally do when I am not, and my weight was always less after having my babies than before I got pregnant.

My 21 year old son had a dream last night. He was sitting on a couch with my dearly passed mother sitting next to him. I was sitting on a couch next to his with his girlfriend next to me. He was trying to motion his girlfriend to come sit next to him, but he kept getting distracted because I was woofing down donuts that were piled on the arm of my couch. He motioned to me by waving his hand back and forth across his neck (in the cut it off style motion), but I just ignored him. He said my mom (who passed away 3 years ago) was putting sleeping pills in my water....this dream is so very strange, but it actually speaks a message to me!

Thank you Zbunny and C'Marie. I'm planning my next round of meals to prep ahead. I'm tired of cabbage, but you pretty much have to use up what you get. I'm thinking some asparagus would be nice for a meal or two. I still need to use up my radishes and will probably make them boiled as recommended. I'm not going to peel them though. I hope that is ok. I'm working on making strawberry Popsicles right now. I'm getting the grams of strawberries allowed figure out and then headed into the kitchen.

Zbunny-I just ate 4 strawberries...they weighed 1.5 oz, so I added 12 calories to my menu for the day. I ate them about an hour after eating lunch and hopefully the protein will help also with the blood sugar regulation. I am going to check what it is in another hour. I hope my blood sugars stay decent and I hope I still lose tomorrow, cause, well, sheesh....those 4 babies were sooooo, soooo good! I turned some into Popcicles. My guys will eat them, if I can't. :-)

Thanks for the heads up on the radish peeling....Will be nice to see how they turn out.

I hope you like the radishes, and I hope for good news with the strawberries! You are smart to start with such a small portion and then go from there. I'm so excited for you, CJ! I have a good feeling that this is going to be the answer to your weight goals and to controlling your blood sugars. It really seems to have helped a lot of people and you are definitely on the right path!

Thanks Zbunny! My blood sugar never went over 109! I'm truly thrilled. I did kind of have cravings this evening, but I'm going to do the strawberries a couple more times and see if it is truly them causing a craving or if I just needed to eat dinner sooner. I mean, I guess I can go to bed a little earlier, too, cause if I eat earlier, I probably will have to! ha!

I really hope I have a loss tomorrow with the addition of them. I am nervous.....

Well, if I don't have a loss, I can't actually blame it on the strawberries now. I had 5 bites of additional meat tonight that were not weighed, 2 of those bites were of a roast with salt on it (I do not do any salt at all). The other 3 were just stupid bites of my chicken I was cooking up ahead of time. I was weighing it and if it was over the amount I could have, I would break off a piece and throw it in my mouth! Good grief! It was purely thoughtless habit. I'm going to finish up my bookkeeping and go to bed. I feel stressed for some unknown reason today.

Down 1 pound! So glad for that. I am puffy in the face today and my bladder hurts a bit. I have been drinking so, so, so much water! I will drink even more today, but with lemon as well.

Trying to decide if we are going to go up to our property in Pinedale for this Father's Day weekend. I need to get busy planning food for the guys. I have plenty of my meals prepped already, so that's no problem. Hmmmm......what to do?

Hi CJ. I was wondering how it's been going with reheating your jar meals in the boiling water? Has it been working out good?

The reheating in a pot of water with a lid works great. Everything stays nice and moist. It works well in the microwave as well, for those that like to use microwaves. I place a moist paper towel over the top of the jar and that creates a steam. But, I am not finding my food to be all that dry just reheating it, so I don't actually have to go to that trouble for the most part. I do like storing things in the jars rather than the plastic.

Hi Zbunny! I am drinking so much water today, I am sick of it, but, the pain in my bladder is gone and so is the swelling. It's been a decent day. No major cravings or hunger. I went to Whole Foods to buy foods for my 5 year old who is on the Feingold diet. That's a tough place to shop when you are hungry and it was just before dinner....but, I didn't really have any problem. :-)
